Senior Finance Executive
Duration: 3-Months Temporary
Working Hours: 9am-5pm (35 per week)
Hybrid: 1 day per week in the office, due to upcoming office move, there will be weeks this role will be full remote.

Pay: £20 per hour plus £2.41 per hour holiday pay (Equivalent to annual salary of £36,400 FTE plus holiday pay)
Charity People are delighted to be working with a leading professional body. They provide globally recognised qualifications and training. Due to a busy period, there is an opportunity to join the Finance Team for a period of 3 months.
As a Senior Finance Executive, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records during the year-end audit preparation process. This position requires strong analytical skills and strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare reconciliation schedules for accruals and pre-payments; reconciling deferred income; undertaking balance reconciliations and cash-flow forecasting.
* Reconcile the financial ledgers and ensure all accounting records are accurate and up to date.
* Assist with monthly bank reconciliations.
* Reconcile data between Sage 200 and other sources of information.
* Prepare supporting schedules in preparation for the year-end audit so that a first draft of the annual accounts can be prepared and reviewed with the Financial Controller.
* Prepare P11D's and PAYE Settlement Agreements, ensuring that the correct expenses are recorded and making payments where necessary to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
* Work closely with Finance Executive, Finance Assistant, and Finance Manager.
* Assist in additional tasks given by the Financial Controller.
Knowledge and Skills:
* The post holder must be part qualified accountant.
* Be proficient in the use of financial software packages (ideally Sage 200), customer relationship management databases, and Office.
* The post holder must be particularly skilled in the use of Excel - Vlookups, pivot tables, formulae including conditional formatting, tables, what if analysis, cell formatting.
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Have excellent organisational and time management skills and be able to prioritise effectively.
* Have an analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
* Have a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in the work output.
* Have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and audit procedures (ideally experience of preparation of year-end supporting documents).
* Ideally, the post holder will have experience of preparing VAT returns for partially exempt organisations.

Finance Business Partner
Salary: £42,000 - £49,000

My client is a specialist education provider supporting schools across London and South England. As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in supporting budget holders in their financial and strategic decision making. Working with a team of Assistant Finance Business Partners you will be responsible for the month end reporting cycle, periodic forecasting and yearly budget setting. Supporting a Regional Finance Business Partner, you will help translate financial information into insightful commentaries, and provide input into benchmarking, dashboarding and financial modelling as required.
Key areas of responsibilities;
- Lead and manage a team of Assistant Finance Business Partners and Finance Officers, including performance management, development, succession planning, sickness monitoring, etc.
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts pack (including income & expenditure, and balance sheet) to regular deadlines; specific duties will include: approve monthly journals, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, income analysis and inter-company recharges.
- To actively collaboration with the wider finance team to maintain and champion the integrity of financial information, specifically purchase ledger for supplier invoices, commitments, expenses and petty cash; procurement for contracts; and assets accountant for capital expenditure and maintaining fixed assets.
- To support and enable budget holders with budget management, exercising considerable judgement, in particular with Principals, School Business Managers HR and staffing resources, to problem solve where
Who are we looking for?
- A formally qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience accountant with relevant experience of financial accounting gained in a large, complex organisation (this could be commercial, Not-for-Profit or practice)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral, able to communicate effectively with finance professionals, senior management and trustees, and non-accountants to achieve cooperation and results
- Ability to manipulate data, analyse information, identify anomalies and extract pertinent information. Excellent attention to detail
