As Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will be responsible for generating income from Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funders for the charity's services working with our established teams to develop projects and generate funding. You will maintain a rolling programme of prospect research, taking responsibility for maintaining and developing existing partnerships. You will also be developing, drafting, and submitting applications to prospective funders and providing reports to funders on existing projects and funding.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• A strong understanding of trusts and foundations practices and principles.
• Experience of engaging with trusts and foundations and managing and developing ongoing relationships.
• Experience of researching prospective trusts and foundations
• Experience of writing grant applications, reports, or proposals.
• Excellent communications and writing skills and the ability to convey information in a compelling manner.

About the role:

Kinship is in our third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We are looking for a new Associate Director of Peer Support and Community to build and develop our model and to take the team to the next phase of growth and impact.

Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. You will ensure all members of the team have clarity and are empowered to meet new targets and ways of working.

The role will also lead on the strategic development of peer support approaches in Wales (for which we are seeking funding), ensuring innovation and good practice is shared across the nations.

Kinship peer support groups are powerful levers for change in local, regional and national ecosystems. Your team will ensure that every kinship carer in England and Wales has access to a peer support group, or support to set up and create their own. The team will be purposeful about offering developmental support to all kinship peer support groups, including independent groups, ensuring they remain or become sustainable. And that they have resources, training and peer networks to support this.

Reflecting our strategic focus on developing our Kinship Community of more than 10,000 kinship carers across England and Wales, you will lead a new community strategy, co-ordinating the development of opportunities for community connection and community power. This will include taking leadership for developing the Kinship model of community engagement and integrating across all our ‘in person’ and digital services and activities.

You will ensure a collaborative approach with services, alignment with national and local campaigning activity, and work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to support kinship carer reach and engagement with our community offer.

We’re taking an integrated approach to our services, so you’ll collaborate well across teams to ensure that support groups and their leaders have easy access to high quality advice, information and training. The team will need to work closely with colleagues delivering our new training and support contract, funded by the Department for Education.

Key responsibilities include:

• Innovation of the Peer Support Service.

• Develop and rollout peer support and community strategy and operational plan. 

• Implement monitoring and evaluation and impact tools for timely and accurate reporting of activity and engagement.

• Work with the Development team to develop proposals for the community and peer support which are ready for fundraising and business development.

Essential requirements include:

• Substantial experience in scaling a national service or programme with high quality outputs. This includes overseeing delivery, strategic planning, budgeting, managing delivery, meeting KPIs, stakeholder engagement and reporting to funders.

• Experience of governance and managing risk on high profile service delivery.

• Experience of effective budget management.

• Significant experience of leading the development and delivery of peer support services.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Manager to join the Fundraising, Marketing & Communications team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity on a six-month contract. This role will support the Head of Marketing & Brand to deliver impactful, integrated marketing and brand activations with great results. 

You will work on strategies and campaigns that serve the objectives of all areas within SSAFA, so your expertise will help raise awareness of crucial services, recruit volunteers, support fundraising initiatives and promote understanding of SSAFA’s work. Most notably you will develop the strategic approach and activation of a new brand proposition in the Autumn. This is an incredibly important piece of work for the charity, so the role will suit somebody with experience in driving a brand previously.

You will work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues across the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications directorate, taking briefs and translating them into finalised marketing activations. Alongside the Head of Marketing & Brand you will work closely with the rest of the team, particularly the Senior Marketing Officer.

About the team 

You will be joining a well-established team of marcomms professionals, ranging from designers to case study managers and social media experts. You will have plenty of opportunity to interact with other internal departments, such as Fundraising or members of the volunteer network. 

 About you 

To hit the ground running and carry out this role successfully you will have:

• Demonstrable experience managing marketing or brand strategies and campaigns that achieve engagement or brand visibility metrics.
• Experience of managing projects with several internal stakeholders working with either agency or in-house delivery teams.
• The ability to interrogate and understand a brief in order to develop multi-channel campaign plans and co-ordinate the creation of compelling content and collateral that resonates with audiences.
• Experience of co-ordinating post-campaign analysis reports in order to communicate achievements and performance to relevant internal stakeholders.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines as needed. 
• Experience of working in a commercial, public or not-for-profit organisation would be beneficial.

