Longborough Festival Opera is seeking a hands-on, proactive individual to join the team as Head of Finance working closely with the Executive Director to deliver our strategic objectives. You will ensure highly effective financial management and controls for the charity and support non-finance managers with budget management. You will be a strategic thinker and efficient planner, a detail-orientated person who enjoys working as a core part of a small team and is self-motivated when working remotely. The Head of Finance will be responsible for:
Finance: Preparation of annual budgets, financial reporting & modelling. Be the lead for the year-end and audit process. Preparation and monitoring of cash-flow. Ensure robust and effective financial systems and processes. Taxation calculations and compliance. Manage the monthly payroll, pension and HMRC submissions
HR: Managing the HR processes and record keeping
Other: Line manage the Finance & Administration Assistant, company secretarial duties, support with fundraising and other administrative tasks. Working closely with the Box Office team to ensure all income is recorded and reconciled to finance systems

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

 To assist with handling all incoming requests for help, both by telephone and email, to listen to and record the needs of older and/or terminally ill people and their pets. 

To identify individuals outside our charitable remit and refer them to other organisations that can offer assistance and always seek advice in the case of doubt.

To  raise a computerised record or case to log the call.

To help support the department with any administration process including inputting information on to our database.

This post will require a good overall understanding of the needs of older people and their pets.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

i. To listen to the needs of each Owner and accurately record information for each Owner and their pet by completion of a computerised case. 

ii. To ensure you record all of your communications onto the database in an accurate and timely fashion by way of comments on each Owner case at the end of each conversation and appropriately refer to Management about urgent cases.

iii. To help maintain up-to-date records and mailing lists for Owners, Owners’ contacts and volunteers throughout the course of your work.

iv. To have a good working knowledge of other roles and tasks within the team and provide ad hoc support as required including inputting information.

Case types include; Dog Walking, home checks, Short term fostering, long term fostering, pet care, talks and pet profiling

v. To liaise with all other members of The Trust to help maintain a quality service.

vi. To contribute and liaise with the team by helping to update volunteer and owner cases in the course of your communications.

vii. To help maintain filing and filing systems related to your work.

viii. To liaise with all other staff of The Trust in a flexible manner.

ix. To liaise with all Owners and members of the general public in a polite and helpful way.

x. To be familiar with and adhere to procedures and protocols, disciplinary and applicable rules and ensure compliance with legislations (Health and Safety, Data Protection, especially the privacy of members, Owners and volunteers alike).

Impact and Insights Officer

This is a brand new, unique role to be an impact catalyst across both Carlisle and Barnet youth zones, generating support and building towards a ‘culture of impact’ in both organisations such that outcome measurement and impact reporting becomes routine and ‘every day’.

About the Role

You will lead on data analysis and reporting on the data held in Salesforce CRM, improving both the quality and quantity of monitoring and evaluation processes, driving improvements in data capture through training and upskilling the Youth Work team, strengthening the ability of both youth zones to demonstrate the measurable impact of youth work delivered. 

You will also be responsible for measuring and demonstrating both charities’ impact to stakeholders; authoring and providing the necessary data to the leadership and fundraising teams and Board (as required), annual publications such as Trustees Reports and annual Impact Reports. Innovation is a key aspect of this role, involving the introduction and embedding of new methodologies to enhance the qualitative data capture process.

You will collaborate closely with a cross section of teams within the youth zones, working with the Youth Work delivery teams to feed data into decision making, and with the Communications and Fundraising teams to provide impact measurement and analysis content for use with stakeholders and in donor reporting. Furthermore, it will align impact and data work with national and local policy, and use national census, health, police and other statistical data to position both youth zones for new income generation opportunities.

About You

This role is ideal for someone who has the ability to bring technical analysis to life in a youth work setting and can communicate insights in an accessible style to different audiences. The Impact and Insights Officer should be passionate about embracing the power of youth work and be keen to support youth zones in evidencing the impact created with young people. It will require someone who can bring impact expertise and creativity to create buy-in and drive improvements in data capture; and someone who is keen to work flexibly and closely with teams of passionate youth workers and who is unafraid of the challenge presented by Youth Zones in two very different geographic locations.

Job description

We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Senior Development Manager to identify new funding opportunities and develop high quality funding proposals that generate income for CSE’s work in line with CSE’s strategy and objectives. The successful candidate will nurture new and existing partner, client, and funder relationships.

