As Business Development Manager, you will lead on all aspects of tender preparation, submission, and follow-up, working closely with operational and central teams to ensure all elements of the bid are aligned with the local delivery strategies and service specifications and progressed in line with tender deadlines.

You will write high-quality tender submissions drawing on expert knowledge from operational colleagues, local intelligence and research of local priorities/strategies and mapping it against the tender specification and instructions. You will maintain a pipeline of grant applications aligned with organisational needs and manage priorities between tender and grant submissions. You will ensure that every tender submission is strategically relevant and aligned with local strategies, priorities, and commissioning themes.  You will also ensure that continuous learning from tender feedback is incorporated into the development of tender submissions.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Experience leading the tendering process, from managing tender portals through submission and handing over to the implementation team.
• An understanding of competitive tendering and experience in producing competitive tenders across a range of formats/styles
• Experience managing tight timescales and progressing multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Experience gathering intelligence from a range of sources and applying it to the local tender
• An understanding of local authority procurement processes

The Role

London Borough of Westminster

This is an exciting opportunity in the Westminster Outreach and Befriending Service for a Family and Volunteer Support Worker to deliver family support and volunteer peer service to families and children under the age of 5, new parents and their families, across the London Borough of Westminster.

This service provides a programme of support for pregnant women and parents/carers which includes face-to-face befriending in the home and community as well as support by phone and video. The aim of the programme is to increase the resilience and emotional wellbeing of parents who are experiencing isolation and require emotional/practical support.

As the Individual Giving Manager, you will work with your team of two senior officers to implement an integrated programme, whilst also project managing key high-impact individual giving campaigns. You will ensure that all campaigns are managed effectively, implementing, and promoting best practice in integrated fundraising campaign management across regular giving, lottery, raffle, cash and emergency appeals, through channels ranging from F2F, digital, telemarketing and direct mail.

We are currently looking at expanding our services by adding an additional service day a week on Tuesdays. This role provides the unique opportunity to be a part of the creation of this service.

Our ideal candidate would have experience working with a team, but also self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision. Understanding or experience of the voluntary sector would be helpful, as would customer service experience.

Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) are recruiting for an Expert by Experience Coordinator to join our supportive and growing team. The Expert by Experience Coordinator is a new role in our small dynamic charity. The postholder will work to ensure the voices and perspectives of individuals with lived experience of asylum and forced migration are integrated into the design and delivery of AFRIL services and policy work. This role involves facilitating communication, promoting co-production, and empowering individuals to share their expertise to improve services and guide policy priorities. 

The post involves coordinating our monthly Members Forum, and working with the core team to feed this into policy and service development, alongside thematic and sometimes practical support to our Allotment Steering Group, Rainbow Club Youth Council and Asylum Hotel Residents Forum. The postholder will develop the AFRIL ambassadors scheme, creating opportunities for former clients to continue to be involved in shaping AFRIL, and work with the Director to develop a governance level co-production structure as agreed with the Board of Trustees. 

We are looking for a good people person, able to engage and inspire others, who demonstrates a collaborative approach to working with a range of stakeholders and in particular AFRIL clients who come from a variety of backgrounds. The postholder will be highly organised, have good project planning and execution skills, and a good working knowledge of the issues affecting refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. Community language skills are an asset.

Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) is a registered charity that supports asylum seekers, refugees, and vulnerable migrants in South East London. We support people to lift themselves out of poverty, assert their rights and rebuild their lives in the heart of our community. We provide both crisis support to meet immediate need, and longer-term, flexible programmes to tackle the underlying problems that lead people to be in crisis, supporting people to integrate, contribute and thrive. • Rainbow Club Supplementary School - providing weekly supplementary education in English and Maths, arts, music and sports activities to children from refugee, migrant  and asylum seeking backgrounds from 4-11 years old, plus youth volunteering programme and Youth Council (NRCSE and Sanctuary Status). 

• Casework and Advocacy Service: providing AQS accredited advice, casework and legal interventions in asylum support, community care, housing, welfare benefits and related matters. Pre-Action Protocol letters to challenge unlawful public law decisions. The service currently provides Level 1 immigration advice under the Immigration Advice Agency.

• Destitution Support - a fortnightly Food Bank in partnership with St Peter’s Church providing food, food vouchers, toiletries, and other essentials, alongside a warm hub with free cafe, information and support. Small grants for essential items and cash payments for food in emergencies. Securing and distributing gifts in kind, e.g. winter coats, laptops and data. 

• Allotment of Refuge - a welcoming community of food growers that supports improved health, wellbeing and integration of members, whilst protecting the local environment. 

• Immigration Project in partnership with Southwark Law Centre, providing free legal advice and representation to support people to regularise their immigration status. 

We also use our frontline experience, together with our clients, to engage in Policy and influencing work to improve the services and policies that impact our client group. This includes advising the GLA on 3 asylum related working groups, and as a member of the London Housing Panel.

Our client is looking for a passionate and driven person to deliver a range of digital communications and GIS mapping outputs that will support the delivery of Nurturing Natural Connections Project. Building on the success of previous projects, this project continues to realise the Cumbernauld Living Landscape long-term vision to improve Cumbernauld’s green spaces for both people and wildlife, helping everyone in the community connect with the nature on their doorstep. 

The candidate:  

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience with at least 2 years’ experience in a communications/GIS related role. They will be skilled in creating high quality digital communicational outputs and have knowledge of monitoring these outputs for the purposes of report writing. This candidate will also support the Project Manager throughout the project and assist with the final report for the funder at the end of the project. 

Main Objectives 

The main objectives of the role are: 

Nurturing Nature

• To support the Natural Heritage Officer in digitising work areas and volunteer recruitment.

Natural Benefits

• To oversee delivery of project communications, including events and activities from across the workstreams, providing content creation, maintenance, support and enhancement for the digital assets, including website(s), social media channels and blogs.

Nature Counts

• To create targeted Community Science surveys on the project’s Nature Counts Platform pages.

• To download, summarise and share ecological date collected as part of the project, as appropriate, and feedback to relevant volunteers.

Nature Network

• To create an interactive digital platform which enables and empowers individuals, volunteer groups, organisations and land managers to take action for nature. Includes iterative design approach with community testing.

• To launch the Nature Network, Engagement and communications built into Project plans.

• Liaise with land managers and provide GIS support for the Nature Network workstream cataloguing landownership parcels around targeted greenspace sites in Cumbernauld.

• Collate and share collections of community historic images and map archives to illustrate change in Cumbernauld’s greenspaces over time as ‘Natures Archive’.

• Assist with the creation of two virtual (VR), and one augmented reality (AR), videos to inspire public connection with their natural environment. Including VR tree trail, 360-degree interactive nature trails and AR video to show impact of habitat interventions across multiple phases of Cumbernauld Living Landscape

Wider project work

• To raise awareness of the projects progress and inspire the local community and stakeholders to take action for nature.

• Work with other teams within the trust, including fundraising department to develop appropriate digital campaigns

• Support project team with in-person and online events and other communications opportunities

• Support the team’s wider communications plan

• Contribute to project reporting, including Monitoring & Evaluation findings across the life of the project, including summarising data, creating infographics and reflecting on highlights and challenges.

The successful candidate will ideally have: 

• Excellent written and spoken communications skills with people from varied technical and non-technical backgrounds. 

• Ability to deal effectively with potentially controversial or sensitive issues. 

• Sound judgement over data and information sharing topics. 

• Good understanding of wildlife conservation in an urban setting. 

• Be highly organised and methodical with excellent time management skills. 

• The ability to think creatively and be adaptable.
