About the role

We are looking for Assessment and Reconnection workers to join our excellent team in Hounslow. The Hounslow LIFE service is a large multi-site supported accommodation service that has a staff team of 31 supporting 86 clients, covering specialisms such as Homelessness, Substance Use and Mental Health.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new Assessment Hub team at Apple Tree Cottage, providing rapid assessment and support into appropriate accommodation to clients over a 28-day period, ensuring those at risk of rough sleeping and homelessness can be directed to services suitable to their immediate, medium and longer term needs.  

In the role of Assessment and Reconnection worker you will: 

• Work with our clients on their road to recovery, by identifying their needs, helping them to access appropriate support and access suitable accommodation. 
• Provide thorough assessment of housing eligibility and support needs.
• Provide our clients with dynamic support to identify suitable accommodation and support them to obtain this.
• Have some housing management responsibilities as part of ensuring we deliver safe, high quality services.

About you 

To succeed in this highly rewarding role you would benefit if you: 

• Have an understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people – you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself. 

• A creative and dynamic approach, with excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships and negotiate with a wide range of partners and external audiences. 

• The ability to operate in a fast paced environment and manage a varied workload and multiple priorities.

• Knowledge and understanding of the housing and support needs of people experiencing homelessness. 

However, above all we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives. 

Please note, due to the needs of all our services, there is a requirement to work a shift rota, so flexibility is required. This will include some weekends and bank holidays, and the role will be service based with no home working.

About the role:

At North London Multi-Disciplinary Rough Sleeping Hub, you’ll play a key role in keeping the service safe, steady and well run overnight. You’ll be supporting people who have come directly off the streets and are navigating multiple disadvantage, helping to create an environment where they can rest, feel secure and continue moving forward.

As a Night Concierge, you’ll take ownership of the building overnight. That means managing access, carrying out regular checks, monitoring safety and responding to anything that arises. You’ll be the main point of contact for clients during your shift, offering a calm, respectful presence and stepping in when support is needed.

Alongside this, you’ll keep things running behind the scenes. You’ll record incidents and key information accurately, complete handovers for the day team and make sure nothing gets missed. You’ll use internal systems to log activity, report repairs or concerns and communicate clearly with the wider team so there’s continuity between day and night.

Some nights will be quiet and routine, others less predictable. You might be carrying out welfare checks, managing the building, responding to queries or supporting someone who needs reassurance. It’s a role that combines responsibility, independence and people-focused work, where your consistency and judgement help keep both clients and the service on track.

Positions Available: We have two positions available at 44 hours per week, these will include weekend working with shift patterns to be discussed and confirmed at interview stage.

In our Women’s Respite Service in Camden, you’ll be working with women who have faced abuse, exploitation and homelessness, often after systems have let them down. You’ll be part of a space that feels different. A space where women are listened to, where their experiences are understood, and where they can begin to rebuild a sense of control over their lives.

No two days will look the same. One moment you might be de-escalating a crisis, the next you’re advocating with services, or sitting alongside someone as they begin to make sense of what they’ve been through. You’ll use your understanding of trauma, gender informed practice and the realities of violence against women and girls to shape how support is delivered, making sure every interaction is grounded in safety, dignity and respect.

You’ll hold a small but complex caseload, working intensively with women to build trust, navigate risk and move towards stability and independence. You won’t give up easily. You’ll stay curious, creative and persistent, even when progress feels slow or uncertain.

As a senior in the team, your impact goes further. You’ll lead by example, guiding colleagues through complex situations and helping to embed a way of working that truly recognises what women have experienced and what they need to move forward. You’ll help shape a service that doesn’t just respond to crisis, but creates real, lasting change.

Job Purpose

Healthwatch Barnsley (hosted by Barnsley CVS), is going through an exciting redesign to enable community voices to have even greater impact on the current strategies and developments in Barnsley.  The Community Engagement Officer role is an impactful and rewarding opportunity to join the Healthwatch Barnsley Team as we navigate upcoming changes introduced through the new NHS 10 Year Plan and the forthcoming Health Bill.  This role will ensure that the voices of Barnsley residents remain central as we work towards building a health and social care system that is fit for the future.

You will use your excellent interpersonal skills and creativity to gather feedback on Barnsley priorities, ensuring residents’ views shape local projects and developments contributing to Barnsley’s vision as the “Place of Possibilities”.

Working with Barnsley CVS and other established third-sector organisations you will identify new ways to reach under-represented or seldom-heard communities and strengthen how their voices inform local decision-making. By capturing residents’ experiences and feeding them back to services you will contribute to a continuous feedback loop that empowers communities, builds trust and encourages ongoing participation in future engagement activities.

As a Navigator across Camden and Islington, you will work alongside people who are rough sleeping and facing multiple disadvantage, offering consistent, psychologically informed support from first contact through to longer term stability. This is a role for someone who wants to be out in the community, building real relationships and making change happen where it matters most. You will hold a small caseload, giving you the space to do this work properly, staying alongside each person as they move through crisis, into accommodation, and towards a life that feels safer, more independent and more their own.

