An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Grants Manager to join a fantastic charity working to provide long-term sustainable help to vulnerable young people, by working closely with organisations supporting families, schools and local communities.

Location: Hybrid working, 2 days can be from home and 3 days a week based in the Westminster office.

Salary: Circa £60,000

 As Senior Grants Manager you will be an ambassador for the Foundation and will lead implementation of the grant making strategy to provide opportunities for children and young people (0-25 years old). You will be responsible for National Grants, building a National Rural Grants programme and managing and developing the existing Grant Management team.

• Working closely with Philanthropy Director to develop a Grants Strategy across all

The successful candidate will have strong Grant Management experience (minimum of 5 years) ideally with a large funder and a passion for working to improve life chances of vulnerable children and young people. You will be collaborative and collegiate with a willingness to contribute to and strengthen a strong team culture to empower team members to lead and develop, and be an articulate and confident presenter, able to bring stakeholders together at the highest levels to unlock problems with strong skills of persuasion. Strong experience of improving processes and procedures in grant management is key and experience of capital projects/spend out of a fund would be helpful but not essential

The Role

You should demonstrate strong communication skills, resilience in problem-solving, and a coaching/mentoring style at all levels, while maintaining clarity, openness, and determination to achieve agreed objectives.

Experience:

• Significant leadership experience gained at senior level in a complex environment, ideally with good, first-hand knowledge of the research or health sectors, working with patients, families or vulnerable people.
• Evidence of leading the development and delivery of organisational strategy, key targets, service improvements and management of change.
• Solid track record of effectively managing resources and budgets, with experience of delivering long term financial sustainability and stewardship of valuable resources.

The NSP is looking to appoint an experienced independent Chair who will lead the National Safeguarding Panel, provide excellent leadership, direction and independent scrutiny and challenge to the Church of England and bring external expertise from holding a highly senior role. 

They are looking for an independent chair who:

• Is a gifted leader, who will support the Church of England in further strengthening its safeguarding arrangements and partnerships;
• Is passionate about working collaboratively at all levels, with a proven track record in improvement work at a national level;
• Knows how to hold organisations to account and possesses the skills to support the development of senior leaders;
• Has a good understanding and experience of the core aspects of safeguarding in the field of statutory and/or voluntary sector at a senior level;

Context and Responsibilities within this role:

During 2023 a significant body of work was undertaken to prepare for the commencement of the campaign in 2024, including soliciting a lead gift, preparing a strong case for support and preparing various projects for funding. Furthermore, OTW have begun cultivating relationships with prospective major donors; gaining the support of local politicians and businesses; paving the way for local community partnerships; etc, to facilitate the initial two phases of the campaign. The next steps are to set up a regional Development Board and begin to plan the approaches for major giving and alumni of the school site.

With support from the Capital Trusts Manager (writing proposals for grant-based funding), and the Individual Giving & Philanthropy Manager, the Capital Fundraising Campaign Manager will bring together this project and manage its progress towards agreed goals and timescales. Working closely with the Director of Development, Chief Executive and Head of Marketing, the Campaign Manager will represent the project both internally and externally, taking on a truly 360-degree role.

They are now looking for:

* Demonstrable experience in the Midlands region in a previous fundraising/ charitable project-based role
* Demonstrable experience of successfully researching and developing new relationships with HNWIs / celebrities/ ambassadors
* A proven track record in managing significant projects with timescales and visible outcomes, working with the organisation's Leadership
* Demonstrable experience of cultivating and supporting productive relationships with groups (such as a new Regional Development Board)

As a young man in the nineteenth century, William Willats, observed that the poorest people in the city of Bath, where he lived, didn’t go to church simply because they didn’t have suitable clothes to wear to a religious place of worship. As a Christian he felt the injustice of this and set about taking the ‘church’ to the people. He set up a ‘Spiritual Guide’ programme where workers would visit the poorest in society to read them the Bible, pray with them and help them understand God’s word.

The Trust currently owns and manages a property portfolio of in excess of £35m and awards approximately £500,000 a year in grants to support ‘Guides’ who bring the Good News of the Gospel to communities with little or no experience of or interaction with the Christian faith. 

We have an ambition to more than double that amount, transform our grant-making to be best-in-class and forge dynamic partnerships that extend the reach of the hope of the Gospel across UK and Ireland.

This role calls for a dynamic Chief Executive, with a Kingdom heart and commitment to evangelism, who brings a breadth of senior leadership experience, commercial skills, and prayerful wisdom in navigating the opportunities and challenges of the season ahead.

We are seeking a Chief Executive who:

• is passionately motivated to use their gifts to facilitate the resourcing of Christian workers to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the least reached and hardest to reach communities across the UK and Ireland.
• has experience in senior leadership in an organisation of a similar scope including setting vision, developing and delivering strategy and overseeing finances.
• is an inspirational team leader and an excellent communicator
• has commercial acumen with experience of assessing and making investment decisions involving property and other types of asset.
• has a servant heart, a highly collaborative nature and a passion to develop others
• has the focus and determination to deliver excellence, efficiency and growth.

The role is full-time and permanent although the Selection Panel would be open to someone doing the job on a 4 day a week basis. 

It is envisaged that a regular presence, likely to be 2 days a week, at The Willats Trust office in Bath will be necessary with occasional trips to other parts of the UK also required.

We are in search of a highly strategic CFO with a broad skillset which stretches beyond the remit of many financial leadership roles within the charity sector. The CFO will work closely with the CEO, playing a crucial role in the stewardship and optimisation of a range of assets and providing leadership to the finance team as well staff working in other functions.