The PR team is a small but dynamic group of individuals with strong skillsets across press release and article writing, selling in pitches and campaign planning. The team is a mix of ex-forces and civilians, and they are always sharing knowledge and expertise with each other.

You will work closely across all directorates within SSAFA to garner information and source case studies for each of the PR needs across regions and services.

To carry out this role successfully you will have:

• Degree or equivalent 
• Experience working in a busy press office, PR team or with a journalism background

The role provides leadership across four key areas; Trusts in the UK (including our strategic partnership with the People’s Postcode Lottery), Trusts in Liechtenstein, Partnerships and Philanthropy in the Gulf (primarily Qatar and UAE), and Philanthropy and Partnerships in Singapore and Hong Kong. The post holder willplay a key strategic and lead role in the Philanthropy & Partnerships team (P&P), comprising Philanthropy, and Strategic Funding & Insight sub-teams, in order to ensure maximum collaboration, a joined-up approach to donors and increase income across the P&P team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to raise funds from trusts and foundations, as well as managing our global investment portfolio. Working  collaboratively with the Co-CEOs, board and Senior Leaders  to engage and promote  the work of the Trusts and Global Markets team, as well as working collaboratively with colleagues on humanitarian emergencies, ensuring Trusts/regional markets' support is maximised at these times.

Key responsibilities include:

Building and maintaining relationships with key trust and foundation donors
Developing fundraising strategies to secure funding for our programs and projects
Managing our diverse global investment portfolio to achieve financial growth and stability
Monitoring and evaluating the performance of our investments and adjusting strategies as needed
Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational goals and objectives

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in finance, fundraising, or investment management, as well as excellent communication and relationship-building skills. A solid understanding of trusts, foundations, and global markets is also essential.

Role Overview:​​

• Provide infrastructure support to local voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups and social enterprises. ​

• Engage in one-on-one and outreach meetings to better support community needs. ​

• Develop and manage VCSE networks focusing on key themes like Children, Families, and Young People, Health and Wellbeing, Digital Isolation, and Safeguarding. ​​

Key Responsibilities:​​

• Develop and oversee the implementation of detailed work plans for the development and funding advice service. ​

• Assist VCS organisations with monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating their impact. ​

• Provide guidance on funding streams, review proposals, and offer feedback. ​

• Advise on legal structures, policies, and charity registration processes. ​

• Planned and delivered training programs in collaboration with EHCVS staff or external trainers. ​

• Promote best practices and support the development of business plans, fundraising strategies, and quality assurance policies. ​​

Network Development:​​

• Lead the development and promotion of a VCSE network in Ealing. ​

• Maintain and expand the membership database. ​

• Organise and facilitate network meetings and produce a monthly E-News. ​

• Support the development of local VCS networks and ensure effective communication through regular news updates and an online community calendar. ​​

Other Duties ​​

• Assist in producing briefings, information, and web material. ​

• Assist in producing monitoring and evaluation information. ​

• Assist in developing and organising events. ​

• Represent Ealing & Hounslow CVS at meetings and events relevant to your project. ​

Monitoring and Evaluation ​​

• Record monitoring information; review the progress of current projects every week and manage upwards. ​

• ​Prepare written evaluation reports for EHCVS projects and services. ​

• ​Support the Funding and Development Manager with monitoring information collated from service as and when required. ​

• ​Weekly and monthly reporting. ​

Corporate Responsibilities ​​

As Grants Officer, you will:

• Secure income through funding applications to a range of large and small scale funders.
• Write high quality, compelling applications that are submitted on time and in line with funder requirements and eligibility criteria.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop applications for funding and compile high quality content that is realistic, deliverable, and appropriately budgeted.
• Identify and obtain any support and advice required for the preparation, planning and management of funding applications.

• Skilled at presenting complex project information in a clear and engaging way.
• Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal with the ability to produce concise, persuasive and engaging narrative.
