About the role

Reporting to the Head of People, the HR Officer will primarily:

• Act as first point of contact on general HR & operational queries for the staff team and administer relevant files and email inboxes
• Champion staff well-being, delivering our staff well-being events and socials, and supporting in the deliver of new well-being ventures
• Support in the recruitment of diverse and effective staff
• Support in the onboarding, training and development of our staff team
• Look to where the People team may further develop and improve its processes and support for the staff team and Society, either to improve their own capabilities or those of other staff

35hrs, Mon-Fri | Staff can opt to work 32hrs over 4 days each week at no loss of salary

The Opportunity

A 6-month work placement with a UK charity starting this November.

Trade commercial expertise for invaluable insights into charity structures, funding models, cultural nuances and gain tangible deliverables showcasing impact. The experience will deepen your understanding of the charity sector and the preferences of hiring managers.

These hybrid roles vary, but all require marketing experience. Salary is at the living wage at a minimum. Roles are full time, with the option to discuss part-time.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Forensic Psychologist to support our service based in Croydon. Based at a 27-bed residential property which specialises in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. As a Forensic Psychologist, you will support individuals with specific needs, and offer a level of contact, support, and supervision to support our residents to reintegrate within society. You will be providing psychological assessments and support residents who have multiple and complex needs that need support from our staff teams to meet their personal goals. 

Penrose Croydon: A 27-bed residential property specialising in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. We offer psychologically-informed housing and resettlement support that comes with additional help for individuals’ specific needs. Our forensic mental health step-down services consist of four individual sites which cater for high and medium support for both, men and women.

Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week, shift pattern to be agreed. 

This role is the equivalent of NHS band 8B

WHAT'S SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL HOLD?

• Provide advice and guidance to the wider team on criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to resident/participant behaviours and engagement.
• Provide highly specialised psychological assessment for participants/residents with highly complex conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of data from a variety of sources, which may include neuropsychological testing. 
• Exercise full clinical responsibility for resident/participant psychological care as a care coordinator within a multidisciplinary team. 
• Formulate and implement plans for various therapy routes and management of assessing mental health conditions based upon appropriate conceptual frameworks and evidence-based practice.
• Discuss and negotiate care plans with all relevant internal and external parties.
• Undertake highly skilled evaluations and make decisions about treatment options and provide guidance and consultation to other parties contributing to the resident/participant’s diagnosis, formulation, and intervention plan.
• Facilitate one to one and group workshops and interventions, workshops, PIE training, and support with implementation plans across the organisation.
• Ensure all work carried out is compliant with Health and Safety, CPD activities and HCPC requirements.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Post-graduate doctoral level training in Applied Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPD (or equivalent awarding body)
• HCPC registration as an applied Psychologist with chartered status
• Previous experience working as a qualified forensic psychologist, including working with people with complex backgrounds/needs and a good understanding of the sector
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability to teach, train, consult, and deliver clinical supervision
• Understanding of criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to different behaviours and engagement
• Ability to understand and apply safeguarding protocols as they arise
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

Richmond AID has successfully delivered the BuddyUp project in Richmond and Kingston for more than 10 years. We have established referral routes into the project and good links for attracting volunteers. This role is to work supporting young people in the borough of Kingston and you will work closely with our Richmond BuddyUp Coordinator.

BuddyUp Coordinator is a fun and exciting role at Richmond AID which requires someone who is motivated, creative and can work from their own initiative. The Buddy Up Coordinator will match disabled young people aged 14 to 17 to a volunteer buddy who will support them to access services and leisure opportunities. This post will be based in our offices in Teddington and will predominantly cover the borough of Richmond though at times you may also provide support in the borough of Kingston.

Your role is to recruit and train the volunteers, and then match them with a young person, providing ongoing support to young people and volunteers. You will work closely with our Kingston Buddy Coordinator running joint monthly group activities. So far trips have included bowling, cinema, crazy golf, shopping, days out in London, laser tag, boat trips, etc.

About you

You will be organised, and ideally have experience of running a project and experience of working with disabled people and/or young people. Training can be provided. You will have excellent communication and IT skills, administrative skills and be fully competent on Microsoft applications. You will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

About the role

The Programme Manager will work in the Centre for Ageing Better’s Homes team.

Currently, millions of older people are living in homes that are unsafe – cold, damp, mouldy or with other types of hazards. The Homes team run a series of innovation, research, peer-support and influencing projects, that all seek to ensure that no one lives in a home that endangers their health, wellbeing or financial security. We work across local and national government and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.

The postholder would be responsible for collaborating with colleagues in the design, commissioning and delivery of a number of projects. The Programme Manager will use their creativity and experience to design work that has a clear route to impact, ensuring that everything we do has a traceable link back to the people we are trying to support.

The role will also require that effective programme management processes are followed to ensure effective, timely and impactful projects (e.g. milestone planning, budget management, risk, stakeholder engagement and delivery).

About you

You will be committed to trying to tackle the housing crisis, particularly for older people at risk of poverty, ill-health and facing discrimination. Knowledge of the current housing landscape and/or ageing issues would be an advantage but is not essential.

It is important that you can demonstrate excellent project management skills, designing and delivering projects that have a clear route to impact. Working collaboratively with others and experience writing and communicating complex ideas in an accessible way are essential.

You are likely to be overseeing projects that stimulate change at the local level through supporting service redesign processes, innovation practices and evaluation. Therefore, we are particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience working with organisations to adopt new practices or undertake service redesign, and/or who have commissioned or participated in evaluations.

