Age UK is currently looking for a Senior Public Affairs Officer to take forward our Public Affairs work, influencing and changing public policy, to improve the lives of older people.

You will design and deliver public affairs strategies which grow Age UK's profile in Westminster and Whitehall and build support for our policy and campaigning priorities. Highly attuned to the political environment, you will identify key political targets, building new and deepening existing relationships.

You will line manage the Public Affairs Officer and oversee public affairs work done by the team's Support Officer.

Additional Information

PURPOSE

The Effective Women’s Centre Project drives forwards and embeds a culture of data quality across The Women’s Centre Cornwall. We are looking for and experienced Data and Systems Lead to work with Managers to improve our data collection and reporting from our case management systems. The successful candidate will provide meaningful and accessible management information, outcomes monitoring, and performance reports; while supporting our Monitoring, Impact & Evaluation Manager to develop ways for us to demonstrate our impact and share stories of change. She will also support our Lived Experience Groups to ensure the experiences of women are at the heart of the organisation and inform our planning and decisions.  The Data & Systems Lead will be responsible for continued implementation and project management of the Women’s Risk and Needs Assessment (WRNA) across our services. The WRNA is part of the Effective Women’s Centres Project which is designed to improve current understanding of the needs and strengths of women and to consolidate the evidence base for the effectiveness of Women’s Centres.

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

DATA & REPORTING

• Lead on the development of TWCC’s data and case management systems (CMS) ensuring buy-in, consistency and accuracy across the organisation.
• Lead on developing reporting within the organisations case management systems.
• Cultivating a Learning Culture around data within the organisation.
• Extracting quantitative data from the CMS; carrying out quality audits and cleaning and organising the data in preparation for analysis.
• Delivering training to teams ensuring they understand the requirements and importance of data collection in a way that is engaging and inclusive
• Conducting in-depth ongoing data analysis to identify improvement opportunities, risks and issues.

THE WOMEN’S RISK & NEEDS ASSESSMENT (WRNA)

• Building upon the newly introduced Women’s Risk and Needs Assessment (WRNA) across the Open Team and supporting wider Women’s Centre teams to adopt the tool.
• Working with Service Managers, providing support to the Team Leaders, sharing learning and guidance on the use of the tool. 
• Monitor the progress of the implementation of WRNA and take appropriate action if any issues are identified.
• Organise and deliver training to enable practitioners to use the WRNA.
• Lead on integration of WRNA with case management software.
• Monitor recruitment of women to the WRNA project and quality of data inputted in the assessments.
• Lead on internal communications and messaging around implementation of the WRNA.
• Sharing learning with other women’s centres involved in the Effective Women’s Centre’s project.
• Develop and deliver a project plan which ensures WRNA is rolled out consistently across the organisation.
• Oversee the delivery of the plan, revising plans based on the changing needs and requirements of the project and wider partners involved.

LIVED EXPERIENCE WORK

• Co-facilitate the Lived Experience Group and involve women with lived experience in the implementation of the Effective Women’s Centres project and across our wider services.
• Support individuals in the group to contribute to our national influencing objectives

The successful candidate will be responsible for nurturing the team of Coordinators and Team Leaders to provide innovative and creative approaches to delivering best outcomes for survivors, as well as supporting the team in their own individual and professional development. Responsible for the development of new services as well as embedding best practice across all projects, the role will oversee data collection across the services and contribute to the delivery of TWCC OCN accredited training to staff and volunteer as well as external/partner organisations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that all women accessing TWCC Support Services receive a high quality, trauma informed service that meets their needs
• To work closely with the Finance Manager and Head of Services to manage multiple funding streams.
• Explore and implement innovative strategies to ensure equitable access to support services for individuals on the waiting list, while creatively managing and reducing waiting times to enhance overall service efficiency.
• Build and lead an effective and motivated team, promoting a culture of empowerment, continuous improvement and trauma-informed care
• Oversee effective management of the waiting list and find ways to manage effectively by improving existing systems and procedures
• Act as a Safeguarding Lead for the organisation, leading on Safeguarding  compliance amongst the Support Services team, take safeguarding decision and support Team Leaders and Coordinators in safeguarding situations as well other members of the organisation
• Work within TWCC guidelines to ensure the trauma informed support services are safe, effective, responsive and ethical for all women accessing support services
• Support continued development of a positive data culture within the organisation, ensuring data collection is of a high standard across the projects and matches the requirements of funders and commissioners
• Completion of internal and external reports including narratives, case studies and data analysis
• Working closely with the CEO and Development Manager to identify and secure additional funding
• Leading service and intervention implementations and transformations, scaling up or down as required
• Working closely with Impact Manager to fully analyse the effectiveness of interventions for different cohorts of women and girls in line with our commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB).
• To support the volunteering function of the organisation, its development and continued involvement in services
• To champion Lived Experience voices within the Specialist Support Service and ensure the continued development of comprehensive progression pathways for women and girls with lived experience.

This is a great opportunity to make a significant impact on hundreds of civil society, social movements and community groups around the world, driving funding to where it is needed most. The Head of Development will join the central team, reporting to the CEO and will be responsible for forging relationships with funders, as well as identifying opportunities to engage with local community groups. 

They will share the Social Change Nest’s ambitions to transform funding for grass roots organisations and coalitions by reimagining fundraising, removing structural barriers and encouraging institutional funders to support community interests. They will oversee the Marketing, Communications & Development Assistant and one other team member and will collaborate with Risk, Compliance and the Innovation Managers. The Recovery Family and Friends Manager will lead on the development of the RBL Recovery Services Friends and Family strategy, which will aim to engage over 1500 people annually, including family, friends, ambassadors, and volunteers.

