Job Summary
The Global Programmes Officer will play a key role in supporting the entire project management process within the organisation, whilst taking the lead with a small portfolio of projects, from assisting with the application for new projects, to the reporting and follow-up of ongoing projects and programmes,. This position requires some basic programme management experience, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with the team. It is a great opportunity for an individual to build on existing programme experience.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

The Role
Healthy rivers are essential for people and nature but they are on the brink of collapse, under threat from pollution, climate change, habitat loss and water scarcity. Tackling these issues requires holistic understanding and effective partnership working.
We are seeking a Catchment Officer, to lead our work in two catchments across our area. You will be our primary representative in your focal catchments, and will be responsible for leading and chairing the local Catchment Partnerships. Through your Catchment Partnership work, you will develop a deep local knowledge of your rivers and their stakeholders, which you will leverage to develop programs of data and evidence gathering that will help to understand the issues impacting river health in the catchments. Based on this knowledge, you will work with partners to develop catchment plans and co-design solutions and mitigation projects that will provide multiple benefits and make a real difference to river health.
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a level of scientific and/or technical expertise, for example in land management, wetland design, aquatic biodiversity, habitat enhancement, nature-based solutions, biodiversity net gain, natural flood management, fisheries science, water resources, or water quality. You will bring this expertise to our Catchment Partnerships and share it across the whole of our organisation.
The role will suit a natural leader and good communicator with relevant technical knowledge who is personable and diplomatic with a passion for the water environment and its improvement.
This position will predominately cover the Loddon, Cuckmere and Pevensey Levels catchments.

THE ROLE

THE CANDIDATE
- You’ll need experience working in the land management sector, preferable in forestry or woodland conservation, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including landowners, statutory and public bodies and local communities.
- You’ll have experience leading delivery of practical conservation projects.
- Supervising volunteers and volunteer groups, being responsible for Health and Safety in a practical working environment.
- Assisting in project delivery, managing and prioritising deadlines.
- Knowledge of wildlife legislation.
- You must have a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent communication skills, be commercially aware and able to build effective partnerships internally and externally.
- The role is based in Mourne Park in Northern Ireland and will require the successful candidate to undertake travel across a wide area. A full driving licence is required.

As a Local Policy Analyst, you will produce evidence-based policy analysis to support local co-operative growth, ensuring that local co-operatives and national stakeholders are actively involved in the policy-making process. About you:

As a Senior Project Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in our efforts to reduce suicide in prisons. You’ll be at the heart of our work, leading specific projects that enhance our Listener scheme and other prison-based programmes. The Schools Project Officer is a crucial business administrative role at the Diocese, as you will act as the first point of contact for projects concerning the development and maintenance of school sites and buildings, from senior leaders, governors, parish officers or our professional advisers.
Reporting to the Schools Officer and working within the Children, Young People and Education team, you will support the oversight of related grant funding and manage other bespoke projects such as promoting decarbonisation initiatives for church schools and organising land registrations. You will also advise school leaders and governors in relation to school organisation and the use or development of land and buildings.
As Schools Project Officer, you will act as facilitator between various internal and external teams, providing support through monitoring projects relating to school estates (building developments, maintenance and repairs), whilst making proactive enquiries and interventions to sustain progress against recorded timescales.
You will also take responsibility for managing grants held by the Diocese and liaising with schools regarding suitable projects and available funding, helping schools to prioritise projects for effective estate management.
A crucial part of our strategy is to assess the environmental impact of the Diocese’s church schools, planning for and supporting schools to advance decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects. As Schools Project Officer you will regularly update and signpost church schools to banks of practical materials and resources for decarbonisation campaigns, toolkits and projects, building case studies of best practice.
With an understanding of or experience in business administration, estate management or project support, you should be capable of supporting projects and have the ability to apply understanding to tasks. Capable of summarising complex information clearly, you should be able to explain the progress of projects to those with no specialist understanding.
Forward thinking, adaptable and responsive to a varied work programme, you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have evidence of recent study, training or development and a willingness to learn new knowledge and technical skills.
It is essential for you to be supportive of the vision of the CYPE team and to be sympathetic to the contribution of Church of England schools to Christian mission.
The ability to travel and a willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings and events is essential.
An understanding and awareness of Church of England structures and knowledge of the current educational landscape within the context of church schools, along with experience of budget management or creating financial reports would be desirable.

The Hospice Neighbour Coordinator role makes this happen! The successful candidate will be responsible for developing this important service. They’ll act as a single point of contact providing timely advice and guidance for project volunteers, facilitate bi-monthly volunteer support group sessions and build relationships with both internal and external referral partners.
