The South London Women’s Hostel is a 24-hour supported accommodation, offering specialist multi-disciplinary gender specific and trauma informed support to women with multiple complex needs. The South London Women’s Hostel sits within the Chrysalis Project to provide support to women who currently or have recently experienced domestic abuse, sexual exploitation, violence against women and girls (VAWG); and/or have multiple disadvantages.

In the role of Project Worker, you will support clients on their journey toward increased independence. You will manage a caseload of residents, helping them develop the skills and confidence required to move on to appropriate longer‑term or independent accommodation. The role focuses on empowering residents to build on their strengths, develop practical life skills, and maintain independence in the community.

Working in this role, your key responsibilities will be to:  

• Work with women to identify their personal aims and ambitions and work towards achieving them.  
• Support clients to access therapeutic services.
• Support financial resilience through access to DWP services, work experience and training.
• Undertake everyday housing management tasks, including health and safety and the clearing of rooms.
• Provide practical and personal support to clients in an approachable, caring and person-centred way.   
• Work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high quality, positive and inclusive service to clients.  
• Complete administrative records relating to client work, housing management and health and safety. 
• Work 12.5hour a day 8am-8.30pm, 3 times a week, rolling rota including weekends and bank holidays.

For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

About you

To thrive in the role of Project Worker you will:

• Be proactive, empathetic and have a flexible approach to your work.
• Have experience of working with vulnerable women is desired, however all candidates must have some experience of working with vulnerable people/ groups. Most importantly you must have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.