No two days will look the same. You might be meeting someone on the streets to start building trust, advocating with partners to unlock housing options, or working through the practical and emotional barriers that can make moving forward feel out of reach. You will take a holistic approach, drawing on your understanding of trauma, mental health, substance use and domestic abuse to shape support that is responsive, creative and genuinely centred around the individual. This is a role where persistence matters, where small steps count, and where your ability to adapt and think differently can open up new pathways for clients.

You will be part of a wider, well connected network across Camden and Islington, working closely with local services and partners to coordinate support and create opportunities that would not be possible in isolation. With the autonomy to manage your own time and work flexibly across the boroughs, this role offers the chance to grow your practice, deepen your skills and be part of a service that is focused on doing things differently to end rough sleeping for good.

Our Welfare Officers provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family. As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.

Our intervention is provided with consent on a non-statutory basis, and you will work with and engage our service users to develop appropriate interventions for individual outcomes.

Our service is transitioning to become more accessible and inclusive, digital technology plays a key role in this, as such you will use digital technologies to complement and enhance processes and service user experience.

You will play an active role within the community, promoting the service through the delivery of presentations and representing the service at public engagement events. You will also work closely with RAF welfare teams, local authorities, health, education, civilian agencies, charities and other military organisations to ensure the best outcome for the service user.

About you

To thrive in this role you will have relevant experience of supporting adults, families and children/young people. You will be able to take a flexible and creative approach to problem solving. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to deliver presentations with confidence.

You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have experience of carrying out assessments, preparing plans, monitoring and reviewing outcomes.

Primary Care Practitioner (Guided Self Help & Social Prescribing)

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated practitioner to join our team in the Vale of Glamorgan, delivering wellbeing support, Guided Self Help, and social prescribing across community and primary care settings.

This role focuses on supporting individuals experiencing mild to moderate, or severe but stable, mental health difficulties. You will help people better understand and manage their mental health, while connecting them to the right services and community support.

You will provide structured one-to-one support, deliver psychoeducational courses and workshops, and help people build resilience, confidence, and independence.

Working as part of an established team, you will receive referrals from GPs, other health professionals, and self-referrals, ensuring people can access timely and effective support.

About you

You will have experience working in a mental health or wellbeing setting and feel confident supporting individuals with a range of mental health needs.

You will be confident:

• Providing person-centred, strengths-based support
• Managing your own caseload and completing assessments
• Building positive relationships with individuals and partner organisations

You will have a good understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and professional boundaries, along with strong communication and organisational skills.

An interest in the voluntary and community sector is essential, as is the ability to connect people with local services and opportunities.

While full training will be provided, experience of guided self-help approaches, outcome measures (such as Recovery Star or CORE-OM), or delivering group work would be advantageous.

Make a real difference in primary care

We are looking for two compassionate and motivated practitioners to join our team, delivering Guided Self Help, psychoeducational support, and social prescribing within GP surgeries.

This role focuses on early intervention, supporting people to better understand and manage their mental health, while connecting them with appropriate services and community support.

You will work with individuals experiencing common mental health difficulties, including anxiety and depression, offering structured, practical support that can make a meaningful difference to their everyday lives.

You will also contribute to the delivery of psychoeducational courses, support behaviour change, and help people build confidence and resilience.

About you

You will have experience supporting people with their mental health, ideally using structured approaches such as Guided Self Help or similar interventions.

You will be confident:

• Working within a primary care setting
• Managing your own caseload

An understanding of CBT-informed approaches is important, along with the ability (or willingness to learn) to use outcome measures such as Recovery Star, CORE-OM, and CORE-10.

In our Hammersmith and Fulham service, we provide that opportunity through one high-support hostel and two medium-support hostels, where 24 Londoners are rebuilding their lives while managing their mental health and other complex challenges such as substance use or past offending. As a Project Worker, you’ll play a leading role in helping clients understand and manage their emotional and mental health needs, while developing the confidence and skills to live independently. Through meaningful one-to-one work, you’ll carry out detailed needs and risk assessments, identify achievable short-term goals, and help clients strengthen relationships, expand social networks and access training, education or employment. Responsible for a group of young people, for one-on-one support and guidance or just gently pointing them in the right direction. You’ll also be the guiding light for our delivery partners and service providers as we want them to deliver the best experience and outcomes for our young people. High-fives all around! Roll up your sleeves and deliver employability sessions directly to our incredible young people. You'll also help our Delivery Partners and volunteers do the same, both in person and virtually through our trusty MS Teams. When we're doing things face-to-face, you’ll need to hit the road and be there in person to help with programme delivery or programme visits to make sure all is running as smoothly as possible.

And if that’s not enough to keep you busy, you’ll also be keeping meticulous records of information and data on our young people, volunteers, and partners. It's all about making sure every step of their journey is accurately reflected in our systems so that it complies with our funding contracts.

How are staff supported to work remotely?

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).

They play a crucial role in the triaging, coordination and effective administration of the entire Community Connections project and acting as a front door service to the rest of the voluntary sector.
