Job description
About The Role
As Market Research Manager, you’ll take the lead on a varied portfolio of research that helps us understand our supporters, our audiences and the wider market. From brand and reputation tracking to supporter experience, campaign and event evaluation, you’ll manage projects from the initial brief through to the final recommendation, making sure the research we commission is robust, relevant and genuinely answers the question being asked. This is a role for someone who enjoys getting under the skin of a business issue, knowing when a brief needs challenging and choosing the right approach, whether that’s qualitative, quantitative or a mix of both.
Come and be part of the leading Armed Forces charity, making a difference to the lives of those who have served to keep us safe and protect our way of life.
You’ll work across the organisation, partnering with teams to shape research opportunities, manage external agencies and research panels, oversee budgets and make sure we get real value from the work we commission. Just as importantly, you’ll be the person who turns findings into something people can actually use. You’ll bring together research, data and wider intelligence, spot the story within the detail and communicate it in a way that is clear, credible and useful to the people making decisions. You’ll also play an important role in building research capability across the organisation, helping colleagues commission better research and use insight with greater confidence.
We’re looking for an experienced market researcher who is comfortable working in a complex, data-rich environment and can move easily between strategic thinking, detailed analysis and practical delivery. You’ll need strong project management skills, experience of multi-method research and third-party commissioning, and the confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll be naturally curious, analytical and willing to challenge assumptions when the evidence points somewhere different. If you’re someone who can take a complicated business question, work out what we need to know, lead the right research and turn the results into a clear course of action, this is an opportunity to play a central role in how we understand our audiences and make better, evidence-led decisions.
You will be contracted to your home address, and you will perform most of your work remotely there, with occasional travel (incl. For monthly team meetings).
Employee benefits include -
- 28 day’s paid holiday (plus bank holidays) increasing with service, with optional annual leave purchase scheme of up to 5 working days
- Enhanced paid maternity, paternity and adoption leave
- Generous pension scheme with employer contributions ranging from 6% to 14%, depending on length of service
- Range of flexible working options may be available, depending on your role
- Employee Assistance Programme providing confidential counselling, financial and legal advice
- Range of courses delivered by learning specialists to support your development goals and objectives
- Opportunities to volunteer
- Travel loans, Cycle to Work, and more!
