Senior Campaigns & Public Affairs Officer
Location: Hybrid – Farringdon office & remote working
Contract: Temporary
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Salary: £42,661 FTE
Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for influencing policy and driving impactful campaigns?
Prospectus is delighted to be supporting a leading UK charity who are seeking a Senior Campaigns & Public Affairs Officer to provide vital support during the launch of a major new policy campaign. This is a temporary 2-month role offering a unique opportunity to contribute to high-profile public affairs and campaigning work that tackles poverty and financial insecurity in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide additional capacity across campaigns and public affairs during a fast-paced campaign launch.
- Support project management and cross-organisational communication.
- Monitor political and policy developments relevant to the campaign.
- Help plan and deliver a parliamentary launch event on 30th October (must be available in London on this date).
- Draft and disseminate compelling communications, including press releases, blogs, and supporter emails.
- Contribute to digital campaigning efforts using tools like Engaging Networks.
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all campaign materials.
- Centre the voices of lived experience in campaign communications.
- Identify strategic opportunities and influential contacts to support campaign goals.
- Represent the organisation at external meetings and forums.
Person Specification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in public affairs, campaigning, and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with digital campaigning tools (Engaging Networks preferred).
- Knowledge of UK politics, parliamentary procedure, and social justice issues.
