The Role
The Community Fundraising role is crucial in building and sustaining the supporter base and providing excellent stewardship, across the East Midlands region. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to further their career in fundraising.

The Person
We are looking for a Community Fundraiser with experience in stewardship and donor management. You should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse sensitively and empathetically with people who may be going through traumatic experience.
Previous experience in fundraising is desirable however, we are also keen to speak with people who have transferable skills including meeting financial targets, working proactively, independently and flexibly. We have an exciting opportunity for successful candidates to train as a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner in our Adult Drug and Alcohol services.
We have places available in Cornwall, Bournemouth and North Somerset and you will be enrolled with the University of Exeter to undertake the training element of the course. We also have places available in Darlington, Rotherham, Grimsby, and Scunthorpe. For these positions, you will be enrolled with the University of Hull to undertake the training element of the course.
Being a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner involves providing compassionate, person centred care for adults (including older people), which is hopeful and focused on their goals. It begins with skilled information gathering, information giving and shared decision-making, with the intention of enabling access to the best community and professional resources that can help. It also involves delivering specific psychological interventions under supervision from a suitably qualified psychological professional. A full job description is available on request.
The trainee salary for this role will be £25,147, rising to £28,407 upon qualifying. This is a 12 month contract, ending in September 2025.

Aid Box Community (ABC) is a Bristol charity that provides hope, love and a sense of belonging to people seeking asylum in Bristol. The charity was started 7 years ago on the Refugee camps in France by a local mum and has grown and evolved to support over 5000 people a year through our Free Shop and Welcome Hub, Activity Groups and Trips and Connections Befriending program. We have 336 volunteers and a fantastic, small team and we are looking for a part time Finance Officer.
The job is for 15hrs a week ideally to be worked over 2 or 3 days Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Based at the ABC office, Portland Square, Bristol and some home working on agreement.
We are a small team, and you may be asked to do something outside of your Job Description and help support other members of the Aid Box team.
Job Description:
The Finance Officer will have a wide variety of financial management and control tasks from day to day bookkeeping to filing year end accounts. They will formally report to the Director of Strategy and liaise regularly with the Board Treasurer.
Role Overview
The Finance Officer is responsible for the smooth running of all day-to-day aspects of the financial management of Aid Box Community (ABC):

Provide a high quality and effective financial management and Bookkeeping service to the charity

Prepare, develop and analyse management accounting information and reports, including a standard suite of monthly reports and ad-hoc reports as required by the Charity

Ensure compliance with all relevant financial statutory and regulatory matters relevant to the Charity

Liaison with the external Auditor in preparing and getting approval and sign off of the annual statutory accounts
Key responsibilities:
The postholder will advise the charity on all matters relating to the finance of the organisation and provide management information for the Board of trustees. They will also be expected to contribute to future strategy, business planning, year-end accounts, monitoring of budgets and performance, and full adherence to al financial policies and procedures in accordance with the Finance Manual. Duties include:
Financial Management
Accountancy and Bookkeeping Systems
Maintenance of all accounting records on an ongoing basis to include:
· Manage all income and expenditure processing.
· Maintain and improve bookkeeping and accountancy systems (both computerised and manual) including:
- Bank reconciliations.
- Cash flow management.
- Income and grant analysis (restricted and designated funds).
- Bank receipts and payments.

Accounts payable
· Process purchase invoices in an accurate and timely manner.

· Control and Monitoring of restricted funds including detailed records of spend allocation of funds and remaining balance.
· Accurately accounting for all income receipts monthly including donations from individuals and organisations and grants and claiming any appropriate Gift Aid.
Budgets
· Monitor the budget against actual and investigate any major variations in budget.
· Involvement in strategic and planning projections with the Director of Strategy.
Reports
Produce regular management information so that key officers and trustees know how well the charity is performing against its budget. To include:

Provide regular monthly management financial information (including financial highlights/budget against actual/restricted and unrestricted funds/fund movement summary/fund balances/balance sheet) for the Director of Strategy and Board of Trustees.

Quarterly financial reports for the Board of Trustees including detailed analysis of income and expenditure.

Assisting with fundraising applications and reports.
Annual Financial Audit

Liaising with the external accountants for Annual Financial Accounts and Annual Review preparation before presenting to the Board annually for approval alongside the Director of Strategy.

Filing Annual Return to the Charity Commission.
Bank and Treasury Management

Treasury management in connection with cash and investments held by the charity.

