Following a successful application to the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, we are seeking a Youth Worker to lead on systems change as part of our Brighter Rainbow Project. A key requirement of the post is to hold a JNC Level 6 Youth and Community Work qualification or equivalent (or due to complete 2026- 2027). We also welcome applicants with related subjects including nursing, primary teaching, secondary teaching, social work etc.

About the role:

Dennis Handfield House is a 39-bed service within the Camden adult pathway, supporting men and women with multiple and complex needs. We’re recruiting Project Workers to join a skilled, multidisciplinary team including Complex Needs Workers, a Specialist Worker, Day Concierge, Night Team, and access to a Work and Learning Worker and Psychotherapist shared across SHP. Together, the team creates a supportive, purposeful environment where people are given the time, consistency and respect needed to move forward.

As a Project Worker, you’ll be a steady and trusted presence for people navigating mental and physical health challenges, substance use and experiences of the criminal justice system. You’ll hold a caseload, build meaningful relationships and deliver strengths-based, psychologically informed support that helps people sustain accommodation, access services and develop the confidence and skills to shape their own next steps. Your work will sit at the heart of the service, turning plans into progress and potential into real change.

This role is for someone who shows up with compassion, grit and belief in people’s potential, even on the hardest days. You’ll be trusted to use your judgement, work creatively and contribute your voice within a team that values learning and collaboration. About you:

• A good understanding of substance use is essential and an awareness of harm minimisation strategies and an understanding of a Strengths and Recovery model is desirable; a good understanding of the Cycle of Change.
• An understanding of the principles of risk and needs assessment, planning, goal setting, and reviewing.
• The sensitivity and flexibility to find ways to work with clients who may have a low level of engagement with the service.
• A level of numeracy, literacy and comprehension to do welfare benefit, rent and petty cash calculations, write letters, and analyse and extrapolate from written information.

Bromley Recovery and Wellbeing College, a service within South East London Mind, runs a curriculum of free peer and professional-led courses across the borough.

Our workshops and courses combine enjoyment, fun and knowledge to enable students to achieve a greater insight into their own mental wellbeing and gain skills to help them achieve personal goals and ambitions.

We are looking for someone with exceptional administrative and communication skills to support the Recovery College Manager and Coordinator in processing student applications and completing telephone interviews, along with wider team administration.

You will have experience of client-facing administrative work within a mental health setting, awareness of safeguarding and risk management considerations and the confidence to communicate effectively with a wide range of people with varying mental health needs. You will need to be organised, have excellent attention to detail and good technical skills.

A flexible can-do attitude and calm, problem-solving approach are also essential for this role. If you have what it takes, we would love to hear from you.

About the role and you

This is a key role in a fast-paced, collaborative communications and advocacy team helping to deliver real impact in the prevention of offline and online child sexual abuse across the UK.

As a communications all-rounder, you’ll report to the Communications Manager and support colleagues across the team to deliver engaging, accessible and effective communications that help prevent child sexual abuse.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting our digital channels, campaigns and content creation - from social media and newsletters to website updates and printed materials. Following a successful application to the Henry Smith Foundation we are seeking a passionate, committed and flexible Support Worker (35 hours per week) to join our team to support young people and families, primarily focusing on LGBTQ+ young people but working with the wider team to ensure all young people and families are supported.

The main aims of the post are to ensure:

• The charity delivers quality information, advice, guidance and advocacy services which improve outcomes for LGBTQ+ young people in Calderdale & Kirklees.
• LGBTQ+ young people who face additional access barriers are reached and given the opportunity to engage with the service, reducing their isolation and loneliness.
• LGBTQ+ young people have emotionally healthy relationships with their family, friends and intimate partners.

The above would be achieved through group work, youth groups, parent and family groups, 121 work, attending professional meetings such as Team Around The Family and Child In Need meetings, mediating between families and schools, networking, stand events such as Pride’s and Freshers events, offsite activities and family support sessions.

This is a service user and public facing role. The successful candidate will be expected to attend sessions, meetings and events across in Calderdale & Kirklees

The right candidate will have:

• JNC Level 3 Youth and Community Work qualification or a willingness to undertake training. We welcome applicants with equivalent qualifications and experience in relevant sectors inclusive of child care, teaching, social work, nursing etc (or due to complete 2026 - 2027).

• A minimum 12-months experience of working with children, young people aged 25 and under and/or families

About the role:

At the heart of Camden’s response to street homelessness, the Rough Sleeping Outreach & Hub Service works across streets, transport hubs and a central support hub to ensure that no one is left facing rough sleeping alone. This is an integrated, borough-wide service focused on early engagement, reducing harm and supporting people to move away from the streets towards safety, accommodation and longer-term stability.

