The role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Community/Events fundraiser, who has a passion for the cause of homelessness. You will continue to build a sustainable Events & Community fundraising programme. The role will involve building relationships with donors and fundraisers to increase income from corporates, individuals, and legacies. 

This role plays a pivotal role in growing York Road Project’s voluntary income as well as raising awareness and brand recognition in our local area. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Chief Executive and Fundraising sub-committee to develop and implement a fundraising strategy and execution plan that meet the organisation's income targets.

• Support the Chief Executive in building relationships with major donors.

• Proactively seek out and develop new funding opportunities, with an emphasis on chasing opportunities for long-term and unrestricted income. 

• Develop a York Road Project annual fundraising event/campaign, overseeing all administrative tasks, such as mailing list preparation, guest lists, and distribution on campaign items.

• Promote ‘challenge events’ (such as the Surrey Half Marathon) and encourage supporters to take part.

• Encourage supporters to leave legacies in their wills to support the work of the organisation.

• Collaborate with other colleagues and trustees to ensure a coordinated approach to fundraising.

• Accurately record and manage donor data, keeping records up-to-date and GDPR compliant.

• Promote the idea of regular donations to our ad-hoc donors.

• Stay current on fundraising trends and techniques, act as the charity’s thought-leading expert, and drive these trends and techniques into the organisation's fundraising activities.

• Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with relevant regulation and ethical 

standards; for example, The Fundraising Regulator, The Charity Commission etc.

• Create marketing and promotional material in accordance with York Road Project branding, to support fundraising activities as required.

• Develop a volunteer program to enhance community involvement and contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives. These activities will be fundraising related, in order to engage local businesses.

• Identify opportunities to develop funding support from companies and organisations to elicit support (at local, regional, and national levels).

• Manage low risk press releases and enquiries.

• Create content for social media (and other digital channels) while always ensuring consistency in line with brand guidelines. 

• Plan and drive digital campaigns including Small Charity Week and World Homeless Day.

Head of Income Generation & Communications

As a local mental health charity Buckinghamshire Mind has been working for  110 years to stand up for better mental health in Buckinghamshire and East Berkshire. We are an independent charity, proud to be affiliated with national Mind and play our part in the Mind federation.

Finance Director [maternity cover]

About the role

The Finance Director (“FD”) will oversee the financial activities of the charity and will be responsible for overseeing the charity’s finances and finance team, driving financial planning and managing financial risks.

The FD will need to have the ability and confidence to apply judgement and leadership skills to make sure that the charity executes strategies and plans in a timely and thorough manner.

This is a 12-month contract starting Autumn 2024, ideally 20 hours/week, but we would consider other working patterns for the right candidate.

The permanent FD role is subject to a genuine occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian due to our ethos and the strategic nature of the role however, given the temporary nature of this appointment, we have removed the requirement, although still desirable. We instead are looking for a candidate who is sympathetic to the Christian faith and/or our ethos.

The salary for this role is £44,000-£50,000 (plus pension and expenses) full-time-equivalent, dependent on experience.

The role will be based at The King’s Centre in Osney Mead, Oxford, but will involve some travel around Oxfordshire and can also include some homeworking.

Key relationships

On a day-to-day basis, you will be working with a range of team leaders, including our chair of trustees, Executive Officer, Operations Director, church leaders, school principal, chair of The King’s Centre Limited, and the finance team.

You will attend the Strategic Oversight Group, comprising a handful of these team leaders, who work collaboratively on charity-wide goals and challenges.

Responsibilities

Financial

• Developing and controlling the operational budget, in conjunction with the Finance, Risk & Audit Committee.
• Overseeing and managing the Finance Team, empowering the finance team with the leadership and resources they need.
• Reviewing the efficiency of the charity’s financial processes and taking steps to improve them.
• Ensuring that the necessary funding has been resourced to facilitate operational growth.
• Ensuring that an effective remuneration system is in place for employees, in conjunction with the Operations Director and Remuneration Committee.
• Providing advice and support on financial matters to all operational areas of the charity and its subsidiaries.

Governance

The Assistant Schools Officer (Organisation and Estates) is a crucial role at the Diocese, as you will act as the first point of contact from church schools, site trustees, our consultants and other professional advisers regarding school estates and buildings, site ownership and educational endowments.

Reporting to the Schools Officer and working within the Children, Young People and Education department, you will support the Board’s statutory responsibilities in promoting education across the Diocese; particularly in advising school leaders and governors in relation to school organisation and the use or development of land and buildings.

As Assistant Schools Officer, you will provide support by monitoring projects relating to school estates (building developments, maintenance and repairs) and make proactive enquiries and interventions to sustain progress against recorded timescales.

You will also take responsibility for managing the schools’ Devolved Formula Capital (DFC) grant held by the Diocese; guiding schools in interpreting definitions regarding suitable DFC projects, liaising with schools regarding available funding and helping schools to prioritise projects/the application of funds effectively for estate management.

A crucial part of our strategy is to assess the environmental impact of the Diocese’s church schools, planning for and supporting schools to advance decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects. As Assistant Schools Officer you will regularly update and signpost church schools to banks of practical materials and resources for decarbonisation campaigns, toolkits and projects, building case studies of best practice.

