CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit organisations across the UK who specialise in adoption services. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the delivery of the programme from mid to late July 2024. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent.

The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development and the Programme Administrator to ensure that the courses are full, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.

The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care. About the role
As Senior Health Officer: Knowledge Management and Communication, you will be responsible for the knowledge management and MEAL functions for the health team. This will include collection, collation and dissemination of learning and evidence from across key country and donor markets. You will also be responsible for the dissemination and communication through various platforms, social media outlets. Within this role you will play a key role in highlighting both internally and externally the health team's achievements and keep the Movement updated on the impact they have had both in the UK and globally, while also reporting on all active grants and partnerships. You will get to work closely with all technical advisors and play an important role in the production of the team's publications as well as in organising policy advocacy events at the UK parliamentary and global levels.

In this role, you will: 

• Lead on the learning, reporting and communications for the health team, including on the various advocacy projects, grants and workstreams.
• Play a leading role in editing the health team's reports and policy briefing documents, including any research, fact-checking or writing that is required.
• Lead on updating and maintaining the health team's web pages. While maintaining brand requirements.
• Deliver high-quality editorial content for a wide range of planned key corporate communications, in line with the organisation's priorities and brand, implementing Save the Children's editorial style and standards.
• Ensure health team develop quality materials, blogs and thought pieces, while implementing our brand positioning, communications guidelines, and house style.

About you
To be successful, it is important that you have: 

• Demonstrable experience of high-quality health policy advocacy work, including writing and editorial skills.

Main Purpose:

• Work closely with the Chief Executive to develop and evolve Home-Start’s services in response to changing needs, informing the strategy for our family support and development of services.
• Provide vision, direction, and leadership to motivate staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality services that make a measurable positive difference to children and their families.
• Manage the HSS Family Support Team, coordinating and quality assuring their work.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver evidence-based interventions that support parenting and prevent need escalating, including structured programmes and group work.
• Be a Designated Safeguarding Lead for the charity.

The Project Manager will be a key member of the Charity and will play a significant part in developing and delivering the Life Chances Programme to our beneficiaries. The post holder will work closely with the CEO and is able to draw on support from the Admin Support Officer.

The Project Manager will support the success of the Charity’s core operations, the development and delivery of the Life Chances Programme, the lifecycle of projects and financial management from securing funding to reporting impact by ensuring the effective development and management of project opportunities, proposals, funding and finances, planning, delivery, evaluation and reporting.

Main duties and responsibilities

Project Management

· Develop, plan, manage, evaluate and report on diverse and inter-related externally funded and non-funded projects.

· Develop, monitor, maintain and deliver effective project management plans, liaising with project partners to ensure the completion of tasks, workstreams and overall project outputs, outcomes and aims.

· Liaise with internal departments to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with Charity procedures.

· Deliver effective assessment and processing of community grant applications, including identification of need, due diligence, assessment and reporting for decisions on grant awards.

Funding

· Liaise and develop positive relationships with Charity stakeholders and project funders.

· Fulfil funders’ monitoring and reporting requirements.

· Support the team in planning future project opportunities by contributing to the development of grant funding bids.

Finance

· Support effective financial management, decision making and value for money by developing, monitoring and reporting on project and core operating budgets.

· Maintain accurate financial records for all projects and the Charity’s core operations, including via the Charity’s internal CRM.

Other

· Work with the CEO, Digital Marketing & Community Lead, and Charity Team to support the promotion of projects to diverse audiences.

· Any other duties as allocated by the line manager following consultation with the post holder.

· The successful candidate must be willing to attend occasional meetings and events across the UK which will include travel and overnight stays. 

· Ensure all internal processes are adhered to for recording and monitoring of grants and funding.

· Produce regular reports to Trustees at Main Board Meetings and other sub-committee meetings.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EXPERIENCE

· Ideal candidate will hold possess a Project Management Practitioner level qualification (e.g. APM, PMQ, PRINCE 2) or equivalent experience.

· The post holder will have experience in managing budgets, be skilled with Microsoft Office packages and be willing to learn new IT tools.

· A successful track record of delivery results within fundraising, managing programmes & partnership working or similar role for a minimum of two years.

· Excellent networking, stewardship and influencing skills, articulate and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent emotional intelligence, communication and team-working skills, ideally with extensive experience as a manager of complex projects involving diverse partners.

· They will also be keen to take the initiative and see problems as opportunities with a creative and practical approach to problem solving, strategic thinking and long-term planning.

Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities. As Young Carers Support Worker you will be part of a small, dedicated team which directly deliver a range of services for young carers, including information and advice, emotional support and mentoring, promoting awareness of young carers and delivering a wide selection of group activities, both term-time and in the school holiday programme.