As an Outreach Worker, you’ll be a consistent and trusted presence for people sleeping rough or at risk of rough sleeping. Working flexibly across street outreach and hub-based support on a rota basis, you’ll build meaningful relationships, carry out trauma-aware assessments and coordinate practical support that helps people take their next steps.

You’ll work within a 'No Wrong Door' approach, supporting people wherever and however they engage. That might mean meeting someone early in the morning on outreach, supporting them to access the hub later that day, or working alongside partners to remove barriers that have kept them excluded in the past.

This is a role with variety, challenge and real impact. You’ll respond to complex situations, manage risk thoughtfully, and support people through moments of crisis and change. The work can be unpredictable and includes early, late and weekend shifts as part of a 7-day rota – but you won’t be doing it alone. With 16 beds and a short-stay model focused on planned moves within 28 days, this service is about momentum, opportunity and change. As a Project Worker, you’ll play a central role in helping people take their next steps towards secure and sustainable housing.

Working in a psychologically informed and trauma-aware environment, you’ll lead a caseload and carry out meaningful assessments that place each person’s experiences, strengths and goals at the centre. You’ll develop personalised support plans, respond thoughtfully to complex situations, and offer practical, hands-on support - from daily living tasks and wellbeing, to housing pathways, training and employment opportunities. You’ll work closely with partners including Connect Forward, In Roads and Camden Routes off the Streets to deliver joined-up, holistic support that makes a real difference.

You’ll also be the guiding light for our delivery partners and service providers as we want them to deliver the best experience and outcomes for our young people. High-fives all around! Roll up your sleeves and deliver employability sessions directly to our incredible young people. You'll also help our Delivery Partners and volunteers do the same, both in person and virtually through our trusty MS Teams. When we're doing things face-to-face, you’ll need to hit the road and be there in person to help with programme delivery or programme visits to make sure all is running as smoothly as possible.

And if that’s not enough to keep you busy, you’ll also be keeping meticulous records of information and data on our young people, volunteers, and partners. It's all about making sure every step of their journey is accurately reflected in our systems so that it complies with our funding contracts.

SHAK (South Hampstead and Kilburn Community Partnership) is a resident led charity based on the Alexandra and Ainsworth estate in the Kilburn Ward of Camden, London, dedicated to supporting residents and young people living in an area of high deprivation.

If successful you will be based at “The ARC Youth Club”, an estate based youth led centre with integrated music studio, kitchen, games and "chill-out" space. The ARC engages approximately 250 young people per year and plays a vital role in their welfare and development outside of school. In holidays we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people who may otherwise miss out.

You will deliver a range of activities e.g. cooking, arts & crafts, sports, trips, music, events etc. You will also offer support and guidance for local young people and enable them to develop life long skills while designing and running their own projects, forums etc. In school holidays you will be required to work an expected 28 hrs a week as we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people

Duties Include:

Promoting and delivering activities for young people aged 9-19 yrs  (up to 25yrs for young people with SEND), 3 nights a week during term time, hours 3-8pm (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday), and 4 days a week during school holidays, hours 11.30am-7pm (Tuesday-Friday). There also may be times when you are required to work outside of these hours

About the Role

The primary focus of the Grants Officer is to support schools and youth organisations to operate the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme effectively and to promote, grow and deliver this and other Jack Petchey Foundation (JPF) grant programmes across London and Essex. This role will be largely responsible for London Boroughs across Central and South-West London, and act as the lead for specific uniform groups who deliver their activities cross-borough. Our work continually evolves, so we ask all Grants Officers to be flexible to allow us to rework geographical areas, as needed.

The Achievement Award Scheme is the Jack Petchey Foundation’s flagship programme, with more than 2,000 schemes being operated in more than 1,400 schools, colleges and youth organisations across London and Essex. The post holder will manage delivery of the scheme and associated small grants in an assigned area of London. They will be responsible for maintaining and developing positive relationships with schools and youth organisations. The role will involve significant travel to visit schools and youth organisations, as well as outreach and community engagement work to identify and support new groups to apply to join our scheme. This work will also require evenings and occasional weekend work, especially to carry out assessment and review visits with youth organisations and to participate in our Achievement Award celebration events.

The successful candidate would therefore be someone who has flexibility to travel, work out-of-office hours, enjoys building relationships and public speaking, as well as navigating a busy grants and assessment caseload (desk-based processing, telephone calls/emails, and daily use of a database). You will need to be happy to travel regularly around Central and South-West London, and to our office in Canary Wharf.

