The Salvation Army is recruiting a Philanthropy Fundraiser for Scotland and Northern Ireland. This role will play an important part in generating income to support the crucial work that the charity does in Scotland.

The position of Philanthropy Fundraiser, Scotland and Northern Ireland will play a key role in developing support from charitable trusts & foundations and major donors in Scotland and Northern Ireland. You will take ownership of managing and developing fundraising relationships establishing new prospects and engaging with existing supporters.

Key responsibilities: 

• Manage & develop a portfolio of existing and prospective medium sized charitable trusts & foundations across Scotland and Northern Ireland 

• Manage & develop a portfolio of existing and prospective major donor gifts across Scotland and Northern Ireland 

• Research and identify prospective funders who align with The Salvation Army’s aims and objectives and key strategic funding priorities 

• Support the team with planning, organising and associated administration of any donor related events, including the annual Christmas carol concert reception 

Experience and skills: 

• Preferably the successful candidate will have previous experience of fundraising, with a proven record in generating income from trusts & foundations and/or major donors 

• You will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information to donors and colleagues in a clear, effective and professional manner 

• The successful candidate will have the ability to plan, organise and prioritise a varied workload to effectively meet your objectives to the expected quality standards and time scales  

The role is based in Scotland with hybrid working. Ideally the candidate will be based in the Central Belt of Scotland with the ability to access offices in Glasgow or Edinburgh with two days per week being office based. (preferably one of these days based in the Glasgow office) 

Salary: £31,224 plus pension, 25 days annual leave, life assurance, cycle to work scheme, travel loan and childcare vouchers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and deliver Communications strategy to deliver strategic objectives, in particular to raise our profile and improve understanding and reach of our work.

Work with the branch network where needed to act as liaison with regional and local media outlets to ensure PR opportunities are maximised

Act as the main POC for crisis comms planning with support from Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications (DFMC) and Deputy Director of Marketing and Communications (DDMC)

Act as the main POC for the crisis comms risk register and work with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure this is kept updated.

Ensure media training needs across the organisation are met and that anyone being interviewed by a media outlet is appropriately briefed and coached.

Accountable for the development, delivery and evaluation of the internal and change communications strategy that engages, motivates and informs employees and volunteers, ensuring organisations vision, mission, values and Standards remain at the forefront of delivery

Manage relationships with the organisations Celebrity Ambassadors as well as source new ones

Respond to political engagement requests where necessary.

Ensure that the senior management team is kept up to date with the latest relevant developments in national and regional government

Ensure that any crises which affect the wider sector are coordinated with counterparts at other organisations.

Consult on policy documents and coordinate the response from across the senior management team. 

Manage the out of hours press office ensuring that there is the opportunity for the organisations network to speak to a press officer 24/7

Promote, maintain and protect  brand, specifically supporting the branch network with reputational management issues and complaints as they arise

Ensure that any PR and digital communications and social media channels are aligned, appropriate and ‘on point’, helping to create relevant, integrated and timely messaging for their content

Plan, monitor and control budgets and resources to achieve agreed objectives

Work closely with the Head of Marketing, Head of Design, Head of Supporter Engagement, and wider teams to develop impactful, integrated campaigns which deliver joint objectives as part of the wider marketing and communications strategy.

Develop strong, collaborative relationships across the organisation and with key external stakeholders and partners.

Manage relationships with external agencies to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget and achieve agreed evaluation metrics.

About the role

We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager with great personality and team ethic to join our Regional Fundraising team.

This is a role of variety, opportunity and innovation, and we are looking for someone who embraces change and constantly strives to achieve more.

You will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver a legendary experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.

Bristol is an area filled with some of our most committed supporters but there is still so much opportunity to grow corporate support across the counties. Our Social Workers support families from Bristol hospitals, so building relationships with these teams are a must.

What you'll be doing:

• Sealing the deal - Secure strategic, multi-year gifts (six figures+) and build a pipeline worth around £350K.

• Driving results - Track and report on progress through Salesforce, providing clear insight into income, impact, and engagement.

Who we're looking for:

• Proven experience in high-value or philanthropic fundraising, with a strong track record of securing significant 5-6 figures gifts and multi-year partnerships.
• Confident, strategic relationship-builder with the emotional intelligence to engage senior stakeholders, trustees, and major donors.
• Excellent communicator and storyteller - able to craft persuasive proposals and deliver inspiring presentations.
• Organised and data-driven, comfortable managing multiple relationships and deadlines through Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
• Passionate about equality, education and creating opportunity for every child.

Bonus points if you've worked in education, youth, or children's charities, or have experience navigating the legal and ethical aspects of philanthropy.

Pancreatic Cancer UK is now seeking an experienced Head of Finance to take full ownership of the finance function. This pivotal leadership role will enable the Director of Finance, People and Operations to focus on strategic priorities while ensuring robust financial management, insight, and governance across the charity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Taking full ownership of Pancreatic Cancer UK’s finance function, including financial and management accounting, VAT, and statutory reporting.
• Partnering with directorates across the charity to develop budgets, forecasts, and reporting that support strategic decision-making.
• Enhancing the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of financial data to create a more forward-looking, insight-driven finance function.
• Leading the continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and reporting, driving efficiencies and better collaboration.
• Providing financial leadership during key projects, including a VAT review and ongoing improvements to forecasting and controls.
• Managing, mentoring, and developing a small but high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
• Acting as a trusted advisor to the senior and wider leadership team, ensuring financial risks and opportunities are clearly communicated and understood.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Head of Finance or similar senior finance leadership role, ideally within a charity or not-for-profit organisation of comparable size (£5m–15m income).
• Strong technical skills across both financial and management accounting.
• Excellent understanding of budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting and financial control.
• Experience leading and developing a finance team and driving process and system improvements.
• A collaborative and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience supporting fundraising and operational teams, ideally in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
• A proactive mindset and commitment to the mission and values of Pancreatic Cancer UK.

You will lead on Trusts and Grants Fundraising, build partnerships across the NHS and voluntary sector, and help shape innovative service models. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead and support bid writing and tender applications (with a value up to £350k p.a.) 

• Monitor tender portals for new opportunities and manage relationships with funders, commissioners, and partners in the voluntary sector 

• Support income generation strategies for the charity, including fundraising and training as well as developing business cases for new projects 

• Attend external events to grow partnership opportunities
