Role overview:

As a Lead Assessor, you'll play a pivotal role in upholding the integrity of our AP scheme. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct comprehensive assessment visits to units undergoing evaluation within the scheme. Working hand in hand with service user perspective assessors, you'll monitor all Headway AP core domains during onsite visits.

Key responsibilities:

• Review relevant documentation ahead of onsite visits.
• Collaborate with service user perspective assessors during visits, focusing on core domain monitoring.
• Facilitate post-visit debriefing meetings with assessors to ensure thorough discussion and alignment.
• Maintain open communication channels with the AP Manager to address any assessment-related queries or challenges.
• Prepare detailed assessment reports in collaboration with assessors, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Deliver finalised reports to the AP Manager and communicate outcomes to units undergoing assessment.

Flexibility and expectations:

This role offers flexibility, with the expectation of completing a minimum of 4 assessments within a year. This allows you to balance your professional commitments while making a meaningful impact within our AP scheme.

Hourly rate and expenses:

The hourly rate for this role is £20.00, covering administrative tasks pre and post-visit, visit duration, and travel time. Additionally, travel expenses will be covered.

Candidate profile:

• Hold a professional qualification (e.g., OT, SaLT, Nursing, Physio) with demonstrated experience in ABI.
• Exhibit unwavering objectivity and impartiality during assessments.
• Uphold strict confidentiality standards in handling sensitive information.
• Possess a solid understanding of key legislation and frameworks pertinent to ABI care provision.
• Able to review and analyse evidence thoroughly.

The Women’s Centre Cornwall has grown from its early roots as a Rape Crisis Centre into an innovative, award-winning feminist organisation which provides a wide range of services for women and girls in our communities. Our work with survivors of sexual and domestic violence is our core specialism as we believe that there can be no real gender equality without a complete cessation of violence against women. In addition, we provide community-based activities across Cornwall and support women ex-offenders across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and HMP Eastwood Park in Gloucestershire.

PURPOSE

The Effective Women’s Centre Project drives forwards and embeds a culture of data quality across The Women’s Centre Cornwall. We are looking for and experienced Data and Systems Lead to work with Managers to improve our data collection and reporting from our case management systems. The successful candidate will provide meaningful and accessible management information, outcomes monitoring, and performance reports; while supporting our Monitoring, Impact & Evaluation Manager to develop ways for us to demonstrate our impact and share stories of change. She will also support our Lived Experience Groups to ensure the experiences of women are at the heart of the organisation and inform our planning and decisions.  The Data & Systems Lead will be responsible for continued implementation and project management of the Women’s Risk and Needs Assessment (WRNA) across our services. The WRNA is part of the Effective Women’s Centres Project which is designed to improve current understanding of the needs and strengths of women and to consolidate the evidence base for the effectiveness of Women’s Centres.

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

DATA & REPORTING

• Lead on the development of TWCC’s data and case management systems (CMS) ensuring buy-in, consistency and accuracy across the organisation.
• Lead on developing reporting within the organisations case management systems.
• Cultivating a Learning Culture around data within the organisation.
• Extracting quantitative data from the CMS; carrying out quality audits and cleaning and organising the data in preparation for analysis.
• Delivering training to teams ensuring they understand the requirements and importance of data collection in a way that is engaging and inclusive
• Conducting in-depth ongoing data analysis to identify improvement opportunities, risks and issues.

THE WOMEN’S RISK & NEEDS ASSESSMENT (WRNA)

• Building upon the newly introduced Women’s Risk and Needs Assessment (WRNA) across the Open Team and supporting wider Women’s Centre teams to adopt the tool.
• Working with Service Managers, providing support to the Team Leaders, sharing learning and guidance on the use of the tool. 
• Monitor the progress of the implementation of WRNA and take appropriate action if any issues are identified.
• Organise and deliver training to enable practitioners to use the WRNA.
• Lead on integration of WRNA with case management software.
• Monitor recruitment of women to the WRNA project and quality of data inputted in the assessments.
• Lead on internal communications and messaging around implementation of the WRNA.
• Sharing learning with other women’s centres involved in the Effective Women’s Centre’s project.
• Develop and deliver a project plan which ensures WRNA is rolled out consistently across the organisation.

LIVED EXPERIENCE WORK

• Co-facilitate the Lived Experience Group and involve women with lived experience in the implementation of the Effective Women’s Centres project and across our wider services.

Fundraising Manager

£38,000 – £41,000 FTE dependent on experience. Reporting to the CEO. Four days, based at Jecca’s House, Chipping Campden.