Key Priorities of the Role:

• To promote and strengthen the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme and associated programmes (Leader Award Grants, Educational Visits and Learning Experiences, Environmental Awards and Partnership Programmes) in schools and youth organisations.

• To work with your colleagues in the Grants Team to deliver excellent grant making, review and improve processes, and strengthen relationships with all Jack Petchey Foundation stakeholders.

About You

The Grants Officer role demands a wide range of skills and a high degree of autonomy, reliability and flexibility. You will need to be an efficient, highly organised team member with excellent communication skills and a passion for our work. You will need to be able to manage your own workload within agreed targets and maintain a programme of planned visits, while creating new development opportunities.

You will possess an eye for detail, good administration skills and the ability to communicate confidently and present a positive external profile for the charity. Evening and weekend work is a requirement to meet the demands of this role. This is a busy and satisfying role, with each Grants Officer leading relationships with between 350-400 organisations. You will have strong planning skills and the ability to deal efficiently with regular grant applications, and with busy grant reporting periods twice a year.

Evening and weekend work is a requirement of this role, which on occasion can require up to two to three out-of-hours events in one week, depending on the event schedule. These are seasonal events, primarily during term-time and time off in lieu will be granted for additional hours worked. We aim for our Grants Officers to be working in the office two-three days/week, depending on their visits and events schedule.

Main Areas of Responsibility

1. Develop, manage and promote the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme and other JPF opportunities

1.1. Identify schools and youth organisations not currently running the scheme and proactively promote the Achievement Award (AA) scheme to them, following up as required.

1.2 Receive, assess and process all grant applications to join the AA scheme, in accordance with Jack Petchey Foundation policies and procedures.

1.3 Attend, participate and assist with delivery of Achievement Award celebration events (usually evenings with some weekend events), including making a speech to congratulate the young people.

2. Quality Assurance for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme

2.1 Develop relationships with and support schools, alternative provision, and youth organisations on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award (AA) scheme to operate the scheme to the highest possible standard.

2.2 Provide timely support to such organisations to enable them to run the AA scheme effectively.

2.3 Implement a strategic approach to conducting face-to-face and digital assessment and monitoring visits to schools and youth organisations in your area on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme, to ensure our funding is well spent and to identify opportunities to improve delivery.

2.4 Organise and deliver digital and in-person training and/or sessions to support schools and youth organisations to operate the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme effectively.

3. Administer the Jack Petchey Foundation grant making process

3.1 Ensure accurate records are kept on the Foundation’s database (Salesforce), including up-to-date contact details and records of communication with groups in receipt of or applying for grants.

3.2 Approve/authorise payment of AA grants and related programmes in accordance with our policies.

3.3 Ensure appropriate grant reporting by schools and youth organisations and negotiate return of funds where a grant has not been used in accordance with conditions.

3.4 Proactively manage risk, being alert to potential fraud.

3.5 Ensure that clubs and groups receive all necessary materials to operate the Achievement Award scheme effectively.

3.6 Assess and approve Leader Awards and Environmental Awards in accordance with our policy.

3.7 Assess applications for Leader Award Grants, Educational Visits and Learning Experiences Grants and Environmental Award Grants in accordance with our policy, with recommendations put forward to senior staff.

3.8 Provide regular updates on your work and Grants Officer patch during monthly one-to-ones. 

4. Promote the wider work of the Jack Petchey Foundation to schools and youth groups

4.1 Identify case studies and other stories and material that can be used for our communications, supporting communications team colleagues to raise awareness of our opportunities and impact.

4.2 Represent the Foundation at digital and physical events, local networks, funders’ fairs, and community or young people’s forums to help promote our Grant Programmes and other opportunities.

4.3 Assist with digital and face-to-face monitoring and reporting in relation to groups that have received a Jack Petchey Foundation Project Grant or other funding.

5. Other Responsibilities

5.1 Actively contribute to Grants team and Jack Petchey Foundation team meetings

5.2 Take a lead on specific projects and undertake other tasks as agreed with Director of Grants and Partnerships or Grants Manager

5.3 Contribute to the assessment of other small grant programmes as requested by the Director of Grants and Partnerships

5.4 Work with Director of Grants and Partnerships to present deep dives to Board on agreed small grant programmes, as requested

5.5 Provide telephone/email support and advice about our funding streams to existing grantees or potential applicants as part of the Grants Officer Duty Rota once/week

Role Responsibilities

Delivery of the Spear Programme – Group and 1:1 coaching

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme.
