This job is all about working with the local third and public sector to engage with local people to create change. To make this happen the role has three key bits to it: 

• listening to what local people want (gathering the insights)
• building a vision for a ‘better way of doing things’ (planning to make change), and 
• getting stuck in to support our clients and wider team to make things happen (doing the stuff we’ve planned). 

Each day you’ll be shaping and delivering Capacity’s current and future projects, managing expectations, excitement, and priorities - keeping a smile on your face and a spring in your step. Even on the busiest of days our Designers and Doers remind themselves why they’re in it, finding the get-up and go to make public services, people services. 

The to-do lists you write and the skillsets you engage will vary hugely, one day you might be working on recruitment strategies for social workers, the next on service design for family early help, another strategy planning for a primary care team. When job descriptions say ‘no day is the same’ that can often feel twee, at Capacity - it’s a promise. 

You’ll spend your time being proactive - delivering on our promises to clients and local people, whilst staying ready to catch any ‘off-project’ work that might need sorting along the way. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent Multimedia Content Producer to join the Marketing Communications team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. This role will support the Senior Creative Lead & Design Manager and Head of Marketing & Brand to create, commission and produce a wide variety of creative marketing materials, focusing on photography and video assets. 

You will work across all areas of SSAFA, so your creative talents will help raise awareness of crucial services, recruit volunteers, support fundraising initiatives and promote understanding of SSAFA’s work, this will allow you the ability to flex your content production skills to different audience types and a wide range of outputs. You will work from creative concept to asset completion and be able to lead on the development of our video strategy and planning. This is a new role within the organisation so you will have the exciting opportunity to shape the future direction of multimedia content, in particular focusing on video content strategy. 

You will have access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite of software, and actively encouraged to develop your skills and proficiency in areas you may not have experienced, some skill in using other Adobe products such as InDesign is desirable, but not essential. 

We are looking for someone with an exceptional eye for detail, bags of initiative, creativity and innovation. This role will offer plenty of variety - no two days will be the same - but you will need to juggle different creative projects, be able to prioritise, communicate effectively and work collaboratively. 

About the team 

You will be joining a well-established team of marcomms professionals, ranging from Designers to Case Study Managers. You will have plenty of opportunity to interact with photo/video freelancers as well as other internal departments, such as Fundraising or members of the volunteer network. 

About you 

To hit the ground running and carry out this role successfully you will have:

• A portfolio of video or photographic projects demonstrating; creative concept development, collaboration others/colleagues to produce creative assets. 
• Demonstratable experience of planning and managing a pipeline of photo, video or audio assets, and working collaboratively and effectively to achieve engaging content that supports SSAFA achieving its KPIs.
• Demonstrable experience of organising a photo/video shoot, including briefing photographers, videographers or others. 
• Demonstrable experience of creating compelling multimedia content that drives an emotional connection with the audience. You may have undertaken parts of this process such as crafting a storyboard and briefing the delivery, or you may have taken video footage to edit varying assets. 
• Experience working with a marketing or communications team to support the creation and delivery of digital assets for active TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter social media accounts, including knowledge of different digital and social media advertising format would be advantageous. 
• Excellent skills in Premiere Pro (or similar) 
• Some skill in other creative tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. would be advantageous.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines as needed. 
• Experience of working in a commercial, public or not-for-profit organisation would be beneficial.

Job Title: Family Support Worker

Location: North London

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of families affected by domestic/sexual abuse. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing holistic support to mothers, children, and young people (CYP) during their time in refuge and as they transition into the community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Developing and Delivering Services:

   • Provide personalised 1:1 family support services to families residing in the refuge, addressing the impact of domestic/sexual abuse on the family unit.
   • Collaborate in planning and delivering activities tailored to parents and CYP, including educational, leisure, and therapeutic services.
   • Facilitate the strengthening of parent-child relationships and empower families to enhance their resilience.