With relevant professional experience in an education, administrative, property or project support context, you should be capable of supporting projects and have the ability to apply understanding to tasks. Able to summarise complex information clearly, you should be able to explain the progress of projects to those with no specialist understanding.

Forward thinking, adaptable and responsive to a varied work programme, you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have evidence of recent study, training or development and a willingness to learn new knowledge and technical skills.

It is essential for you to be supportive of the vision of the CYPE team and to be sympathetic to the contribution of Church of England schools to Christian mission.

An understanding and awareness of Church of England structures and knowledge of the current educational landscape within the context of church schools, along with experience of budget management or monitoring financial reports would be desirable.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Planning

· Work closely with the Board of Trustees and the senior leadership team to devise, implement and deliver Riverside’s strategy and business plan

Your duties as the Head of Care, will include, but not be limited to:

• Act as The Nominated Individual for The Meath and the point of contact for the CQC.
• Operate as a member of the SMT in the implementation of senior management decisions, sharing KPIs, business goals and The Meath Values.

• To supervise and manage the registered Managers and lead the Managers’ team meetings and briefings.
• Monitor and guide the Managers to maintain paperwork required under legislation, e.g. CQC framework assessment requirements, MCA, DOLs and Safeguarding.
• Regularly attend all services, to monitor standards and provide feedback to the Managers as appropriate.
• Encourage communication and best practice by promoting an open environment for discussion providing the opportunity for constructive feedback.
• Be available in emergency situations to assist and support The Managers.
• To be conversant with and implement the Meath policies and procedures, taking an active role in their review and ensure they are adhered to.
• In collaboration with the Head of Risk and Compliance, oversee the annual KLOE audit process and ensure actions are completed effectively.

• Must hold an appropriate Health & Social Care qualification, QCF Level 5.
• Understanding of the fundamental standards and KLOEs

• To be able to ‘hit the ground running’.

Job description
The Volunteer Coordinator roles are vital components of this project. We want to attract candidates from the East of England with sound local knowledge (who are able to travel around the area) both of which will be important parts of this job.

Purpose of the role:

• To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within one of the regional areas.
• Delivering training to volunteers so they can deliver information sessions to community groups. 
• Organising community events where information sessions are delivered by volunteers.
• Ensuring information sessions are delivered to the highest and consistent standards, and that feedback requests are acted upon swiftly.

Hours of employment are:

East of England 0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
12 month fixed term contract. Core hours are 10am-12pm and 2-4pm with an unpaid lunch break.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Programme Coordinator is co-ordinate with all parties (Community Engagement Manager, the Programme Manager, LMK Leaders and the host organisations) to enable LMK to deliver high quality workshops for young people/youth work professionals/workplaces. 

Acting as the lynchpin of the organisation’s delivery team, the Programme Coordinator takes the workshop brief from the LMK Community Engagement Manager and then works with the Programme Manager to secure facilitators (LMK leaders), ensures the host organisation receives all supporting information, and provides LMK Leaders with the resources they need to deliver the workshop effectively. This role is also responsible for regular reporting about workshop bookings and delivery. 

Reporting to our CEO, the successful candidate will be part of LMK’s core staff team. You will work with LMK staff, LMK Leaders, members of our Youth Advisory Board, trustees and key stakeholders to develop and implement our long-term strategy. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Provide excellent customer service to organisations who are hosting LMK workshops, ensuring that all communication is timely and accurate, and any questions are responded to in full.

• Liaise with the Programme Manager and LMK Leaders to ensure there is clear understanding around their areas of expertise, availability and any specific considerations that need to be taken into account when delivering workshops.

• Open up opportunities to deliver workshops to any Leader applicable, ensuring the allocation of workshops is done fairly and consistently.

• Ensure LMK leaders have the information and resources required to deliver their workshop.

• Work closely with the Research and Evaluation Manager to ensure that the correct evaluation surveys are made available to workshop participants. 

• Work with our Head of Fundraising to track workshop delivery against funder commitments.

• Keep the CRM system data up to date in a timely way.

• Produce regular reports for the CEO on the booking and delivery of workshops, as well as any ad-hoc reports requested. 

• Share Leader evaluation feedback from workshops with Leaders.

• Check invoices submitted by LMK leaders, and work with the Programme Manager to get them approved. 

• Support the Programme Manager to organise LMK Leader Huddles and training events.

• Comply with our policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, complaints and data protection.

Person specification

• At least 2 years’ experience in an event management/admin management/executive assistant/operations role where there was a strong requirement to work with multiple stakeholders internally and externally.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an excellent track record of customer service.

• Proven ability to work well within a team.

• Highly organised to manage a diverse workload with excellent time management and ability to pay attention to detail.

• Excellent organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• Creative thinker with the ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

The coordinator roles are vital components of this project. We want to attract candidates from the North West of England with sound local knowledge and willing/able to travel in the region - these will be important parts of this job.

Purpose of the roles:

• To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within the North West.
• Delivering training to volunteers so they can deliver information sessions to community groups. 
• Organising community events where information sessions are delivered by volunteers.
• Ensuring information sessions are delivered to the highest and consistent standards, and that feedback requests are acted upon swiftly.

Hours of employment are:

0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
12 month fixed term contract. Core hours are 10am-12pm and 2-4pm with an unpaid lunch break.
