Job description

Within commuting distance of our campus in Peckham, London

We are recruiting for an experienced Administrator to join our regional ITE team. You will support our regional ITE Programme Manager, who is responsible for the proactive and effective planning, execution and administration of ITE.

About us

The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) has an unswerving commitment to high quality, evidence-informed teacher education, and is on a mission to improve the quality of teacher and leader development across the system.

About the role

The ITE Administrator reports to the programme manager alongside the regional Head of ITE and Deputy Heads of ITE. You will work closely with your counterparts across the NIoT to ensure that our ITE provision is well supported.

This is an exciting opportunity to initially support the planning and delivery of the ITE programme within the East, South and London (E,S&L) whilst we are in start-up mode and work in close collaboration with regional colleagues to ensure the provision is of high quality.

To be successful, you must be within commuting distance of our London campus in Peckham with occasional travel across the region and will work on campus four days per week with one day per week working from home by agreement with your Line Manager.

ITE team office hours are between 8.00am and 6.00pm with variation, so all hours are covered between the team – your working hours will be discussed at interview.

Key benefits

  • Highly competitive pay and pay progression opportunities.
  • Flexible start and end working times.
  • Flexible working opportunities, with significant scope for hybrid working.
  • At least 27 days’ holiday a year (plus 8 bank holidays) rising to 33 days after five years’ service (with an annual discretionary office shutdown between Christmas and New Year).
  • Entry to the highly valued Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Excellent opportunities to develop your skills and experience and to progress your career.
  • A stimulating, supportive and rewarding working environment with a dedicated team of likeminded professionals.

Diversity and inclusion

The National Institute of Teaching is committed to creating a diverse environment and ensuring that all qualified applicants receive equal consideration for employment. We are committed to fair and inclusive recruitment practices and are open to job shares, secondments, part-time, and flexible working schedules.

We think a wide range of different work and educational experiences could support you to be successful in this role. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, communities and industries, and are committed to employing a team that has diverse skills, experiences and abilities.
