Job description

This is an opportunity based within a progressive local council in London. As part of the communication team you will work to deliver the communications strategies, transforming the way the organisation co-ordinates and prepare the content for newsletters and other media outlets.

Key responsibilities

  • Research and identify citizen groups and businesses to recruit as partners and ambassadors
  • Write, produce and schedule engaging materials of communications content, including digital press releases, social media and managing issues with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with multiple departments within the organisation to deliver cross-organisational communication plans.

Successful candidate will need to have these key qualities

  • Demonstrate experience of managing a diverse workload, being able to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Experience of developing engaging written and visual content for a range of channels including digital and printed materials in a timely manner.
  • The ability to work and develop relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders and to display high levels of customer service.
  • Proven ability to write content for various audiences including social media, strong organisation and administrative skills with great attention to detail.
  • Experience of working within a communications team.
