Job description

Location: Central London
Contract: Temporary, 3 months
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Pay: £18.44 per hour (+ £2.23 holiday pay) (circa £33,655 salaried equivalent)
Start Date: ASAP

Prospectus is delighted to be supporting our client, a prestigious arts institute, in the search for a temporary People Services Assistant.

The role will be focused on delivering a strong service desk, ensuring a timely and effective response to queries, and acting as a helpful first point of contact. The successful applicant will contribute to an excellent employee experience throughout all stages of the employee lifecycle, and support the wider HR/people function, creating an excellent opportunity for an experienced assistant to utilise and refine their skills within a prestigious cultural organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support recruitment campaigns and coordinate hiring processes.
  • Manage job adverts, candidate communications and recruitment administration.
  • Conduct pre-employment checks, including Right to Work, references and DBS checks.
  • Prepare offer letters, contracts and new starter documentation.
  • Support onboarding activities and induction programmes.
  • Assist with payroll administration and employee record management.
  • Maintain and support the HR information system, including user access and data quality.
  • Produce HR reports and analyse workforce data.
  • Act as a first point of contact for HR queries, delivering a high standard of customer service.
  • Support learning and development, employee engagement initiatives and performance review processes.

Key Requirements:

  • Recent, relevant experience in a similar role within a charitiable or not-for-profit organisation, with knowledge of service desk operations and best practice.
  • Previous experience of iTrent
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach, with the capability to work both independently and in a team.