About the Role

As HR Officer you will support the HR Manager in a busy HR function. You will play a vital part in ensuring a high-quality HR service and smooth running of the organisation, including overseeing the recruitment process and organising staff training. By focusing on the operational and administrative aspects of HR, you will help our creative, diverse community to thrive and to make a difference in the life of people living with brain injury.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1.  Act as first point of contact on all HR queries from the staff team, pass on complex HR issues to the HR Manager and manage the HR and recruitment email inbox.
2. Work with the HR Manager to update or create HR policies and procedures following best practice and keeping up to date with current legislation. 
3. Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring all elements are completed efficiently and effectively. Headway’s recruitment procedure includes: placing adverts, receiving applications, arranging interviews, taking up references, maintaining the diversity monitoring information, processing DBS, liaising with managers to organise inductions, and ensuring the smooth transition of new starters.
4. Laise with Line Managers to ensure smooth transitions for leavers, confirming last date, working out outstanding leave entitlement and arranging exit interviews.
5. Work with the HR Manager on employee relation issues including disciplinary, capability, grievances, and absence management.
6. Be responsible for the administration of Headway HRIS software  and collate HR reports from this as and when needed by the Senior Management Team and the Board of Trustees.
7. Work with the HR Manager to maintain and improve the staff training and development and ensure staff complete all mandatory and necessary trainings.
8. Maintain accurate HR records and information such as job descriptions, staff absences, changes to contracts, work patterns ensuring confidentiality and compliance with GDPR regulations.
9. In the absence of the HR Manager work with the Finance Team to provide up to date payroll information to our payroll provider.
10. Manage the administration of the pension, salary sacrifice, and staff benefit schemes.
11. In conjunction with the Volunteer Co-ordinator provide administrative support in the recruitment process for volunteers, including taking up references, processing DBS and issuing agreements.

We are looking for an exceptional Advocacy Manager to work within our Policy and Strategic Partnerships team.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic international charity that shared the 1997 Nobel Peace-Prize.

You will be working with the Director of Policy and Strategic Partnerships in the development and delivery of MAG’s advocacy work, including leadership of MAG’s UK parliamentary engagement, and contribution to the European and US engagement strategies.

Your role

As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Peterborough shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. You will be able to use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.

About you

You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays. You will also demonstrate an appreciation of Scope’s values and ambition of achieving Everyday Equality for disabled people.

It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day, so some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. We work 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Rota Coordinator is an essential and integral part of Team KSS, focusing on supporting the clinical team to ensure safe and effective medical staffing across all areas of Service Delivery. It is dynamic, challenging and at times fast paced. The post holder will be required to undertake the Service Delivery Scheduling in relation to agreed standards and ensure the delivery of Service Delivery Scheduling is of the highest quality within agreed policies and procedures, maintaining operational cover utilising the resources available.

To coordinate an effective Scheduling function in liaison with the Head of Clinical Workforce to ensure the effective delivery of service is maintained. This will involve managing consultant, Registrar and junior doctor rotas, ensuring compliance with the European Time Working Directive and New Deal, together with staff under Agenda for Change Terms & Conditions.
You will ensure that systems are in place to manage all leave and sickness for medical staffing and ensure systems are in place to ensure Clinical Risk/Governance requirements are met.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist in the delivery of effective, efficient, support service at all times, managing own workload without supervision, and be able to manage competing/conflicting demands on time.
- Responsible for day-to-day operational management of the roster, to ensure provision of planned resources against agreed schedules within the operational, dispatch and on-call rotas, and liaise with staff and Clinical Operational Managers (COM) to ensure rotas are planned and populated appropriately. Ensure “relief” hours are optimally allocated to balance hours worked vs contracted hours. Implement control measures to manage budget implications in the use of relief hours and emeritus staffing
- Assist in monitoring staffing requirements within designated Operation Areas in liaison with the Head of Clinical Workforce
- Check and authorise staffing swaps to ensure these maintain adequate cover
- Provide accurate and timely records of shifts undertaken by emeritus staff on a monthly basis to enable appropriate salary payments to be correctly administered
- In collaboration with the duty COM, arrange cover short-notice absences, allocating and recording emeritus shifts as required.
- Support the Clinical Director and nominated educational deputy in the rostering of the training/educational requirements, including compliance with mandatory training.
- Authorise and Input Abstractions in line with KSS policies and procedures ensuring that appropriate records are kept and annual leave allowances/TOIL are managed to maintain service provision
- Ensure that agreed procedures are followed in relation to the KSS Policy while on shift.
- Ensure that the Trusts computerised rota system is used appropriately in line with all KSS policies and procedures and the data held within the system remains confidential.
- In consultation with Clinical Operations Managers, prioritise use of own time and resources to ensure the best interest of KSS and of staff are observed.
- To attend relevant meetings & induction to outline the expectations of staff when in post in relation to absence reporting and rota compliance.
- Ensure that changes in circumstance of Service Delivery staff e.g grade/hours are actioned using KSS agreed policies and process, completing Staff Change Forms/Termination forms as necessary in collaboration with HR colleague
- Maintain effective working relationships with all departments within the KSS.
- Be flexible within the role and undertake other duties that are required and are commensurate with this role.

Context of role

Citizens Advice Birmingham is partnered with Macmillan Cancer Support to deliver Welfare Benefit Advice across Birmingham and Solihull

We are looking for an enthusiastic caseworker who will join an existing team to ensure delivery of service specifications, targets and quality standards for the Macmillan Service.

Role purpose

The Welfare Benefit caseworker will provide a high quality advice service for people affected by cancer.

The post holder will provide this service in outreach settings across Birmingham and Solihull. Delivery will be integrated within cancer care teams, to provide seamless referral pathways that complement the assessment and care planning process of patients. 

You will undertake casework, assisting clients to access their entitlement to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help, up to and including tribunal representation. The post holder will also attend events to promote the service and provide support and training to volunteers and health care professionals.