Pay and conditions

• The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week (minimum of 30 hours to be considered for the right candidate).
• The starting salary for the role will be grade H £41,802 - £50,071
• Flexible, hybrid working permitted for this role with a minimum of two to three working days presence in the office expected.

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Work effectively with others to develop funding proposals for CSE projects.
• Lead the response to competitive Invitations to Tender, which require a specific and timely response to a client’s brief and the ability to highlight and sell relevant CSE strengths and expertise.
• Support our development process by giving direction, supervision, and support to all contributing staff.
• Work with delivery teams and colleagues to set project budgets, costing work accurately using CSE’s development and financial tools.
• Ensure effective set up of new projects and facilitate the handover when a project bid has a successful outcome.
• Ensure appropriate quality checks are carried out on all proposals.

About CleanupUK  

We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. Litter-picking brings people closer together, enables neighbours to meet one another other and helps create a greater sense of pride and community in local areas.

Historically, we have delivered litter-picking focussed community engagement projects in London and Birmingham. Our current focus is developing partnerships with community organisations across England to expand our reach and increase impact.

Main duties of the role 

• To provide a pro-active, high-quality administration and support service to the Operational Team, Chief Executive and the Corporate Partnerships team. 

Operational Team: Deals with logistics, processes and day to day functions of our work on the ground with community partners and volunteers. 

• To attend weekly team meetings 

• To assist in research into new areas of operation for the charity. 

• To oversee orders of equipment and printed resources to our partners with various suppliers around the country.

• To maintain meticulous records regarding our growing national Cleanup Hub network of community partners. 

• To collate statistics and create regular reports of programme activity, using our website and new database. 

• To provide help and advice to enquiries that come through our information email inbox. This could include; helping people access their profiles on our website or advising them as to how to get involved in community litter picking activity.

• To use Mail Chimp to send mailers to our partners and followers.

We are looking for an experienced monitoring and evaluation professional with exceptional people skills and a good understanding of nature recovery to help take ANT to our next level of impact by leading on monitoring and evaluation for the Lower Chew Landscape Recovery project.

Job Purpose
Your legacy will be a tangible impact on slowing down climate change, helping nature recover and creating social impact by leading on landowner and stakeholder engagement for the Lower Chew Landscape Recovery project that will see thousands of acres of local land managed in harmony with nature.

You will join a fast-growing organisation that started in 2019 with four volunteers and has grown to a staff team of thirteen (which will double over 2024), over 1,000 volunteers and ownership of 170 acres (soon to be 600 acres) of land that will grow woodlands of over 160,000 trees.

You will also provide light touch impact and knowledge inputs to Avon Needs Trees’ other woodland projects which include two Wiltshire Woodlands, the Great Avon Wood, Ed Woods, and the upcoming Lower Chew Forest.

The project
Landscape Recovery is one of Defra’s three environmental land management schemes. Avon Needs Trees has been awarded development phase funding for Landscape Recovery in the Lower Chew. This is a unique opportunity to help co design nature’s recovery and social impact at a landscape scale.

The project will engage existing landowners and managers across over 867 hectares of land in the Lower Chew, an area where good quality but fragmented woodland provides a basis for woodland connectivity and large-scale woodland creation, as part of a mosaic of grassland and woodland habitat. This locally-cherished landscape of rolling farmland on the edge of Bristol is the strategic setting for delivering local environmental and social priorities.

Main responsibilities
● You will make sure our amazing work in the Lower Chew and beyond creates maximum impact and that this is monitored, available and well communicated.This includes:
      ○ Putting in place monitoring and evaluation plans, systems and tools to monitor our ecological, economic and social impact
      ○ Identifying and highlighting our impact, for example gathering case studies on our human impact
      ○ Working with other team members to ensure our impact is communicated in a clear and concise way
      ○ Making our impact data available quickly and easily
      ○ Increasing our impact by being on top of emerging research, techniques and data to improve what we do
      ○ Dissemination of learning to help other projects
● Leading on a 20-25 year monitoring and evaluation plan for the Lower Chew Landscape Recovery project, whilst contributing to other plans, including:
      ○ Assessing and identifying learning opportunities
      ○ Incorporating baseline data into the monitoring and evaluation plan
      ○ Designing and establishing the monitoring and evaluation plan
      ○ Identifying future monitoring requirements
      ○ Packaging and disseminating learnings
● Work with the wider Avon Needs Trees team to help build a resilient, multi-site charity and undertake any other work necessary to pursue our aims
● As with all Avon Needs Trees roles, contributing to grant writing and fundraising activities
