Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Executive Director to lead ProVeg UK in this next phase of growth and impact. This role combines strategic leadership with high-level stakeholder engagement, fundraising, and organisational development. The ideal candidate brings entrepreneurial energy, exceptional communication skills, strong credentials in the UK NGO sector, and a passion for food systems transformation.

ProVeg UK has a very strong track record in influencing public food through its School Plates programme, which has, to date, swapped over 47m meals from meat-based to plant-based or veggie. We work in over 8,000 schools across the UK, reaching over 1.3 million children every day. We are keen to expand this excellent work to a wider range of stakeholders, including hospitals (a new manager has just been recruited to develop a Hospital Plates pilot), policymakers, the corporate sector and media. 

The Executive Director will be at the forefront of this expansion, while also ensuring the continued success of our existing programmes. As such, this is a high-impact role, offering the opportunity to be a catalyst for positive change in the UK’s plant-based and alternative protein movement — helping to shape a more sustainable future.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and deliver ProVeg UK’s long-term strategy aligned with ProVeg International’s mission
• Lead the design and scaling of UK-based programmes that create measurable impact and reflect local opportunities and needs
• Represent the organisation to increase ProVeg’s visibility and influence.
• Sit as a member of the ProVeg C.I.C. Board.

Stakeholder Engagement & Fundraising

• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with strategic partners including food companies, government agencies, foundations, and major donors
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including government tenders and philanthropic partnerships, with a strong focus on climate and health-related funding
• Act as a public thought leader and spokesperson in the UK for food systems transformation in line with ProVeg International’s strategy
• Manage governance and engagement with the UK board

Team & Organisational Development

• Lead and support our fantastic, high-performing UK team and foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, impact and evaluation
• Provide regular coaching and feedback, ensuring clear objectives, performance development, and providing recognition
• Foster innovation, improvement and a growth mindset in the team, and identify new opportunities to grow our UK work
• Collaborate with ProVeg International teams and other ProVeg countries on shared programmes and goals

Financial Management & Reporting

• Develop and oversee the UK annual budget, ensuring financial sustainability and strategic resource allocation
• Ensure compliance with UK regulations, reporting requirements, and ProVeg International policies
• Provide timely and transparent reporting to the Deputy CEO, International team, and Board

Qualifications

Essential

• Proven leadership experience (5+ years at deputy- or C-level)  in a UK-based NGO or mission-driven organisation, ideally in food, climate, or health sectors
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and partnership building, especially with foundations, governments, or climate philanthropies
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset and ability to develop and execute impactful strategies
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience speaking to media and government bodies, at public events, and with internal stakeholders of all levels (Board, Senior Leadership Team, Staff and Volunteers)
• Deep understanding of UK funding landscape, policy environment, and relevant NGOs 
• Experience leading diverse and remote teams, with a collaborative and empowering leadership style
• Commitment to ProVeg’s mission and values, and strong alignment with our strategic goals
• Experience working with cross-functional and international teams
• Committed to following a plant-based lifestyle
• Knowledge of good governance practice
• Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to effectively fulfil the role of Director

Desirable

• Existing network of funders, policymakers, or influencers relevant to food systems or climate in the UK
• Postgraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. in public policy, environmental studies, food systems, business, or similar)
• Familiarity with effective altruism principles and evidence-based programme design
• Understanding of plant-based innovation, sustainable diets, or alternative proteins

Severn and Wye Nature Programme Manager

Severn & Wye Nature is an alliance of 14 environmental NGOs working across the Severn, Wye and Warwickshire Avon river catchments. As part of a major nature recovery initiative, we’re working to restore wetlands, create new woodlands and restore floodplain meadows. We partner with farmers, environmental experts and businesses to deliver shared goals for nature across a vast and changing landscape. 

Following a two-year development phase, we are now ready to move into delivery, building strategic nature recovery programmes across the catchment, and securing investment from public and private sector organisations at a level that will transform the scale of our collective impact.

About you 

We need an experienced, capable programme manager to lead and develop this ambitious partnership. You will require clarity of strategic thinking, excellent relationship and partnership management skills, substantial business planning experience, and very strong organisational skills. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about nature and who will inspire and support partners across the region to enable its recovery at scale. 

About the job 

This is a two year fixed-term contract but could be extended if progress is good.  We are offering a salary of £41-45k, depending on your skills, 25 days annual leave increasing to 30, a 7% pension contribution and a range of other benefits. The location is flexible within the region, and an element of remote working is expected.

The RSPB Finance Director role is a crucially important role for RSPB, reporting to the Executive Director for Finance, Governance and Strategy, and a part of the RSPB's senior leadership group.

What's the role about?

