Welfare Caseworker
We are proud to be partnering with a great national charity in their search for a temporary Welfare Caseworker. This charity offers mental health and wellbeing support, employment support, housing advice and financial help to transform the lives of people of an occupational community.
This is a full time (37.5 hours per week), temporary role, running for 6 months in the first instance. They offer hybrid working, with 1 day on site in SE1.
As a Welfare Caseworker, you will assess, review, advise and support beneficiaries across the UK using a holistic and needs-led approach. To make recommendations for and provide support to beneficiaries in line with their grant giving policy.
You will act as the first point of contact for new and existing beneficiaries, and manage their caseloads, and make them aware of their eligibility for welfare benefits and other support. You will assessing their financial and social needs, and make decisions regarding the appropriate support.
To be considered for this role you will have at least 3 years of experience working in a similar role, dealing with those in need with confidentiality and sensitivity. You will need excellent interpersonal skills as you will often be dealing with people in distress. You will also need knowledge of the welfare benefits system and of other support agencies.
You will also need general IT skills (MS Office), accuracy in maintenance of all records and great attention to detail.
