Combat Stress is the UK's leading mental health charity for veterans. About the role:
An opportunity has arisen for a Planned Giving Officer to join our growing award winning team. We are responsible for both legacy fundraising and administration as well as in memory giving. This is a real growth area in the fundraising team and one you will be an integral part of.
You will be working with the Head of Planned Giving and the Senior Planned Giving Officer. This role will involve a certain amount of administration, complying with Charity Commission Guidelines. Also you will be helping with supporter enquiries and interactions so must be comfortable talking with supporters. This is an exciting role as you will be part of the team which ensures supporters are aware of how vital gifts in Wills are as well as sharing the work of Combat Stress.

Job title - Events Fundraiser
Office Location – Wendover, Bucks.
Salary - Up to £30,000 (FTE)

About the Role
The Events Fundraiser will support the charity’s aim to provide all life-limited children, their families, and carers, within their hospice, emotional support through the power and pleasure of nature. The post holder will be responsible for generating income through the management of a range of fundraising events, as well as supporting individuals organising their own fundraising activities within their community and/or corporate environment.
You will ensure efficient event management and administration as well as provide excellent supporter care.
The Event Fundraiser will:
- Project manage a range of events, including planning, marketing, and supporter stewardship, through to event delivery and evaluation.
- Effectively manage internal and external stakeholders to deliver and schedule events, on time, within budget, meeting fundraising goals.
- Deliver exceptional supporter care to those who support the work of the charity.
- Plan and deliver events, including logistics, briefing of stakeholders and volunteers, compiling risk assessments and any other tasks relevant to ensuring an excellent supporter experience.
- Ensure the supporter database is accurate and up to date, as well as follow all relevant financial processes to ensure event income and expenditure are accurately recorded.
- Report fortnightly to the Director of Fundraising & Communications on agreed fundraising targets and activity.
- Be responsible for ensuring relevant community and events pages, news, and forms on the Greenfingers website are accurate and up to date.
- Work collaboratively with the team.
- Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required.
- Work in line with the Fundraising Regulator and Charity Commission guidelines, and other relevant codes of conduct.
Working as an integral part of the Fundraising & Communications Team, you will be:

We are seeking a creative, collaborative and effective fundraiser to drive long-lasting improvements for millions of farmed animals.

This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week over Monday to Friday.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced to 30 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday, with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms with the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 37.5 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided.

Primary Duties:

Thanking and stewarding some of our key major donors - acting as a direct point of contact for their queries and questions, keeping them updated with our work, thanking them for their support and donations, building strong, long-term relationships, and developing them as prospects or donors to elicit further gifts, through regular email, telephone and face-to-face contact, thank you cards, networking, written updates, online and face-to-face meetings, and other feedback as appropriate.

Creating and submitting funding asks to secure funding and achieve your own fundraising targets and those of the wider organisation, with a focus on securing multi-year funding. This will include creating cases for support and funding briefs for specific projects, working with the Programs Team to pull together all relevant information, as well as completing bespoke funding proposals. You will also need to be able to identify opportunities, know when is the right time to make an ask and what type of ask it should be, whether a one-off gift, multi-year funding, unrestricted or for a specific project, or match funding to help leverage a specific campaign or appeal.

Coordinating our funding pipeline - managing and monitoring what stages our major givers are at in their cultivation journey, tracking details of funding applications/asks made, managing deadlines for applications and monitoring reports, tracking and reconciling donations and providing receipts, securing relevant funding agreements, and capturing the motivations, giving history and details of interactions of our donors.

Leading on the development of our quarterly newsletter - a document designed as a key engagement tool specifically for our major gifts audience, to keep them up to date on our latest news, victories and forthcoming plans.

Mapping out and developing our major donor programme for the next twelve months and beyond - planning a calendar of content and touch points to further cultivate and steward our key donors, such as exclusive webinars, networking meet-ups or larger fundraising events.

Coordinating the major donor version of our annual supporter survey - collaborating with colleagues to align this to our general supporter survey, targeting questions with a major donor audience in mind, collating and analysing responses, and using them to inform and develop our major donor programme.

Hosting donors at events - inviting them to protests and other events, such as our legal challenge against the use of Frankenchickens, and making sure they are well looked after.

Prospect research - identifying, researching and assessing potential new major gifts prospects, and then developing cultivation plans for further engagement.

Supporting the Head of Development with our trust and grant fundraising. This could include collaborating with consultants to complete prospect research and applications, creating and submitting low-level funding bids, and working with colleagues from across the organisation, to coordinate the submission of monitoring reports for our funders.

Helping drive understanding of and engagement with fundraising across the organisation, with staff, volunteers and trustees - giving presentations, leading workshops with other departments, engaging staff, volunteers and trustees in the thanking process (i.e. getting them to send thank you cards to donors), and regularly updating the wider team on fundraising progress.

Supporting other fundraising campaigns and initiatives, such as our end of year appeal, working with your colleagues in the Development Team to help find match funders from our pool of our major givers.

