About the Role

We are seeking a capable Peer Supporter who will support mothers and birthing people in community settings in Coventry and Warwickshire. This role will mainly be based at Coventry: Pathways Family Hub (CV6 1HD), Park Edge Family Hub (CV2 1NE) and Aspire Family Hub (CV1 2SF) and Rugby: Claremont Children’s Centre (CV21 3LU) (expenses will be reimbursed).

You will be responsible for offering perinatal peer support for mothers and birthing people within the community. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

· Providing mental health and wellbeing support to mothers and birthing people in community settings in Coventry and Warwickshire.

· Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters. 

· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team  for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.

· To attend regular supervision/support sessions. 

· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Coventry and Warwickshire area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.

· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Parents in Mind Peer Supporter. This requires experience of perinatal mental health challenges. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 12 hours per week which will be predominantly Tuesday to Thursday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at community settings across Coventry (Pathways Family Hub (CV6 1HD), Park Edge Family Hub (CV2 1NE) and Aspire Family Hub (CV1 2SF)) and Rugby (Claremont Children’s Centre (CV21 3LU).

This role might suit applicants wwith experience of giving advice and supervising advice services, but it also offers opportunities to develop skills and knowledge around Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, as the Financial Resilience Navigators project is a pilot that will be externally evaluated.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter, and someone who is passionate about the work of CJA members. 

The Policy and Public Affairs Manager will monitor and map the criminal justice policy landscape, tracking developments across the system. They will engage with MPs, civil servants and key stakeholders, bringing evidence from our membership and the voices of those impacted directly by the criminal justice system to government to influence change.

The postholder will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have demonstrated evidence of impact in policy and public affairs. They should be confident in building relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, be a collaborative and inspiring team player, show commitment to our values and share a passion for the CJA’s vision and mission.

Main responsibilities

Public Affairs (50% time)

• Develop and implement the CJA’s public affairs and influencing strategy to advance the CJA's objectives.
• Work with CJA members on influencing specific legislation, including campaigning around bills, writing amendments, and working with MPs and Peers to promote them within the legislative process.
• Stakeholder engagement (Parliament): Build and maintain relationships with key policy makers and parliamentarians through face-to-face meetings, providing briefings to MPs and Lords for Parliamentary debates, preparing written/oral questions, and attending Select Committees, APPGs, Parliamentary receptions and other relevant roundtables and events.
• Stakeholder engagement (other): Build and maintain relationships with other key stakeholders, including Police & Crime Commissioners, the Victims Commissioner, HM Inspectorates, civil servants, and other relevant bodies.

Policy and Research (40% time)

• Monitor policy and political debates and developments on criminal justice issues, horizon-scanning emerging policy issues, and where appropriate, disseminate and brief colleagues and CJA members.
• Maintain a repository of evidence briefings from CJA members.
• Identify proactive and reactive opportunities to promote and embed CJA and members recommendations and research.
• Produce high quality and influential policy briefs, reports, position papers, and responses to consultations, to advocate for changes in policy and practice put forward by CJA members.
• Lead on the monitoring of policy engagement and impact by using our evaluation tools and work with external evaluators as required to capture impact and utilise learning.
• Work with CJA members, people directly impacted by the justice system and other key stakeholders to harness and amplify their expertise and insights.
• Lead the co-ordination and establishment of member expert groups to inform our policy work.
• Develop opportunities for joint working with researchers / research organisations and manage that partnership work, including co-ordinating the CJA research symposium.

Other (10% time)

• Work with the Communications and Engagement Manager to respond to media and other communication opportunities to promote the CJA’s work and to contribute to national debate on criminal justice issues.
• Work with the CJA team to recommend and secure relevant speakers and presenters for CJA meetings and events. 
• Support the Communications and Engagement Manager to develop content for the website and other internal and external communications, such as blogs and articles.
• Contribute to the general administration and delivery of CJA programmes, events and overall objectives.
• Work with the Director to support the development of potential fundraising bids and reporting progress to funders.
• Conduct the duties of the job description in accordance with the operational policies of the CJA, including the Diversity and Adult Safeguarding Policies.

Independent Age is the national charity focused on improving the lives of people facing financial hardship in later life. We believe no one should face financial hardship in later life.

Our Helpline and expert advisers offer free, practical support to older people without enough money to live on. Through our grants programme, we support local organisations working with older people across the UK.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

The Head of Governance will lead the charity’s small Governance and Risk, and Facilities teams. They are responsible for governance, company secretarial, risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, information governance, procurement and contracts management, business continuity planning, and management of facilities and the charity's office and small portfolio of other properties.

The role would suit someone who enjoys a broad remit and working with colleagues across the charity, who can think around issues and implement pragmatic solutions. As the role has a wide remit, the ability to learn quickly will be key. Candidates will need senior level experience of charity governance, risk management and safeguarding, ideally working with adults at risk. Applicants will need to be good communicators, verbally and in writing.

This role is 0.5FTE (17.5 hours per week). There is some flexibility around how the hours can be worked, but hours would normally be worked across 2.5 days a week, with attendance required at specific times for management and trustee meetings. The Role

We’re looking for a confident and motivated individual to join our team as a Training and Support Officer. Job Purpose

As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for delivering professional customer service, work collaboratively across the organisation, and contribute to the success of the corporate plan. You will actively support residents and the community, promoting a One Phoenix approach and focusing on providing excellent homes and services while upholding the organisation's values.

Financial accounting

• Oversee payments, purchase ordering, accounts payable, and ensure accurate recording of transactions in the general ledger.
• Lead the annual statutory audit, prepare statutory accounts, and coordinate with external auditors.
• Manage tax returns for Phoenix community Housing and subsidiaries (VAT, Corporation Tax) and ensure compliance.
• Approve monthly payroll with People Services, reconcile salary/pension accounts, and ensure control accounts are cleared.
• Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts, process journals, and oversee company insurance administration

Management Accounting

• Collaborate with finance business partners to provide consolidated monthly accounts, financial statements, and cash flow reports.
• Assist the Head of Finance in finalising all financial reports for the Executive Team and Board

Reporting

• Participate in the annual budgeting process and update the business plan until Board approval is obtained.
• Assist the Head of Finance in preparing and submitting regulatory statutory returns to the Housing Regulator, Financial Conduct Authority, and Companies House.
• Regularly review and maintain the Chart of Accounts to meet the organisation's reporting needs.
• Ensure internal compliance with the delegation scheme, report emerging issues, and update the Asset and Liabilities Register.
• Lead or participate in internal audits and stay updated on accounting standards to ensure compliance with best practices.

Rent & Service Charge

• Manage the Rent and Service Charge Accountant to ensure proper accounting of rental and income transactions in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Inspire and drive team performance, ensuring development, target achievement, and value for money principles.
• Contribute proactively to residents and the wider Phoenix community Housing, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Take ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring positive outcomes and cross-team collaboration.

The Successful Applicant

• Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAEW, CIPFA etc)
• Significant experience as a senior member of a finance team within the Social housing Sector
• Experience of preparing VAT under the partial exemption regime, and a VAT shelter
• A positive approach to excellent customer service, care delivery and a commitment to quality
• Can demonstrate working independently and as finance lead with board responsibilities. (Experience in a Mid sized Housing Association is preferable).

Care & Repair in Powys is seeking two Falls Prevention Officers to join our small and friendly team.
