£40,500 - £44,100 per annum

Fixed term (13 months), full-time (37.5 hours per week)  

Hybrid working with regular travel to our London Bridge Office 

What the job involves 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant Brand and Media (Attention) team within our wider Communications directorate. As the Media and Communications Manager, you’ll be the team’s lead on Health Services, Equity and Improvement (including policy and campaigns) and Research communications, delivering impactful media moments which inspire action and drive positive change for men with, or at risk of, prostate cancer.  

You’ll raise the profile of the cause and the brand, co-managing the activity of the charity’s media relations function and protecting the organisation’s principles and reputation. The impactful media messaging that you provide to a range of audiences will secure hard-hitting and compelling coverage, you can see our latest news stories on the Research and Treatment sections of our website.   

You’ll also be acting as line manager to the Senior Media and Communications Officer.  

What we want from you 

We’re looking for an inspiring and strategic storyteller, you’ll be an expert in leading communications projects to inspire action and drive change and with a track record of generating media coverage to deliver messages to a range of audiences. 

You’ll be an excellent communicator with a strong understanding of different communication channels and have specialist knowledge of media relations. Experience in building trusted relationships with colleagues, external stakeholders, and journalists is essential. With previous line management experience, you’ll have a motivation to help others achieve their full potential and actively supports our commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and allyship. 

With excellent organisational skills with strong analytical skills and an ability to digest complex information, often under pressure of tight media deadlines. You’ll have a flexible approach to handling both planned projects and reactive opportunities. 

This role will be fixed term for 13 months covering sabbatical leave.