Responsibilites:

Fundraising – General 

• To deliver a continuous fundraising operation to meet the short, medium and long-term revenue needs of the charity as determined by the CEO and Board of Trustees 
• Establish and maintain positive relationships across the organisation and an in-depth understanding of the charity’s needs and priorities to ensure your fundraising activity contributes positively 
• Development and maintenance of key resources to support our fundraising activity, including case for support, programme schedule and budgets 
• To develop corporate sponsorship proposals and be prepared to respond promptly to funding offers and opportunities 
• To steward regular donors, ensure they receive appropriate thanks and are kept informed

Langdon hospital in Dawlish is the base for Devon Partnership Trust’s Inpatient Secure Mental Health Services. Advocacy has an office on site and advocates travel between the office and two on site inpatient units:

The hospital supports men from South-West England who, because of their mental health needs, have had contact with the legal system and require a safe and secure environment where they can receive treatments, therapies, and care to help them recover. Sometimes people are accepted without criminal charges pending, where there is evidence of significant risk to others in the context of mental disorder.

How you will make a difference

The role focusses on a single remit of advocacy service delivery, IMHA.  At times, it may be necessary for you to carry out cases for the people you are supporting from additional remits, for example to complete a qualification portfolio or because it best suits the needs of the person to have the same advocate. However, most of your caseload will be working within your single remit, at times working collaboratively with other advocates. You will manage your own caseload, using a person-led, issue-based advocacy approach, closing cases efficiently when the work has concluded and identifying when the person you are supporting has additional advocacy needs, ensuring an appropriate referral is raised, signposting is considered, and any unmet needs are recorded.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE SLT

Contract: Permanent

CENTRE ADMINISTRATOR

We are looking for a Trusts and Grants Officer to join our busy and creative Fundraising Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience of making successful applications to trusts, foundations and other grant making organisations to build and steward a portfolio of funders as we set out on the beginning of our trusts fundraising journey.

About the role

This role is being offered at a minimum of 14 hours per week and a maximum of 21 hours per week, to be worked during office hours Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

You will work closely with colleagues across the charity, learning about the different services we provide to both animals and pet owners and shaping projects for funding from your findings.

In particular you will:

• Research, identify and prioritise applications to trusts and foundations for which Bristol A.R.C. meets the funding criteria.
• Analyse the trusts and foundations landscape to enable the charity to fully understand the scope for potential funding
• Work with colleagues across the charity to create strong cases for support and shape projects for funding across all areas of our work. Ensure that we are maximising our trust and foundation funding potential by highlighting the lesser-known areas of our work and wide range of beneficiaries (animals and human).
• Write and submit high quality, targeted funding applications, including multi-year funding requests where appropriate.
• Maintain the trusts and foundations prospect and funder records on our fundraising database.
• Work with the Finance Department to ensure trusts and foundation income is administered correctly.

About you:

• You will have a creative approach to your work, ensuring that we are maximising our funding potential by highlighting the lesser-known areas of our work and our wide range of beneficiaries both animal and human.
• You will take a strategic approach, prioritising your workload to ensure you are balancing your time between researching potential funders, making high quality, targeted funding applications and stewarding organisations who have already supported our work.

What we are looking for in you:

• Proven experience and success in developing and drafting proposals and/or reports raising funds from trusts, foundations and other grant making organisations.
• Experience of research techniques applicable to identifying funding opportunities and framing funding bids.
• Able to convey complex information accurately, succinctly and engagingly.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent IT skills, including strong understanding of databases.
• Resilience and ability to use own initiative, manage competing demands, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

The Women’s Centre Cornwall has grown from its early roots as a Rape Crisis Centre into an innovative, award-winning feminist organisation which provides a wide range of services for women and girls in our communities. Our work with survivors of sexual and domestic violence is our core specialism as we believe that there can be no real gender equality without a complete cessation of violence against women. In addition, we provide community-based activities across Cornwall and support women ex-offenders across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and HMP Eastwood Park in Gloucestershire.

 PURPOSE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Training Manager to oversee the planning, design, delivery, and evaluation of our annual training initiatives. Collaborating across teams, she will identify needs, develop programs, and ensure staff and volunteer development across the organisation. The role involves creating engaging materials, using innovative methods, and monitoring program effectiveness. Aligned with organisational goals, the Training Manager will foster a culture of learning and inclusion, contributing to a skilled and motivated team dedicated to advancing the Women’s Centre Cornwall’s mission of empowering and supporting women in the community. The successful candidate will also lead on developing a fully sustainable external training arm for the charity.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• To review all existing training, update material and improve the organisation-wide training provision.
• Designing, organising and promoting a range of high-quality courses for staff and volunteers across the organisation.
• To deliver and facilitate TWCC training programmes, both internally and externally.
• Line management and supervision of 2 Training Coordinators, motivating and supporting them to meet their objectives.
• Coordination of annual training schedule across the staff team.
• Work closely with Managers, staff and volunteers to develop and deliver training courses
• To deliver train-the-trainer training both internally and externally
