Job description

Prospectus are proud to be partnering with the inspiring organisation, Carers Hub, who work to improve carers’ lives in Lambeth through quality services and community engagement.  Carers Hub are an independent local charity, who work with carers aged five upwards. Whether financial, educational or otherwise, they seek to limit the challenges that carers face and achieve this by improving carer’s wellbeing, connecting carers to support and training opportunities, awareness raising and influencing local policy. They are now recruiting for a Hospital Carers’ Lead, to join their team, on a FTC basis, initially until March 2025.

As Hospital Carers’ Lead, you will develop and deliver a new service offer for Lambeth based carers, to increase identification of carers within local hospitals, and improve carer support during their hospital stay and following their discharge. Duties will include supporting unpaid carers while the person they care for is in hospital, via signposting and providing them with information about their rights, offering tailored short term 1 to 1 support, working collaboratively with partners to raise awareness of carers and increase identification and maximising support for carers through effective partnership working and improved referral pathways.

To be considered for this role you will have experience working and/or volunteering in Health and Social care setting and working in partnership with statutory services. You will also be comfortable working in a hospital setting, as well as a fast-paced environment. Candidates that have previous experience working for a hospital-based programme/hospital trust are highly encouraged to apply.

Please note, this is a part-time role, 21 hours p/w, spread across 3 days and you will be based on site at Kings College Hospital with occasion floating support required at St George’s. You will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS for Adults and children and please only apply if you are available to start immediately or have a short notice period.

Please apply with your CV only in the first instance (in Microsoft Word format). Cover letters are not required at this stage. We are reviewing CVs on an ongoing basis, so it is highly recommended to submit your application as soon as possible.  Following your application, you may be contacted by Prospectus for an informal discussion and may be asked to provide further information to assist with the recruitment process.

As a specialist Recruitment Practice Prospectus is committed to building inclusive and diverse organisations, and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Prospectus invests in your journey as a candidate and are committed to supporting you.
