St Christopher’s Learning Support Team are looking for a part-time (2 days) Senior Learning Mentor for the London Region to cover the London Accommodation Pathways  (LAP) and other Services we provide.

About the Role

The Learning Support Team offers support to Teams helping young people to develop core skills – both practical and academic, widen their existing interests, and explore new ideas. You will be involved in delivering group and one-to-one sessions, Maths and English tuition, tailored to individual needs; working with the rest of the team around the young person to ensure all our young people are provided with appropriate access to education engagement.

We believe everyone has a right to learn in the way that suits them best, so there is no such thing as a typical anything about this job. Sessions can take place anywhere from the beach to the kitchen via the garden and the gym. As with all the other teams and services the unexpected is every day in this job –but with us that can take any one of a range of unanticipated directions, someone gets excluded, in the transition of a School place, an emergency placement by someone suddenly turns up or doesn’t as the case may be.

We are also looking for people to join our bank of sessional staff – a bit like being available at short notice, like Supply or doing some overtime. • Delivering on all the Health Project contracts to increase the accessibility of primary care services and reduce health inequalities for people with disabilities in Wandsworth and the UK.

Person Specification

We recognise that not every candidate will have all these skills and experiences but are looking for somebody who can show us that they meet a high number of them.

As a Specialist Housing Partner you’ll provide a high quality, efficient, effective housing and support service to customers that live in their Specialist Housing Schemes including Independent Living Schemes, enabling them to feel safe and supported to live well and independently for as long as possible. About the role

The Partnerships Officer role will be part of the Business & Industry team (11 people), who have responsibility for all funding and industry relationships across EngineeringUK. The team works strategically with stakeholders across the engineering, technology and education sectors, to support our mission to increase the number and diversity of young people choosing engineering and technology careers.

As part of the New Partnerships team (3 people), you will be helping to identify and secure new relationships with industry, to support delivery of all four areas of our organisational strategy: research and evidence, collective action, activities for schools, and advocacy.

The post holder will be flexible and skilled, with an essential interest in and experience of working with migrant and refugee clients, many of whom have additional complex needs. You will work closely with our immigration caseworker manager to provide one-to-one specialist immigration advice and casework to migrant and refugee clients in Brighton & Hove and across East and West Sussex in the areas of immigration & asylum up to OISC L2. We are currently the only free, Level 2-accredited, year-round provider of out-of-scope immigration advice on the South Coast, and increasing local immigration capacity is critical to address growing demand and changing demographics in the region. Our current core caseload is largely non-EEA nationals whose immigration cases are out of scope of legal aid. However we are also seeing and will continue to see new arrivals and emerging needs in the region including Afghans resettled under the ARAP and ACRS schemes, Sudanese evacuees, EEA nationals who still have not registered for pre-settled or settled status, and an increasing number of both newly arrived and established asylum seekers placed in emergency (‘contingency’) and dispersal Home Office accommodation.

The balance of time spent between different client groups and cases will therefore need to be responsive to the changes we see in the city and region. Many of our clients also have complex additional needs including health and homelessness and the post holder will be expected to liaise closely with our generalist caseworkers and external providers to ensure that people’s holistic needs are met.

You will work as part of a small, supportive advice and casework team that also includes two generalist advice caseworkers, an employability caseworker, a groupwork facilitator and four dedicated resettlement caseworkers who are supporting newly resettled refugee families mainly from Syria and Afghanistan.

Regular supervision and support and in-house and on-the-job training will be provided, as well as external training on specific issues where needed. However you will need to be ready to step immediately into a busy advice environment with the necessary confidence, skills and knowledge to begin to deliver advice and casework and pick up an existing caseload.

Ideally you will already be OISC L2-accredited, but if only L1-accredited you must be willing to work towards accreditation within the 6-month probationary period.

Postholders will need to have the right to work in the UK.

The successful candidate will work with the Head of the Gambling Action Lab (GAL) and the Senior Research Officer to bring together a handful of representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling-related financial harms. They will build and maintain stakeholder relationships and play a key role in facilitating group discussions with financial services representatives. This exciting role will also involve driving and promoting the work and visibility of the GAL, and planning and delivering a programme of events to promote our work.

About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Purpose:

To provide strategic oversight and operational management for Women in Prison services in Surrey. The role will focus on delivering Surrey Women’s CRS probation contract, which involves providing holistic one to one support and advocacy to women serving community orders, and will also focus on development of the Surrey programme.

1. Lead on the operational management and strategic oversight of the Surrey programme, ensuring high quality, trauma responsive services are delivered to women in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with, the criminal justice system.

The post holder will coordinate and provide information-based sexual health outreach services, testing and brief HIV prevention interventions in commercial venues and at events across London. Interventions will predominantly target people who may be at higher risk of HIV and STI acquisition, particularly amongst higher prevalence communities such as Gay, Bisexual and Men who have Sex with Men (GBMSM), Black African and Trans communities.  This role will involve working within sex on premises venues frequented by GBMSM and would therefore be best suited to someone from that community. Programme

The post holder will be a member of the GMI Partnership team, based at METRO, working closely with their counterparts at other GMI partner agencies (Positive East and Spectra). The partnership is the main provider of the London HIV Prevention Programme, a sexual health and HIV testing outreach programme for GBMSM, across the capital. The post holder will be responsible for liaising directly with other contract partners and being a main point of contact for various outreach venue providers.  The worker will form part of the METRO HIV Domain and will support the overall HIV prevention services provided by the charity.

The role

The Operations Administrator will support the Ada Lovelace Institute in the management of processes relating to finance, human resources, grants, and information administration.

The role will build strong relationships with the Nuffield Foundation’s HR, Finance and IT functions to help ensure shared processes are administered. Additionally, the Operations Administrator will work closely with staff across Ada, making sure it is a collaborative and supportive place to work.

About you

You will have experience of previously working in administrative roles, and have knowledge of office systems and processes. You will enjoy working with teams and be comfortable of working with a range of people across multiple workstreams. You will have excellent organisational and planning skills, be comfortable juggling different tasks and be a confident communicator.

About the role

The Regional Communications Officer role is an exciting, varied position working with Emmaus communities located in the South East region of the UK to increase their profile and engage supporters.

You will work closely with the Emmaus communities in your patch to identify their communications needs and plan and deliver a mix of work to help achieve their goals. As part of a wider team, you will also share ideas and draw on each other’s experiences to maximise PR, digital and communications opportunities.

A typical working week within this role can include:

This is a part time position working four days per week (30 hours), Monday to Friday.

Within this role, you can be based at home or in an Emmaus community. Wherever you are based, maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important.  The current patch for this role is Emmaus Brighton & Hove, Emmaus Greenwich and Emmaus Dover. Regular travel to these three communities will be required (usually one community visit per week). Travel to team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, and other locations will also be required on occasion.

Who are we looking for?

We require someone with a strong skillset and at least two years’ experience working in a busy communications, public relations or marketing role. Although not essential, knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the charity sector would also be an advantage.

Creativity and passion are a must. You will have a broad range of communications skills, love seeing your creative ideas come to life and keen to develop your skillset within a national homelessness charity.