2. Assessment and Risk Management:

   • Conduct comprehensive assessments of families' needs and risks, utilising organisational assessment tools and evaluation methods.
   • Assess and promote parenting skills and children's needs while supporting safety planning for families.
   • Manage safeguarding incidents related to children in the refuge, liaising with relevant authorities as necessary.

   • Contribute to fundraising efforts to sustain and expand play schemes.

4. Integrated Working and Partnership:

Role: The Forces Employment Charity (FEC) is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Specialist Employment Consultant to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate and coordinate employment case-working support for CTP (Assist), Service Leavers (SLs) and Veterans, up to 2 years post-discharge and job role reports to CTP (Assist) Manager. The goal is to assist them in finding appropriate and sustainable civilian employment or other suitable vocational outcomes.

The Role is based at MoD Personnel Recovery Centre (Catterick) / MoD Personnel Recovery Unit (PRU Catterick) and hybrid.

This part-time, permanent position involves a 28-hour work week and offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of Service Leavers (SLs) and Veterans.

The first round of interviews will be conducted face-to-face at Catterick PRC on 21st June 2024.

Principal Responsibilities:

​

• Deliver specialist vocational case-working support to allocated CTP (Assist) clients in order that they achieve their Preferred Vocational Outcomes (PVOs).
• Provide effective CTP (Assist) case working support using the CTP (Assist) Work instructions and database.
• As a member of the Recovery Units CTP (Assist) casework handling team, work with relevant MoD staff to deliver the employment aspects of CTP (Assist) Individual Recovery Plans (IRPs).
• Act as the CTP (Assist) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to PRU staff and local units, working alongside another SEC.
• Provide career, employment advice and guidance to allocated CTP (Assist) clients in accordance with their IRPs and Vocational Assessment (VA) provided under CTP.
• Coordinate CTP (Assist) client access to training opportunities, supporting their applications for additional training grants as necessary.
• Identify and source suitable Personnel on Recovery Duty (PRD) specific work based training and work experience opportunities within the geographical area in accordance with their IRPs. 
• Ensure all CTP (Assist) employment, training and vocational opportunities sourced are fed into the affiliated regional Employer Relationship Manager (ERM), thus ensuring a joined up and integrated CTP employer engagement approach.
• Delivery/Facilitation of SEC components of Recovery Transition Workshop courses and support CTW+/CRE courses as requested.
• Identify and subsequently engage with Training and Adult Education providers to identify opportunities that meet clients’ requirements in accordance with IRPs.
• As required, provide in work support to ensure client vocational outcomes are sustainable.
• Monitor successful employment placement success for CTP (Assist) clients as a key component of overall outcomes.
• When required and appropriate, work closely with regional teams such as:

•            CTP Regional Resettlement Centre (RRC) & Career Consultants (CCs)

•             Future Horizon Employment Advisor (s)

•             FEC Ex-Forces Employment Advisors (Veterans)

• Maintain accuracy and integrity in all interactions with the CTP BMS, Job site, and the CTP website and tools, ensuring timely recording of all client and employer engagement activity.
• Attend MDT’s and work with wider organisations in order to support the PRD you are working with (when required).

Essential Competencies:

The Role: 

As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will lead the delivery and development of our highly successful “Grandmentors” programme in Perth and Kinross. 

Grandmentors is an innovative, inter-generational mentoring project where older volunteers (normally but not exclusively aged 50+) use their wealth of life experience and skills to mentor young people aged 16-26 who are care experienced, or facing other life challenges

These young people often benefit from a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education, begin training, enhance their wellbeing, or develop their independent living skills - ultimately giving young people the empowerment and self-belief to lead successful lives.

