Job description

We are thrilled to partner with the Royal Pavilion & Museums Trust (RPMT) in Brighton and Hove, a charitable organisation dedicated to preserving its historic buildings and collections.

RPMT stands as a beacon of cultural enrichment, thanks to its dedicated staff whose expertise brings history to life. With captivating exhibits and the stunning Royal Pavilion, visitors embark on a journey of discovery and wonder. Their commitment ensures each visit is a memorable experience, fostering a deeper appreciation for our shared heritage.

RPMT is seeking a part-time Trusts & Foundations Manager to join their talented and passionate team. This is a maternity cover 1 year post. The main objective is to obtain funding for various initiatives such as exhibitions, educational programs, conservation efforts, and to help raise the match-funding needed to support a major capital development/restoration project on the Royal Pavilion Estate. The role involves overseeing and expanding the Trusts and Foundations Programme, as well as assisting in securing substantial contributions from individual donors. The successful applicant will work across all RPMT sites.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in researching potential Trust funders, submitting compelling proposals, securing funding (ideally with some experience of securing grants of £100,000+), and project managing successful bids through to completion of the grant award.
  • Experience in developing fundraising relationships with individual/major donors (ideally with experience of securing gifts of £10,000+).
  • Experience of providing excellent supporter care, building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with funders.

We are seeking an individual with advanced writing skills, encompassing copywriting and proofreading, along with solid analytical and research skills. They should also have the ability to establish connections with a wide range of people and uphold both internal and external relationships effectively. The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic setting, managing various responsibilities and meeting deadlines, will be crucial.
