We're looking for compassionate, reliable and motivated individuals to join our team at Chichester Road is a CQC-registered care home and support residents to live with dignity, independence and wellbeing

As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering hands-on personal care and support to residents, helping them to live safely, comfortably and with dignity.

You will work as part of a supportive team to ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centred care in line with their individual support plans.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing personal care and physical support to residents, including assistance with washing, dressing, mobility and daily living tasks.
  • Supporting residents to maintain their health, wellbeing and independence in a safe care environment.
  • Encouraging and enabling residents to access health, social and personal care services.
  • Supporting residents with day-to-day routines and promoting choice, dignity and respect at all times.
  • Working in line with individual care and support plans that reflect residents’ recovery goals, identity and needs.
  • Observing, recording and reporting changes in residents’ physical or mental health to senior staff.
  • Supporting a clean, safe and welcoming environment in line with CQC standards and organisational policies.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, including Support Workers, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
  • Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of your work.

The service operates on a 24/7 rota basis, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in shifts. Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service.

About You

We are looking for a dedicated, hardworking and compassionate individual who is committed to delivering high standards of care.

You should be able to respond appropriately and calmly to a range of needs within a diverse resident group.

You will also have:

  • A caring, respectful and non-judgemental approach.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliability, flexibility and a willingness to work a 24/7 rota, including sleep-in shifts.
  • An understanding of or interest in supporting people with complex needs, including homelessness, substance misuse and mental health conditions.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, dignity, equality and inclusion.
  • A willingness to learn and undertake training and development.

Previous experience in care is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. We value the right attitude, compassion and commitment to supporting others.
