Night Concierge
Do you have a passion for working with people and the ability to empathise with others?
Working as a Night Concierge, you will provide a first point of contact and safeguarding to clients at night. You will be responsible for dealing with emergencies, undertaking regular health and safety checks on patrols, basic cleaning and through monitoring the CCTV system; you will also report incidents or maintenance issues and communicate any concerns or events to the rest of the team.
Birkenhead Street is a 31-bed hostel. There is also one emergency bed space which is used by the Camden Safer Street team to move people directly off the street. Our main client group is homeless people 19+ (male and female) including rough sleepers, ) with varied support needs. Birkenhead Street is staffed 24/7 with a combination of Project workers, Night workers, Night Concierges and a small Management team.
Shift pattern will be 4 nights on, 4 nights off, 9.30pm-7.30am (10-hour shifts, no break). This will be working alongside a Night Worker.
About you
We are looking for people with good communication skills and an understanding of the issues that affect homeless or vulnerable adults. You will need to be able to interact with clients in a positive and friendly manner, and be passionate about working in a service that supports vulnerable adults. In addition to this;
- You should have a basic level of numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to use your initiative; to identify the appropriate action to take in various situations.
- You’ll also be expected to be punctual, awake and alert at all times during your shift and act with integrity, within our policies and procedures.
You don’t need to have direct experience; above all we are looking for hard-working, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.