Grandmentors is a national project which has operated for almost 15 years in various locations of the UK.  We launched in Perth and Kinross in 2022.   Further information on Grandmentors can be found online. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

· Consistently role model and display our organisational values (Being Positive, Inclusive, Empowering, Compassionate, Straightforward)

· Contribute to effective teamwork across the staff team and the wider charity, in line with our “flexible working by default” and “self-managed teams” philosophy

· Develop and deliver the Grandmentors programme in Perth and Kinross, meeting ambitious goals and milestones, ensuring all young people engaged achieve positive outcomes

The Finance Officer will be involved in all aspects of the charity’s financial operations, this is a very broad role. From handling small donations like a child’s pocket money right up to processing large grants.  You will be the first point of call for financial queries and questions arising from our team. You will process purchase and sales invoices, volunteer, and staff expenses.  You will support grant and other fundraising applications, process donations from a variety of different platforms, deal with gift aid and banking. You will need to be an analytical problem solver able to work on your own and as part of our team.

You will have a finance qualification and experience of working in the finance department of a charity.  You will have strong Excel skills and familiarity of dealing with fundraising platforms such as JustGiving.  You will need to form constructive and supportive working relationships with our volunteers and other stakeholders so you will need strong communications skills, excellent numeracy and literacy, the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise your own workload while maintaining a compassionate, professional, and efficient public image for the charity.

The Finance Officer is responsible for the smooth running of all aspects of the financial management of BCFB.

 Financial Management

Accountancy and Bookkeeping Systems

Maintenance of all accounting records on an ongoing basis to include:

· Manage all income and expenditure processing.

· Maintain and improve bookkeeping and accountancy systems (both computerised and manual) including:

- Bank reconciliations

- Cash flow management

- Income and grant analysis (restricted and designated funds)

- Bank receipts and payments

- Purchase approval and recording processes

Accounts payable

· Process purchase invoices in an accurate and timely manner.

· Respond accurately and efficiently to queries from suppliers and colleagues regarding payments.

· Manage the Finance email inbox ensuring emails are dealt with in a timely manner.

Accounts Receivable

Budgets

· Prepare and update annual income and expenditure budget in consultation with the CEO and other officers.

· Involvement in strategic and business planning projections with the CEO and other officers.

 

Reports

Produce regular management information so that key officers and trustees know how well the charity is performing against its budget. To include:

• Provide regular monthly management financial information (including financial highlights/list of assets/budget against actual/restricted and unrestricted funds/fund movement summary/fund balances/trial balance/balance sheet) for the CEO and Board of Trustees.
• Quarterly financial reports for the Board of Trustees including detailed analysis of income and expenditure.
• Reports on individual activities including Lottery and grants.

• Filing Annual Return to the Charity Commission.
• Assisting with funding reports.

Annual Financial Audit

• Work with BSN, our accountants/auditors to produce the statutory accounts and planning of the year-end audit.

Bank and Treasury Management

• Treasury management in connection with cash and investments held by the charity.
• Manage cash flow to ensure that the level of interest received is as high as possible and that bank charges are kept to a minimum.
• Ensuring Current Account balances are kept at a reasonable level.

Fundraising

· Ensure that the most tax-efficient solution is applied to fundraising income through gift aid and other schemes.

· Assisting with applications for funding ensuring that all grants, sponsorship and donations are paid on time and the financial conditions met.

· Keeping clear records of funding bids, successful bids and spending related to these bids.

Communication and Coordination

• Ensure the efficient circulation of financial information as needed including that required from external advisers e.g., auditors.
• Liaise with and advise the CEO and others as appropriate on all financial matters.
• Liaise with and maintain a good working relationship with bankers, accountants, auditors and donors.
• Liaise and maintain a good working relationship with volunteers, staff and Board of Trustees.
• Attend staff and Trustee meetings as required to provide information and analysis.

Professional/Technical

• Keep up to date with financial developments across the sector, changes in requirements for charity reporting and changes in legislation.
• Maintain and monitor the Internal Financial Procedures policy document and make recommendations on best practice, good governance, policies and procedures and implementing same.
• Experience with the software for donations, My Giving online and the accounting package, My Fund Accounting online.  The software is specifically for churches and charities.

Administration

· Undertake all finance related administrative tasks ensuring orderly filling of electronic (Sharepoint) and paper documents and preparing for financial audits.

About the Masonic Charitable Foundation

The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing a range of benevolent support to individuals and awarding grants to local and national charities.