The role holder will oversee the design, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of a range of class leading events and programmes, across the UK and internationally. The role holder will be required to work collaboratively with the Team UK Manager, Recovery Programmes Manager and Recovery Pathways Manager to ensure programmes are carefully mapped to wider Recovery Services activity.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities, this includes a track record of securing new bids and/or retaining existing contracts
• Previous experience in bid/proposal writing, reviewing, and editing
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, experience in Microsoft, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability and willingness to travel and attend market engagement events and to visit services to gain greater understanding of what SIG offers and to inform teams of relevant tender responses
• Ability to create and write engaging content, with proofreading skills
• Proven ability to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral and ability to build relationships
• Ability to review large amounts of information and research materials to inform model development and shape tender responses

This is an exciting opportunity to help Cambridge City Food Bank realise it’s vision of ending the need for foodbanks, through an ambitious strategy creating a network of affordable food clubs, financial inclusion projects, and campaigning to change current systems which contribute to food insecurity – and working alongside it’s eight existing foodbank welcome centres.

In order to realise this ambition, we need to establish a new programme of fundraising growth, that can increase our annual income from circa £700K to in excess of £1M.

Through this new organisational role, you’ll proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, corporate partners, granting giving trusts and foundations, and community groups. Building on our faith-based heritage and ethos you'll be at the heart of our local community, bringing our cause to life and building lasting donor relationships.

Through your fundraising expertise, you will have a proven track record of building relationships with corporate partners, individuals and other donors to achieve and exceed annual income targets and KPI’s. You’ll have the capacity to create and craft compelling proposals and appeals that successfully engage and attract donations from new and existing supporters.

Main Duties:

● Proactively identify, engage and build good relationships with prospective corporate donors, successfully securing them as funding partners. Alongside this you’ll deepen engagement and grow our relationships and partnerships with existing corporate donors.

● Work with colleagues across Cambridge City Food Bank, to develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding and partnership proposals that can successfully engage corporate partners and align with their needs, motivations, areas of interests and values.

● Design and deliver excellent, engaging and regular stewardship communications and powerful fundraising appeals alongside establishing the associated data and systems. You will grow our income and pool of individual supporters making one off or monthly donations. You’ll also explore and implement ways of promoting Cambridge City Food Bank to successfully attract an ever-greater number of individual donors.

● Work with and support external consultants and colleagues across CCFb and the wider Trussell Trust networks to help secure fundraising partnerships and income from grant giving trusts and foundations.

● Develop, monitor and manage a fundraising portfolio capable of generating in excess of £1M per annum. You’ll establish a fundraising pipeline, including a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.

● Forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell Trust network, sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the network. As part of a network ‘learning set’, you’ll proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.

We are looking for a Head of Risk Management and Insurance to join RBLs Legal and Assurance team to work closely with the Chief Finance Officer, Executive Board, senior leaders and Trustees on the risk strategy for RBL.

In the key role, you will help our organisation to comply with our legal, constitutional and regulatory requirements regarding all areas of risk management and insurance, and you will ensure RBL has in place sound and integrated policies, procedures and structures throughout.

Day to day you will manage the interface between Trustees, senior management and risk management arrangements of the organisation, and maintain a high standard of risk reporting, risk management and insurance.

Reporting to our Chief Finance Officer, key responsibilities will include:

• Report to the Audit & Risk Committee, ensuring the Committee has a clear view of RBLs risk exposures and the effectiveness of the risk management model
• Provide the Trustees and Executive Directors with assurance, support and information to enable them to comply with Charity Commission requirements regarding risk management

Objective:

2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.

Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

Context of role:

2wish supports anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We are a largely self-funded charity providing support across Wales and more recently, in the bordering counties with England. Our support team works very closely with our fundraising team to increase income but also to raise awareness of the work of 2wish.

This is a unique opportunity for two individuals to raise awareness of the charity, building it’s profile and engaging communities across the English counties that border Wales. It will involve helping to organise fundraising events, working with volunteers and encouraging community fundraising opportunities.

Main duties:

• To help raise awareness of 2wish and the work we do in England
• To work alongside the support team in England, Phase I and to build on the reputation of 2wish
• Research, approach and engage community groups and local supporters using mechanisms for engaging their support to develop additional sources of income
• To liaise with the public in England, Phase I who are fundraising for 2wish
• To support the delivery of community and corporate events, and monitor the income raised
• To attend community and networking events where necessary
• To actively participate in and collaborate on financial planning for England, Phase I as a business unit during regular fundraising meetings
• To submit an annual business plan and budgets for the England fundraising team
• To submit monthly and annual reports to the Fundraising Manager as required and work to monthly targets

The role:

The purpose of this role is to ensure effective, efficient and accurate day-to-day financial management and financial controls for the Fidelity UK and international Foundations, including leading on management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning and delivering the annual reports and accounts for all four Foundations. The post holder will prepare all finance papers for Board and Finance and Investment Subcommittee meetings and will support the oversight of the Foundations’ investment portfolios. This role will also be responsible for managing all payments made by the Foundations, in addition to ensuring risk and compliance guidelines are adhered to at all times.

The person

The successful applicant will have a detailed knowledge of accounting principles, ideally with experience of the charitable sector, and a strong track record of day-to-day financial management in a comparable role. You will have strong analytical skills and be able to demonstrate both operational and strategic thinking. You will have a proficiency in accounting (with a relevant finance qualification) and will be able to evidence the successful production of annual accounts and monthly reporting, ensuring monitoring against budgets. Additionally, you will have strong analytical and reporting skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication and presentation skills, and hands-on experience of explaining complex financial information clearly and concisely. Finally, you will have a high degree of humility and a collaborative style and will be able to pro-actively manage a diverse workload on your own initiative.
