Role description:

We are seeking a technically excellent management accountant to play a central role in the finance team at this young and vibrant charity, preparing monthly management information to aid business decisions, and undertaking project work as requested.

Main Responsibilities:

Management Accounts preparation

• Account for accrued income and expenditure, including:

           - Accrued legacy income

           - Accrued trust income

          - Other accrued income

          - Accrued grant expenditure

          - Normal accruals and prepayments

• Reconcile all control accounts regularly
• Prepare and post journals as required
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including restricted and unrestricted reserves

Record keeping

• Contribute to the proper maintenance of book keeping records where necessary, to comply with statutory, financial and GDPR regulations
• Assist in gathering documentation for audit, ensuring necessary information is organised and available
• Assist in year-end statutory accounts preparation
• Ensure that all relevant finance processes and systems are adhered to

Other

• Liaise with fundraising team to assist in reconciliation of finance software to fundraising CRM software
• Produce ad-hoc reports as required
• Complete government and other surveys as required
• Represent the Charity in all dealings with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner.
• Champion our code of behaviour and act as a role model, ensuring that our safeguarding and other key policies and procedures are adhered to at all times so as to protect the people we work with and our reputation.

Person Specification:

Knowledge and experience

• Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Experience of management accounts preparation

The Detention Outreach Caseworker is a full-time post on a 12-month renewable contract, joining a small team at the JRS UK offices in Wapping, working closely with the Detention Outreach Manager.

The JRS UK Detention Outreach project supports individuals who are detained in the Heathrow Immigration Removal Centres (Harmondsworth and Colnbrook). This busy and varied role focuses on combining accompaniment, practical support, and assistance to those in immigration detention, especially those who are most vulnerable and struggle to self-advocate. The Detention Outreach Caseworker will make referrals to solicitors and partner organisations where appropriate and liaise with Immigration Services, detention centre staff and others as needed.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will occasionally support individuals who are released from, but continue to be affected by, immigration detention. Through relationships built across the NGO sector, they will refer individuals to local organisations who can most appropriately assist with reintegration into the community. They will provide in-depth and pro-active support to high-need individuals supported in detention who continue to require long-term accompaniment on release.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will be responsible for managing their own caseload and work closely with the Detention Outreach Manager to identify themes and trends arising from immigration detention to contribute to the organisations wider strategic work. The post-holder should have a good understanding of and empathy with the issues and challenges faced by asylum-seekers and refugees, with particular focus on immigration detention. They will need highly developed listening skills, personal resilience and emotional maturity to respond to the emotional and practical needs of asylum seekers, accompanying them and supporting them to positively progress with their lives. They need to have and maintain an up-to-date knowledge about the immigration and asylum context as it relates to our work in immigration detention.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will be enthusiastic about working in a small faith-based organisation and have a willingness to integrate JRS UK’s ethos of accompaniment in their approach whilst also demonstrating sensitivity in responding to the needs of destitute and detained individuals. About the role

We're looking for an efficient, friendly Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our award-winning charity.  The team is based at our busy community centre from where it offers a range of services from community meals, art classes to gardening services and digital support.  We support older and disabled people living in Fulham, London.  Much of our work is delivered by volunteers, so this post is critical to our service delivery. You will recruit, induct, and coordinate volunteers; including leading our Good Neighbours Scheme and Befriending Scheme and supporting the recruitment for all other projects. 

About you: You will have experience of volunteering and in coordinating volunteers or staff, and have strong organisational and communication skills. You will be pro-active and diligent and able to solve problems as they arise. Location: Based across 4 residential services based in Croydon (11 minute walk from East Croydon station) you will need to be able to travel between sites during the night shift to provide full managerial support. Access to own transport is ideal. Please note that unfortunately this service does not have step free access

Salary: £30,200

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, supporting the night team who predominantly work Monday to Sunday 20:00 - 08:00, you will work within these hours, as well as daytime hours to attend trainings and meetings. You will also take part in our out of hours on call rota.

About the role

We're looking for a Deputy Service Manager to join our residential service based in Croydon. You will support the Service Manager to provide leadership and line management to a team of Night Recovery Workers and Night Concierge which totals around 10. You will be present to ensure a quality service is delivered 24 hours a day, working closely with the day teams to ensure quality handovers. 

You will provide general leadership to the team so they feel empowered to be productive and perform well within their roles, supporting a service which focuses on Forensic Mental Health for 27 people across 4 sites in Croydon. The teams support our residents with person centred support to empower them to overcome their personal barriers with their mental health, and have greater independence and fulfilled living. 

Some key responsibilities include:

• Line Management including providing support and guidance, conducting support and supervisions, and ensuring duties are carried out effectively
• Support with the operational delivery of the service
• Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed
• Property and Housing Management; ensuring the accommodation meets our requirements and is safe to live in

About you

We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated individual to lead the service in a trauma informed and inclusive way. You will have knowledge around the Mental Health complexities that residents can face, and have a can-do attitude which can help empower the team to deliver their KPI's. We look for:

• Experience in working with people who have enduring mental health and complex backgrounds
• Ability to motivate and empower a team to achieve KPI's
• Ability to provide advice, guidance, and support to the team on all aspects of service delivery including resident related queries
• Willingness and ability to work flexibly to meet service needs
• IT proficiency - we use various systems so look for someone who can learn and navigate new systems including case management, microsoft, ATS, HR systems, and other types of organisational software
