Business Process Redesign & Transformation Lead
Rowcroft Hospice is an independent charity dedicated to making every day the best day possible for patients, and those closest to them, living with life limiting illness across South Devon. Supporting a community spanning over 300 square miles, specialist compassionate care is provided at home or at its dedicated inpatient unit when and where it is needed 24×7.
Funded predominantly through the generosity of its community, supporters, volunteers, shops and cafés, Rowcroft combines specialist care with a deep commitment to stewardship of charitable resources. Guided by its values of Respect, Honesty & Integrity, Team Player and Generosity of Spirit, the organisation is focussed on ensuring that every resource available is directed towards improving the experience of patients and families.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive, this highly visible interim appointment will lead organisation-wide business process redesign and transformation. The focus is not incremental improvement, but fundamentally rethinking how work is undertaken across Rowcroft to improve efficiency, productivity and sustainability while maintaining the highest standards of care.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing end-to-end processes and challenging established ways of working from first principles.
- Identifying opportunities to eliminate unnecessary activity, reduce duplication and improve productivity.
- Harnessing digital technology, automation and AI to simplify workflows and release capacity.
- Developing future operating models that better align resources with organisational priorities.
- Building robust business cases and ensuring benefits are measured and realised.
- Leading colleagues through change, embedding new ways of working and securing sustainable outcomes.
- Supporting clinical and operational teams to reduce administrative burden and maximise time spent supporting patients and families.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a commercially minded transformation professional with a proven track record of delivering hands on business process re-engineering, operational improvement and organisational change. Your ability to challenge assumptions, redesign ways of working and deliver measurable results is more important than sector experience.
The successful candidate will bring:
- Significant experience leading business transformation, operating model redesign and productivity improvement initiatives.
- A strong understanding of process optimisation, automation, digital technologies and emerging AI capabilities.
- The ability to move confidently from diagnosis and analysis through to implementation and benefits realisation.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and design pragmatic solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and change leadership capability, including experience working with senior leaders and frontline teams.
- Commercial and financial acumen, including business case development, supplier management and cost optimisation.
- A collaborative, respectful and values-led approach, combined with the confidence to challenge established thinking and make difficult recommendations when required.
Ultimately, you will be someone who is curious, delivery-focused and motivated by making a meaningful difference, helping ensure that more of Rowcroft’s time, money and expertise can be directed towards what matters most: delivering care for patients and those closest to them.
