BEO is a civil rights charity that was set up to challenge and dismantle systemic racism. We work with Black communities by using campaigning, policy and research in conjunction with the law to effect meaningful change.
Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism.
In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom.
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO.
Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO.

Role Purpose:
The Delivery Director will be responsible for leading the delivery of a modernised Human Capital Management (HCM) solution to replace a legacy core HR system and a number of associated point solutions across areas such as recruitment and learning. This role will lead all aspects of programme delivery over a multi-year period, ensuring the programme comes in on time, budget and delivers the planned benefits to meet the complex needs of a multi-stakeholder environment.

Working patterns: Full time / 35 hours, 1.00FTW, with typical working hours between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. The role includes weekly travel with early starts and late returns, including possible international travel, and approx. 10 overnight stays a year. ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our Inclusion and Climate Justice (I&CJ) initiatives. You will work closely with the Director(s) of Inclusion and Climate Justice to manage key projects and campaigns, develop consultancy work, and support the successful delivery of our EDI strategy. Purpose
This is a vital role sitting as part of the Senior leadership team at Hope and contributing to the future sustainability and development of Hope.
The purpose of the role is to manage all aspects of Income Generation and manage the commissioned projects which Hope run.
Developing a long term sustainable income generation portfolio you will have responsibility for your own income generation and manage the fundraising team to deliver their financial targets, motivating and monitoring them to achieve success.
Our current income generation activity currently generates around £1.2million per annum and it is the post holders responsibility to grow this income to achieve £1.5million per annum in the next 5 years to ensure Hope can achieve it’s newly launched Operational Strategy.
There is also a likely a facility move in the future, where the Head of Development would need to access funds, in addition to operational budget, for a facility transformation project.
As Line Manager for Hope’s commissioned projects you will have overall responsibility to deliver on the contracts for which we have been commissioned and identify growth potential for the organisation.
Responsibilities
- To Manage all aspects of income generation at Hope.
- To deliver a diverse fundraising portfolio to ensure long-term sustainability.
- To lead a small team of fundraisers and work with the Marketing Manager to achieve income levels as determined by the CEO and Board of trustees.

- Lead on major donor, VIP and legacy events to ensure further income opportunities.
- To manage all commissioned projects from application, to oversight of project delivery, including management of posts recruited to reporting and ongoing engagement.

Overseeing finance, IT and facilities, you will operate in both a hands on and strategic capacity for the Jacobs Futura Foundation, designing and rolling out appropriate controls and processes whilst managing outsourced partner functions.
Working closely with (and where appropriate, deputising for) the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the establishment of finance systems and processes for the Jacobs Futura Foundation. You will work as a key business partner across the Foundation, working with programmatic leads to help inform on and improve financial understanding. You will lead on organisational budgeting, forecasting, international management reporting, as well as manage the relationships with the current outsourced finance partners. A summary of key duties is as follows:
- Lead on organisational budgeting and forecasting, including short and medium term financial planning
- Produce timely, relevant financial management information for the organisation, providing analysis and commentary for the SLT and Board
- Lead on the annual audit process with external auditors, ensuring all information is provided on time, to plan and to quality, maintaining unqualified audit reports
- Business partner with non-finance stakeholders to help assess the viability of projects, including focusing on financial aspects
- Develop and maintain financial reporting templates for project management and oversight
- Assist with the development and maintenance of organisational and project KPI processes and systems
- Manage JFF’s IT and facilities functions and relationships with other supplier contracts
- Assist in the collation of board reporting on relevant matters, working to the CEO and COO
About You
A qualified finance professional, with significant post-qualified experience at senior finance level
Have a thorough understanding of best-in-class systems implementation and use (with a particular interest in automation and utilising technology for effectiveness)
Be an adept business partner to non-finance stakeholders at all levels including executive teams.
Have an interest in one or both of the key areas of grant giving for the charity.
Be confident working in a small team environment, being hands-on where required.

The Role:
As the Partnerships Officer, you will support the Partnerships Team on business development, managing a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors, as well as researching new opportunities.

INTRODUCTION TO THE GLOBAL HEALTH WORKFORCE PROGRAMME
We are looking for 3 Administrative Assistants based in 1x Addis Ababa Ethiopia, 1x Hargeisa Somaliland & 1x Lilongwe Malawi
Funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), and managed by the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET), the Global Health Workforce Programme (GHWP) aims to develop the health workforce (HWF) in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria and Somaliland supporting them to build stronger, more resilient health systems for post-pandemic recovery and to make progress towards UHC.
Grants for UK-LMIC and cross-LMIC health partnerships will be awarded to respond to national HWF priorities identified through a scoping assessment carried out by THET with DHSC, FCDO, national Governments and stakeholders (such as local World Health Organisation offices). These grants will run until December 2025.
With a strong focus on building local ownership and sustainability, these partnerships will contribute to the following programmatic outcomes:
1. Partnerships contributing towards improved health workforce leadership capacity aligned with health workforce strategies, that will support reduction in gender inequalities.
2. Partnerships aligning with and contributing towards retention and wellbeing strategies.
3. Improved number and quality of training opportunities for health workers.
4. Co-developed and documented learning on health workforce interventions shared with key national and international stakeholders.
THET will award 28-36 strategic grants of £100,000 – £350,000 that feed into the country scoping priorities and outputs outlined above. The grants will broadly be split across the six countries; however, the exact split is dependent on the number and quality of applications received and broader priorities.
20-28 smaller grants of up to £50,000 will also be available for projects that tackle specific areas such as innovation, rural health facilities, diaspora engagement, leadership opportunities for women and protected groups, and the climate crisis.
Grants will be available to UK-LMIC health partnerships and LMIC-LMIC health partnerships. There are no institutional eligibility criteria as long as ODA rules are followed, so grants can be awarded to healthcare providers, royal colleges, universities, professional associations, NGOs, alliances, diaspora networks etc, but not to Ministry of Health departments.