Manage cash flow and ensure that bank charges are kept to a minimum.
Fundraising
· Assisting with applications for funding ensuring that all grants, sponsorship and donations are paid on time and the financial conditions met.
Communication and Coordination

Ensure the efficient circulation of financial information as needed, including that required from external advisers, e.g., auditors.

Liaise with and advise the Director of Strategy and others as appropriate on all financial matters.

Liaise with and maintain a good working relationship with bankers, accountants, auditors and donors.

Liaise and maintain a good working relationship with volunteers, staff and Board of Trustees.

Experience, qualifications, and requirements
Qualified or part qualified Bookkeeper or with considerable experience in a similar role preferably in the charitable or not for profit sector

About Us
The Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) VCSE Alliance launched in January 2024. It aims to influence and facilitate greater collaboration between the regional health system (BNSSG Integrated Care System) and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE). It seeks to do this by enhancing the role of the VCSE sector in the delivery and transformation of wellbeing and health, and cementing our sector’s role as a key strategic partner in the planning, design and delivery of health and care, in its widest possible definition.
The co-design of a new ‘VCSE Brokerage Framework’ with colleagues from the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and System (ICS) is a key priority for the VCSE Alliance in 2024-25. The aim of the Brokerage Framework is to provide a clear, fair, inclusive and proportionate way for health and social care system partners to reach a diverse range of VCSE organisations. The intention is that will be a new process by which grants and opportunities can be distributed to the sector.

The Role:
The VCSE Brokerage Administrator's role is to support the further development, piloting, and preparation for launch of the VCSE Brokerage Framework. The role will work closely with the soon to be recruited VCSE Brokerage Manager and the current VCSE Alliance team. Ensuring that we have a clear, efficient and effective administrative process for the Brokerage Framework will be fundamental to its success.
About You
We're looking for someone who has experience of working in an administrative role who can bring a high level of competency, efficiency and organisation. You'll need to be able to work independently and use your own initiative at times, whilst being able to work with colleagues from multiple organisations.
You are an organised individual with a successful track record of administration and project support. Your skills include:
- Ability to develop and manage office systems, databases, and processes
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload without supervision
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential data and information
The Details

- Salary: £28,383 per annum (FTE) - £17,259.93 (pro rata)

The postholder will need to ideally be within or close to South Wales as regular contact with prospects and partners will be required.
As Corporate Partnerships Manager – Wales, you will be supported by the Supporter Fundraising Manager (your line manager), and work alongside a Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager and Senior Philanthropy Manager. You will manage a varied and exciting portfolio of new and longstanding partners across Wales (focused primarily on South Wales) and identify, develop and win new corporate support through Charity of the Year, events, commercial and strategic opportunities.

We are recruiting for a Representation Manager to be the Department Manager of the Representation team, and to run our Academic Representation System, in collaboration and partnership with UWE Bristol!
The Representation Manager is also the organisational lead for Democracy and Governance here at The Students’ Union at UWE. This includes our annual Elections, supporting elected presidents and part time officers, keeping up to date on current policy and the constitution, and making recommendations for change to the Director of Engagement.
Our Representation Manager will be contributing to key strategic areas of our work, supported by our Director of Engagement including our reimaging Representation project in partnership with UWE Bristol, and improving the way we run our Elections. The Representation Manager works closely with student leaders and representatives to deepen partnerships and develop strategies to lobby or influence decision makers to achieve policy change related to the academic experience. This postholder will also enhance the democratic operation of The Students’ Union through coherent governance and a robust and effective elections process. The person in this role will also manage a number of key stakeholder relationships, particularly with academic College and support staff, so you’ll be an effective communicator and able to produce high quality reports.
The Representation Manager will be responsible for effectively managing the three Representation Coordinators in post, leading the department to develop, facilitate and support the system of academic student representation and deliver and showcase impact. With the support of the Representation Manager, the Representation Coordinators will support, develop and enable a network of over 1,000 student representatives, a core part of our Representation system.
You’ll have experience of coordinating, developing, or managing successful projects, you could have background in developing policy, and/or engaging with customers and stakeholders to receive feedback and making changes as a result. You will know how to collaborate with different people, building strong and effective relationships. You’re an effective project manager who can develop and oversee structures and processes and can bring creativity and ideas to problem solving.
Being a people manager here at The Students’ Union at UWE will involve using our people excellence tools to enable staff to feel supported and empowered during their employee lifecycle to achieve their objectives and results. This will include conducting a comprehensive induction for new starters, ensuring staff understand their job descriptions and daily responsibilities, conducting regular 121s, probation reviews and annual performance reviews.