Release Counselling and Therapy for Women was set up in Brighton and Hove in January 2013, and registered as a UK charity in 2020, to provide affordable counselling and other forms of support for women across Sussex experiencing mental health distress. We specialise in maternal mental health, supporIng mothers and their babies during the perinatal period, a key Ime of transiIon in a women’s life in which many experience vulnerable mental health. Main Purpose and scope of role
1.Leadership
Provide leadership for the charity and its staff by -

3.Strategy
- Work with the board of trustees to develop the strategic direcIon for the charity in line with the charity’s mission and objectives.

4.Operations
- Ensure the charity is resourced to meet the objecIves of the strategic plans.
- Lead fundraising activities for the organisation, including income generaIon, monitoring and evaluation securing diverse income from government grants, foundations, corporate sponsors and individual donors.
- Manage the financial performance of the charity, including setting budgets and providing financial reporting to the board of trustees.

5.Service delivery
- Manage the successful delivery of the charity’s work in line with its contractual obligations.
- Manage and upskill a team of staff, ensuring they are fully skilled and able to deliver effectively for the organisation.

6.Communications and PR
- Manage all internal and external communicaIons for the charity.
- Act as a spokesperson and first point of contact for all press and media enquiries.

- To work alongside the Designated Trustee Lead for Safeguarding in creating a culture of high safeguarding standards throughout the organisation.

The Door is a Christian youth charity based in Gloucestershire, established in 1991 for the benefit of all young people aged 11 to 25 and their families. We are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Bid Coordinator to join our Fundraising Team. Within the team you’d be responsible for generating income from The Door’s fundraising portfolio to meet our budgeted current and future service delivery needs, and specifically for raising income from grants and tender bids. You’d coordinate the end-to-end process of bid submission, from researching funding opportunities to writing compelling bids to ensuring the timely delivery of reports to funders.
You’ll be an excellent written communicator, with the ability to compose accurate, concise and persuasive prose, strong administrative and relationship management skills, experience of working with budgets and a good eye for detail. You should have experience of writing successful funding bids and reports. A detailed understanding of the wider funding environment in the voluntary sector is also highly desirable.

- A practical understanding of fundraising, GDPR and charity regulation.
- Knowledge of and proven ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies.

The purpose of the role is to drive and deliver our ambitious fundraising strategy in order to support the work of Life. The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for shaping and delivering the end-to-end experience of existing supporters as well as attaining new supporters.
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and leading the Individual Giving Team, the post holder will work closely with colleagues across the fundraising and marketing teams to; create, test, monitor and evaluate appeals and campaigns, lead on Legacy (and in-memoriam giving) lottery and raffle and other income streams associated with individual giving. The post holder will be working to and reporting on ambitious income and expenditure targets and ensuring that supporters have a positive experience of the charity.
The postholder will lead a Donor Administration Manager to deliver on a positive donor/supporter experience with the aim of retention of current supporters for the long term as well as acquisition of new donors, maximising the potential of all of our supporters. It forms a central part of the overall fundraising strategy, with the ultimate aim of growing our individual giving income to increase the impact of the charity and benefit those needing support in pregnancy, pregnancy loss or in the early years of a baby.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, develop and implement a cohesive supporter journey strategy focussed on supporter needs and continuous re-engagement
· Champion best practice and stewardship with individual supporters

Research & Service Development
· Identify individual giving trends and use this knowledge to continually develop new products for the charity
· In line with GDPR and complying with all legislation and the Code of Fundraising Practice: ensure fundraising and campaigns are insight-led and focused on long-term growth
· Oversee the compliance of third party agencies to ensure activity is carried out in line with the values of Life, the Fundraising Code of Practice and the law
· Input fully into the wider fundraising strategy by working closely with fellow managers and the team as a whole
Information Management
· Ensure data and information systems are up to date and provide an accurate picture of supporter segmentation, communications, preferences, permissions, requests, gifts and pledges
· Create regular and detailed reports to monitor individual giving performance against campaigns and targets

Personal and People Development

Head of Lotteries and Gaming
The Head of Lotteries and Gaming will lead the charities Lotteries and Gaming team which has the goal of generating and inspiring support from both new and existing supporters.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop a clear vision and strategy to deliver sustainable income growth within the Lotteries and Gaming channel.
- Drive and oversee all day-to-day activity around lotteries and gaming, ensuring campaigns are effectively coordinated and that broader teams are enabled to support delivery

- Ensure that the operations of the entire income stream, including those delivered by external parties, adhere to guidance and legislation set out by associated regulatory bodies. This includes but is not limited to the Gambling Commission, Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator and Chartered Institute of Fundraising best practice guidelines
- Partner with colleagues within the broader Income Generation and Marketing and Communications Teams to ensure consistency of the charity’s brand and message within the department’s activities.
About you:
- Experience of delivering income growth within Individual Giving through prize led fundraising, whilst delivering excellent service to all donors.
- Practical experience collecting and using data to monitor campaigns and make evidence-based recommendations

- Experience of leading and managing teams, and motivating, and developing team members.
