Key Responsibilities:

Role Purpose 

The primary role of the Research & Insights Officer is to support the Research & Insights Manager in conducting research and producing insights which supports the development of CAN’s conversations with advertisers around the issues embedded in its Guiding Principles and Guides.

Core Duties and Responsibilities  

• Assist the Research & Insights Manager in the design and managing of research and insights which support CAN’s mission.

• To support the Research & Insights Manager in creating producing insights and communications materials for the advertising industry and trade and national press i.e Member briefings, press releases and social media comms. 

• Awareness of, and regular reporting on, relevant research bodies and initiatives/ projects they are undertaking which help unearth new potential research areas where advertising is impacting human rights   

• Working with members and external partners to collaborate on research projects or to gain insights on the advertising ecosystem 

• Assist with project management to support the research and insights team, as well as the wider CAN team 

• Working with other teams internally to collaborate on projects where required, in particular supporting the communications to members. 

Measurement of Success 

• Successfully working alongside the Research & Insights Manager in the delivery of robust and interesting research projects and related communications materials, to ensure advertising works for everyone 

• Discovery of new issues and talking points to uncover emerging issues related to advertising harms 

Skills and experience (required) 

• Experience in the field of research or journalism

• The ability to produce clear, well-sourced and accurate briefings and summaries, or news articles 

• Ability to work both in a team and independently 

• Fast-learning self-starter comfortable to work in a fast-paced and wide-ranging work environment

What you’ll be doing:

As COO, you will play a critical leadership role in the strategic and operational success of LtL. You will work closely with the CEO and the management team to deliver the charity’s vision, overseeing day-to-day project delivery across the UK. The Bird of Prey Project is a registered charity and multiple award-winning visitor centre and zoo working to conserve birds of prey, restore habitats and make wildlife education accessible. At this exciting time for the organisation, we are looking to recruit a new Charity Manager who can manage the visitor centre whilst working alongside the Board of Trustees to develop strategy and objectives for the charity. You will have the incredible opportunity to lead a team working to inspire the public about wildlife, develop the highest standards of bird welfare and restore populations of wild raptors.  

What is the role about?

The Charity Manager works directly with the Board of Trustees to manage the charity and visitor centre.

The visitor centre receives over 10,000 visitors per year who provide the majority of the charity’s income. The senior bird team provide a high standard of ethical raptor care to over 20 species, using restraint free management and free-flight techniques, and also deliver experiences and displays to the public. The Charity manager works to ensure that the site is safe and compliant with law & best practice, the senior bird team are provided with adequate resources and that the visitor centre is meeting goals for income generation.   

The charity’s mission is to Conserve birds of prey, restore habitats and make wildlife education accessible. The Charity Manager over-sees the staff team delivering the charity activities, ensuring work is recorded and reported correctly.

You would also be responsible for line managing both Deputy Centre Managers. You should be confident in making decisions and able to balance opportunity and risk. An ability to operate within and develop governance, finance and risk frameworks is also a key part of the role, and whilst a background with working with birds of prey or in wildlife conservation is not necessary, you should be passionate about The Bird of Prey Project’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Line manage and lead personal development of the Deputy Centre Managers.

ORCA are looking for an outstanding Training Manager to join their team and help the charity take the next step in the evolution of their programme of e-learning training courses to help more people than ever to help protect whales and dolphins.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the power of education, a systems thinker who is able to take the e-learning system ORCA have built and maximise it's capabilities. Responsibilities and Person Specification:

The Head of Governance will lead the charity’s small Governance and Risk, and Facilities teams. They are responsible for governance, company secretarial, risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, information governance, procurement and contracts management, business continuity planning, and management of facilities and the charity's office and small portfolio of other properties.

The role would suit someone who enjoys a broad remit and working with colleagues across the charity, who can think around issues and implement pragmatic solutions. As the role has a wide remit, the ability to learn quickly will be key. Candidates will need senior level experience of charity governance, risk management and safeguarding, ideally working with adults at risk. Applicants will need to be good communicators, verbally and in writing.

This role is 0.5FTE (17.5 hours per week). There is some flexibility around how the hours can be worked, but hours would normally be worked across 2.5 days a week, with attendance required at specific times for management and trustee meetings. Office attendance will be required on average 2 days a week for meetings and due to responsibility for office management.

Job Title: Executive Administrator 

Location: Central Office which is based around a 10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington Station. Hybrid working available, approximately 2 - 3 days per week in the office including every Tuesday. Additional office, service, and away days would be required for attendance.

About the role

We're looking for an Executive Administrator to join our central office team, reporting to the Director of Finance and Resource. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-level administrative and governance support to various leaders within the organisation, including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), The Board, and CEO. 

In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation of coordinating meetings, managing governance processes, and supporting strategic initiatives. You will facilitate board and SLT meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking formal minutes, and ensuring a timely follow-up on actions, whilst overseeing compliance with health and safety regulations, supporting the organisation's environmental strategy.

You will further line manage a small team of 2 Administrative Support Officers who support with the day to day administration and management of our central office.

You will be a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills, both verbally and written. You will be able to organise and manage events and away days, as well as manage our booking systems and general running. You will have proven minute taking experience, able to write minutes for meetings in an organised manner, and manage our shared online platforms for ease of access, and usability. You will have:

About the role

We are looking for a skilled trusts and foundations fundraiser to join the Business Development team at ClientEarth for a 12 month maternity cover. The Business Development Officer role will involve researching, cultivating, applying for and securing new strategically aligned funding from trusts, foundations and governments around the world.They will manage their own portfolio of prospective funders and liaise with ClientEarth’s global teams across different programme areas and geographies.Joining ClientEarth’s thriving and growing Business Development team, the postholder will use their skills and experience to support the essential work of one of the world’s most ambitious environmental organisations, and help protect our planet in this crucial decade. 

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Carolina Bejarano, Development Manager within ClientEarth's Business Development team. Carolina brings over nine years of experience in the public and international development sector, with a strong track record in securing funding from trusts, foundations, corporate and institutional donors. She has worked with a diverse range of NGOs, supporting programmes focused on humanitarian aid, human rights, and sustainable development. She is based in our London office.

Main Duties

• Undertake prospect research and due diligence to scope potential new funders 
• Draft clear and compelling fundraising materials including cases for support, funding proposals, and concept notes 
• Meet with funder contact points to understand their interests/priorities, present proposals and provide insight to ClientEarth’s work 
• Support the development and improvement of team systems and processes to enable effective and efficient working

• Experience of working in a fundraising role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity (essential)
• Experience of drafting compelling proposals for trusts, foundations and statutory institutions (essential)
• Experience of supporting the relationship development process with a new donor, from prospect research through to cultivation (essential)
• Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication (essential)