This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to:

• Drive the Finance department across all areas, including financial operations and budgeting and forecasting.
• Provide advice and support to the wider Finance, Governance and Strategy Directorate, Board, and other senior leaders on finance-related matters with a focus on strategy implementation.
• Engage with the Finance Committee and Audit and Risk Committee, leading on all financial matters.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

As a Mental Health Care Navigator, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with SMI to reconnect with their communities, addressing barriers such as social isolation, cost of living, debt, and physical inactivity. This role sits within the Mission and Evangelism Directorate. The role will seek to develop our safeguarding culture and practice. The Safeguarding Lead will work with individuals across all of Church Army including our employees, Commissioned Evangelists, and Mission Community. Our Youth and Play Workers will play a pivotal role in the Children, Young People and Families team, working as a core team of practitioners to ensure the smooth running of our programmes and services. In this role you will be part of a small and dynamic team which delivers a wide range of programmes and activities, both from Tulse Hill Adventure Playground and within local schools. The work of the Children, Young People and Families team is diverse and varied. Our current services include open access adventure play and youth activities at our Adventure Playground, school holiday programmes with off-site trips and activities, coaching in local schools, a Young Leaders programme offering paid work experience to young people, and working together with our youth partnerships Building Young Brixton and Lambeth Peer Action Collective.

To support our range of children and young people, our team will be made up of specialist Youth Workers and Play Workers bringing in relevant skills and experience. About the Degrees Initiative  

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. As an EDI Business Partner, you will be responsible for ensuring that a proactive, high quality, professional and appropriate business focused EDI service is delivered by providing first class advice, guidance, information and support to colleagues, across all areas of the organisation to assist them in delivering Barnardo's Corporate Strategy.

You will be a subject matter expert in EDI and will be key to embedding EDI in decision making, ensuring we are compliant with legal requirements, delivering on our EDI objectives, anti-racism and disability equality commitments, key EDI projects, supporting colleagues with lived experience and contributing to a culture of belonging across the whole organisation. The role holder will be expected to have a knowledge of EDI legislation across the UK.

Who we are

ADSS (Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Services) believes in enabling those who live with dementia to live well. ADSS is Kent’s biggest independent charity dedicated to providing support to people affected by dementia. Following a significant expansion in 2022, the team is now supporting more people than ever before. We are currently Kent Charity of the Year and Kent Disability Charity of the Year, and have a proven track record in delivering high impact services.

Summary of the role

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, the role will support the implementation of our 2030 Fundraising Strategy in collaboration with colleagues in Fundraising, Communications and Delivery Teams. The post holder will have responsibility for maintaining and growing Individual Giving, through key digital platforms. They will support the Head of Fundraising in researching and implementing new platforms as ADSS develops its fundraising capacity and capability.

The successful candidate will bring creativity, innovation, and great donor stewardship and retention skills to ensure that the Charity achieves its ambitious fundraising goals.

Main purpose of job

The individual Giving Fundraiser will be responsible for the delivery of ADSS fundraising from individual donors, primarily through digital platforms.

The post holder will handle stewardship contact with all individual donors and fundraisers with warmth and appropriate enthusiasm and sensitivity. Our supporters participate in a variety of events and have a range of motivations for giving to the Charity including families who are raising funds in memory of a loved one.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will gain exposure to a variety of income streams through collaboration with Fundraising colleagues and volunteers.

Together, you will explore opportunities to diversify ADSS’s funding streams and look for ways digital platforms can enhance Corporate and Community Fundraising and vice versa.

The Role Responsibilities

Maintain and grow ADSS’s income from individual supporters with a focus on digital platforms.

Lead on the delivery of acquisition and retention campaigns and optimising supporter journeys.

Create, plan, deliver and evaluate multi-channel, compliant, insight-led, supporter-centric campaigns.

Fundraising Strategy and Planning:

·Work with the Head of Fundraising to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, including regular giving, to support ADSS’s mission, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.

·Organise and execute fundraising campaigns and events, including individual giving, special events, and online fundraising efforts.

·Prepare and present detailed reports on fundraising progress to leadership and maintain an accurate pipeline.

·Monitor expenditure for individual events and campaigns to secure a profitable return on investment.

·Support the team to identify and develop new revenue streams to increase support for ADSS programmes and services.

·Keep up to date with industry developments to contribute to the overall development of the fundraising department. Continually monitor digital trends and be willing to adapt to this quickly changing area.

Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

·In collaboration with the Communications Team, increase our geographical area of reach and influence, across Kent, to grow our donor base.

·Work with families and the wider ADSS team to support the development of case studies to tell donors the stories of ADSS’s work.

·Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring their continued support.

·Implement strategies for donor recognition and retention, including personalised outreach, acknowledgements, impact reports, and engagement opportunities.

·Develop and maximise communication tools and materials to keep all donors updated with our key messaging and impact.

·Engage with the community through various communication channels, promoting the organisation’s mission and fundraising opportunities.

·Manage online platforms and income pages of our website to maximise the potential channels for donation.

Corporate and Community Partnerships:

Work with the Corporate and Community Fundraisers to:

·Develop Individual Giving programmes within Corporate and Community partnerships

·Ensure that digital platforms support their efforts to cultivate relationships with local businesses and community groups to secure sponsorships, partnerships, and in-kind donations.

·Engage community leaders and influencers to increase visibility and support for ADSS’s fundraising efforts.

·Explore the role of digital platforms in new partnerships to diversify revenue streams and enhance community engagement.

Donor Database Management:

·Maintain and update our donor database, ensuring accurate records of donations, communications, and engagement history.

·Analyse one-off and regular giving performance and optimise programmes based on insights

·Manage the Membership recruitment process

·Track progress towards fundraising goals, preparing regular reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.

·Work within GDPR and the Fundraising Code of Practice at all times.
