Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust is seeking a dynamic and strategic individual to lead all aspects of fundraising and development during a 12-month maternity cover period.  As a key member of the Management Team, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive capital fundraising campaigns, deliver the Trust’s Arts Council England NPO Consortium, and expand core fundraising activities that support our charitable aims of Preservation and Learning.  You'll also play a vital role in developing new streams of charitable giving including corporate partnerships, individual giving, and legacy campaigns.

This is an exciting opportunity to support shaping the future sustainability of one of the UK’s most significant heritage sites. As Digital Communications Officer your core responsibilities will include:

• Creation of engaging, accessible and inclusive digital content to promote AdviceUK's services and campaigns, upholding AdviceUK's brand identity across all digital channels.
• Filming, photographing, creating, and scheduling organic and paid digital media content.
• Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to tell impactful, human-centered stories from members and stakeholders.

We'd love to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Strong experience in a digital communications or marketing role, ideally in a similar sized organisation with a social purpose. Commercial B2B experience is desirable but not essential.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver digital campaigns across social media, websites, and email.
• Strong copywriting, editing and storytelling skills with a flair for creative communication.
• Experience creating a range of digital content including video, infographics and blogs.
• Confident using digital communications tools including Hootsuite, WordPress, Salesforce or other CRM, and ideally Marketing Cloud Account Management

What You’ll Do
This role enables the DEC and our 15 member charities to effectively respond to humanitarian emergencies and provide timely, quality, community-focused assistance.

As an Accountability & Learning Officer, alongside your efforts to contribute to our learning and growth, you will shape our work to influence key policy agendas. You’ll be working across such areas as climate adaption, flexible funding for humanitarian action, and locally led humanitarian responses.

Overseeing our monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities, you will support the set-up of projects, build relationships, and co-ordinate activities in all our current operational theatres.

Specifically, your role will involve:

- Assessing humanitarian crises for DEC appeal eligibility
- Maintaining and improving reporting templates
- Setting up and overseeing key learning activities over the appeal cycle
- Overseeing our Collective Initiatives and Shared Services portfolio
- Supporting a range of DEC research and learning projects and reviews
- Helping members to achieve their climate and environment targets
- Leading the design and set up of regular learning events and workshops
- Acting as the key focal point for members’ and partners’ queries

What You’ll Bring
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and research design and/or implementation

We are looking for a Development Officer to support Portsmouth Cathedral’s fundraising and development activities. This new role, which is grant funded by the Cathedrals Sustainability Fund for 24 months, will work closely with the Head of Development & Fundraising to grow income, improve communication with donors, and help deliver key projects that support the Cathedral’s mission. We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Sports Executive. This is a unique opportunity to support a varied portfolio of high-value sporting events for Cancer Research UK including events such as the London Marathon, Great North Run, RideLondon-Essex 100 and Action Challenge Ultra Series. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver events which will not only be remembered by the participants and supporters but will also raise millions of pounds to fund our lifesaving research.

This is an exciting role with varied responsibilities which will help to develop and shape their careers. There is an expectation of some evening and weekend work to support our fantastic events all over the UK, but you will be eligible for time off in lieu.

What will I be doing?

• Working with the Sports Manager, account managing and developing various high-value relationships with 3rd party event partners across the portfolio 

• Work with the sports marketing team to inform the development of the Sports Team PR and social marketing plan with particular focus on our key events

• Proposing stretching sponsorship income and recruitment targets 

• Responsible for creating and managing Sports Team web pages and social media pages and producing innovative and bespoke content that is user friendly across all devices and briefing in social priorities

• Working in collaborate with our Event Delivery Team to support the planning and delivery of "On the day experiences", working with our operation teams and 3rd party event organisers to coordinate this.

• Managing annual cycle of each event within portfolio including managing the online registration platforms, updating event pages, opening/closing events and supporting on-the-day activities at events

• Through sector networking & tracking, establishing a solid understanding of our competitors and regularly conducting analysis that can be used to benefit the Sports Team as a whole

• Develop internal relationships with multiple teams across Cancer Research UK to maximise our internal Sports Team brand

• Play a key part in our Cancer Research UK on the day team for a number of Sports events (on weekends) nationally - such as the London Marathon, the Great North Run and other mass participantion events.

What skills are we looking for?

Main Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver a structured programme of enjoyable, recreational, high-quality activities to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities who attend Short Breaks clubs.
• To coordinate and take responsibility for the planning, allocation of places, and sufficient staffing to ensure safe delivery of Short Breaks clubs.
• To assist in the recruitment, training and ongoing development of the Disability staff team.
• Leadership and Line Management of a team of Play/Youth Workers and volunteers.
• Have responsibility for processing new referrals, initial assessments, individual care plans and any associated risk assessments or specialist plans to ensure we meet individual needs.
• To be the lead practitioner providing the staff team with advice, coaching and on-site management of club structure.
• To develop strategies and behavioural support plans for young people attending activities and access YMCA Disability Services.
• To be aware of Ofsted requirements and ensure Short Breaks clubs for children are compliant, with ongoing monitoring.
• Maintain and monitor agreed attendance levels and activity budget.
• To promote clubs and share stories via social media. Manage cohort numbers and waiting lists efficiently.  
• Lead in Administering medication, PEG feeds and undertaking movement and handling for children and young people with complex health needs. Undergo relevant training and transfer this knowledge onto the staff team.
• Work closely with individual children and young people and their families to identify a range of social, recreational and leisure activities to meet the needs of young people and children.
• Ensure that all young people are made to feel valued and enabled to develop and improve self-esteem, life skills, self-confidence and positive experiences
• To gain young people’s feedback, capturing their voice in shaping and evaluating future club sessions.
• Work closely as part of the delivery team, initiate programmed activities, alongside additional opportunities locally.
• To be responsible for the Health and Safety of children, young people and staff, above all, ensuring that Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults at Risk policies are adhered to.

We are looking for someone to take up an important role in our safeguarding team as a Safeguarding Manager. This role will be crucial in supporting our delivery team to safeguard the young people we work with and help ensure that IntoUniversity provides a safe environment for all of our young people at all times.

Salary

£35,500 per annum FTE (£28,400 pro rata). This will rise to £36,400 per annum FTE (£29,120 pro rata) from 1st September 2025.

London based candidates will also receive £2,600 London contribution (pro rata). The pro-rated amount is £2,080. This will rise to £2,700 (pro rata) from 1st September 2025. The pro-rated amount will be £2,160.

Annual leave 

Full-time staff entitlement, pro-rated for part-time staff: 33 days (inc bank & public holidays) + 3 closure days (two in December and one in July) + additional length of service entitlement (one day per year of service, up to 5 days) 

In order to be eligible for the role, applicants must:

• Have achieved a grade C/ grade 4 or higher in GCSE Maths and English/ achieved National 5s or Standard Grade at Credit level (grades 1-2) in Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Have previous experience of working with children or young people in a safeguarding capacity.
• Have a secure knowledge of key legislation and statutory guidance on safeguarding and promoting the  welfare of children.
• Have the right to work in the UK (please note that as a charity we do not have the capacity to sponsor work visas).

Job Purpose

You will work closely with the Head of Safeguarding, the Safeguarding team and the Senior Operations Team to provide a safe environment for all young people and families across our centres and programmes. With the support of the Head of Safeguarding and Operations, the Safeguarding Manager will contribute to the development of safeguarding policies, training, procedures and guidance to promote the welfare and protection of children and young people. Alongside the safeguarding team, you will manage the
coordination of referrals, arranging action and ensuring accurate monitoring and recording of all safeguarding cases.
