The Deputy Safeguarding Advisor is a very important role at the Diocese, as you will provide advice to parishes on safeguarding issues, cases and incidents to help ensure that our parishes, the Cathedral and the Diocesan offices discharge their responsibilities for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults who may be at risk of abuse or neglect.

Reporting to the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer and working within the Safeguarding Team, you will support and carry out casework which will also include reviewing safety plans and/or safeguarding agreements, assessing and managing risk of harm and undertaking risk assessments on blemished DBS checks or Confidential Declarations.

As Deputy Safeguarding Advisor, you will provide best practice advice to all stakeholders and partners as well as participating in the Diocese of Canterbury’s Safeguarding Executive Group and Diocesan and Cathedral Safeguarding Advisory Panel, whilst taking responsibility for preparing reports when requested.

Working closely with the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer, you will also coordinate the Diocese’s response to victims and survivors of church-based abuse which includes ensuring that victims and survivors are assisted in accessing relevant support services.

With a relevant professional qualification or equivalent (for example, social care or criminal justice) you should have significant experience of undertaking safeguarding risk assessments and professional safeguarding expertise and experience in a relevant statutory, voluntary, or judicial agency. 

Practitioner experience of working with victims and survivors of abuse and with offenders and perpetrators of abuse, is also essential.

You should have an understanding of the broader safeguarding field including its social and political context along with an in-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation in relation to safeguarding children and adults, as well as having experience in using appropriate interview models with victims, survivors, and respondents.

Experience of contributing to case review processes and identifying and disseminating lessons to be learnt, e.g. Serious Case Review, Domestic Homicide Reviews, would be desirable. It would also be beneficial but not essential for you to have an understanding and good working knowledge of the Church of England, its organisation and governance structures.

You will be required to travel across the Diocese for meetings, so the ability to travel to remote locations and work flexibly is a necessity. This role will also be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

As a Database Administrator you will help manage one of our biggest investments, our Fundraising CRM. Reporting to the Database & Insight Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our fundraising database is effectively maintained and up to date.

You will assist with the administration and processing of donations, month end reconciliation, gift aid processing, and maintaining database records. You will manage day to day support and improvement of the database by completing regular housekeeping tasks that ensure data integrity and consistency is maintained.

The person will:

· Process income on the CRM database from a variety of sources, including online platforms (LHC website, JustGiving, Give as you Live, etc.) and BACS donations.

· Maintain accurate Gift Aid information and help prepare data for Gift Aid claims.

· Utilise Microsoft Excel to manage the import and export processing for internal and external data sets.

· Assist with monthly financial reconciliation support as needed.

· Ensure high standards for all supporter data entry and help to ensure data is kept accurate and up to date on the CRM with a focus on supporter preferences, change of addresses, etc.

· Ensure we are compliant with the UK's data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

The successful candidate will have:

· Previous experience working with data management using CRM systems.

· Excellent IT skills and be confident and proficient in working with Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and CRM systems.

· Have an excellent understanding of marketing consent and GDPR

· Have a resourceful and logical mind with great attention to detail and high standards of accuracy

• Lead on delivering our Volunteering Strategy and action plans

  What We’re Looking For:

• A relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 in Management or equivalent).
• Significant experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers — including hard-to-fill roles.
• Strong knowledge of Safer Recruitment practices and volunteer management systems (or HR equivalents).
• A successful track record of delivering complex volunteer projects to deadlines.
• Experience working in the charity sector, with a solid understanding of volunteer leadership, recruitment, and retention challenges.
• Confidence in using data to analyse trends and improve volunteer engagement.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, including data protection.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong IT literacy.

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Facilities Technician with a strong electrical background who’s confident working across a wide range of maintenance tasks. From fault finding, modifications, new installation, and repairs to compliance checks and planned preventative maintenance, you’ll play a hands-on role in keeping our sites safe, functional, and fit for purpose.

What you’ll be doing as our Facilities Technician :

• Carrying out electrical installs, maintenance, testing, and fault diagnosis across sites
• Supporting general building & maintenance works (basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc.)
• Managing and prioritising tasks using our CAFM system
• Ensuring safety compliance across all work and documentation
• Collaborating with contractors and supporting projects and upgrades

What you’ll bring as our Facilities Technician:

• Experience with electrical systems (single/three phase, SWA, BS 7671)
• Good knowledge of H&S, compliance, and building maintenance standards
• A team player with strong initiative and a proactive, can-do attitude
• Comfortable using digital systems and interpreting technical documentation
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors and at height

18th Edition certifications and a driving license is required

You will support the development and delivery of our schools, youth centre and detached programmes. We are looking for an Individual Giving Officer with experience and knowledge of fundraising, direct marketing and project management.

The Role

You’ll be part of an ambitious and highly motivated team responsible for delivering an ambitious and growing Individual Fundraising programme. Working with other officers, you will be reporting to either the Individual Giving Lead responsible for cause related products, or for gaming products.

You’ll be:

• Enthusiastically managing and delivering a range of fundraising and engagement campaigns and communications to develop and maximise support from loyal supporters via multiple channels, including telephone, mail, digital, and SMS.
• Using your fundraising and marketing experience and skills to create successful campaigns and complex supporter journeys to help us grow income and supporter engagement. (Working collaboratively with Digital and Social Teams, as well as external media agencies). Helping deliver on multi million annual plans to retain and recruit new supporters using the most effective techniques and channels, including Face to Face.
• Comfortable with figures and spreadsheets and have a head for figures, as you’ll be diving into the data an managing campaign costs.
• Responsible for maintaining and reporting accurate campaign results and reviews.
• Always looking out for new opportunities, using sprint pipeline methodology (testing, solving, learning from experiments) before scaling.
• Ensuring campaigns and gaming activities are fully compliant at all times… a knowledge of Gambling Commission rules would be a bonus.

About You

We’re looking for an individual who:

• Has great experience and knowledge of fundraising, direct marketing and project management, and can bring a real enthusiasm to the team. This role has a specific focus around supporter acquisition which includes face to face, paid digital, direct mail, telemarketing and eMarketing.
• Is fantastic at organising and prioritising a busy workload and knowledgeable of project management.
• Loves attention to detail and can work on several projects at once whilst thinking outside the box, as things can change quickly!
• In fact loves data and insight and enjoy applying insight to our campaigns

The responsibilities of the Assistant Finance Business Partner will include:

• Producing management accounts for relevant budget holders and contributing to GPA’s client budget process
• Partnering with the LCR and Net Zero programme managers and external partners to ensure that all expenditure has been accurately assessed based on project completion and integrity is applied
• That regular reconciliations and sampling of the project accounts are completed including timely project closure assessments
• Provide advice on financial treatment of project costs to ensure that all items are correctly assessed for capitalisation, and that the treatment of abortive costs and feasibility works are appropriately treated as RDEL, while being allocated to the correct projects
• Attendance at monthly stakeholder meetings to support the management of projects, supply chain and client relationships

• Building a network internally with other finance teams to ensure smooth transition of data and knowledge between interlinked processes, and contributing as part of the wider finance team

• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations including accruals and prepayments
• Analysing financial performance to identify variances and ensuring transactions are accounted for correctly
• Preparing and processing journals
