Floating Support Worker - Mental Health

We are looking for someone to join our Mental Health Floating Support Team as a Floating Support Worker. Working across North and East Bristol you will be joining a team busy developing a ‘Help When You Need It’ approach, providing time limited key working support to clients from 3 months up to a year at a time.
In the role of Floating Support Worker, you will work 9-5 hours Monday Friday; working with clients in the community and in their own homes:
- Manage a case load of around 16 clients, ensuring that each client is provided with person centred support and is empowered to be active in their community, with strong support networks to support ongoing recovery.
- Working with clients to create person centred support plans.
- Providing advice and support to clients so ensure they can access health care to improve mental and physical health; manage their benefits, sustain housing, build a home; and have access work, training and other opportunities.
- Build effective relationships with a variety of internal and external people to ensure clients have access to the support they need.

About you
We are looking for people with excellent communication skills and a keen interest in supporting people to maximise their independence and recovery.
- You will have good organisation and prioritisation skills, able to manage a busy workload while moving clients through our service as quickly and safely as possible.
- You may have a background in housing related support and /or mental health or supporting other social needs, or you are looking for a role you can develop skills learned elsewhere.
- You will have good client engagement skills, and the ability to support vulnerable people through a process of change.
- You will demonstrate a good understanding of the issues faced by people with mental ill health and the difficulties they experience in accessing services that fully meet their needs.
- Above all we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to work with a person-centred approach to support people to transform their lives.
