We are seeking someone who is highly organised, able to carry out their work with accuracy, and can prioritise and forward plan a variety of tasks to support the smooth running of NAVCA. Our new Resources Assistant will be able to communicate at all levels, including planning and minuting our Trustee Committee and Board meetings.
The main responsibilities of the role will be to:
Governance
·Provide support to the Chair, CEO and NAVCA Board, by arranging meetings and all meeting logistics, drafting agendas, collating papers and taking minutes, as well as efficient record keeping, and managing a forward look of Board priorities.
Office and IT Support
·Organise regular face-to-face and online team meetings and team events.
·Provide administrative support to the CEO, including diary management.
·Manage and liaise with external IT support to ensure all staff have the hardware and software they need.
· Maintain a general mailbox and answer general telephone enquiries.
· Maintain records of equipment held by staff.
· Support the processing of staff expenses.
· Provide administrative support for the NAVCA starter and leaver process.
· Provide administrative support to other members of the NAVCA team as required.
HR
·Ensure all personnel records are kept up to date.
The role is part time, 21 hours per week (equivalent to 3 days). The salary is £25,200 pro rata per annum plus 8% employer pension (no employee contribution required). At NAVCA you will receive:
·25 days leave plus 11 statutory/set holidays, pro rata for part-time staff.

1. To help provide an effective free advice and representation service for people largely living or working in East London or elsewhere within England and Wales.
2. To provide a comprehensive administrative service to a busy front line advice centre. This comprises responding to enquiries through both telephone, email and face-to-face, ensuring that each enquirer is assessed for suitability for our services, specifically with a view to Legal Aid funding, booking clients for legal advice appointments and signposting those we cannot assist directly.
3. You will be working closely with our Housing Team and provide some support to other legal area teams.

The role
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the local office, managing referrals calls from people who are bereaved, supporting volunteers with service delivery and ensuring effective recording and management of relevant systems and processes.

The Refugee & Migrant Services Caseworker will join the Refugee & Migrant Services Support Team, who work alongside our ESOL team and volunteers to meet clients’ needs as directed by the R&MS Team Leader. The post is based at our offices in Bedford but will involve some local travel to deliver support and home appointments. Our team deliver a number of services, including:
- Welcoming and providing holistic integration support to resettled refugee families, empowering them to live independently with less support as time goes on.
- Providing vulnerable migrants with high quality information and advice, empowering them to make well-informed choices.
- Providing supported accommodation for people who have been refused asylum.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Building trust and maintaining positive working relationships with all clients, external agencies and other areas of KAP.
- Systematic recording of all notes and actions related to client support, maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and support plans using our case management system.
- Fulfilling funders’ & commissioners’ reporting requirements; generating statistics, case studies and keeping detailed records.
- Meeting resettled families at the airport and bringing them to their new homes.
- Ensuring clients understand their rights and responsibilities regarding their accommodation, supporting them to fulfil these.
- Supporting clients through advocacy to access; health & wellbeing services, welfare benefits, housing, immigration advice, community events, education, training, volunteering and paid work.
- Assisting resettled families’ children to access education and ensuring appropriate support is in place for them.
- Provide advice and support to resettled families through home appointments in Bedfordshire.
- Provide advice and support to clients both remotely and at in-person meetings
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining working practices that reflect the overall ethos and vision of KAP, including following our policies, procedures and code of conduct.
- Respecting and supporting the whole KAP staff team, contractors and volunteers.
- Taking responsibility for your own workload and your own personal development.
- To actively participate in supervision sessions (1-2-1s, team meetings and annual reviews).
- Attending and being involved in team meetings, training, prayer / worship times and social activities, as well as all personal development meetings, including supervisions and mentor sessions.
- This role may require working occasional evenings and weekends.

About the job
We are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach. As a Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant, you will provide high quality practical and emotional support to potential victims of modern slavery within a safehouse setting.
You will work as a member of the team providing a safe temporary environment for vulnerable adults who have experienced trauma and exploitation. The role will involve assisting service users with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.
This service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly, which will include on call duties, evenings, weekends and bank. Both roles will work between two properties approx. 4 miles apart on a Rota basis. A full induction and continuous training will be given.
The 30 hour per week post will be shifts from 4pm-10pm, 5 days per week, however, the initial induction will consist of day shifts until knowledge of safe house is comprehensive.
You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and ideally experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens. Relevant social care qualifications or suitable experience of supporting vulnerable people is essential.
