Job description

Are you passionate about early childhood education?Little St Pancras Nursery (Camden) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner Level 2 or 3 to join our vibrant team. 
**Due to the expansion of our nursery, full and part time opportunities are available**

Little St Pancras Nursery is a warm and welcoming early years setting located within the St Pancras Community Association in Camden. Established in September 2017, we are a small, close knit nursery that prides itself on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment. Our focus is on creating a safe, caring, and stimulating space where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and develop essential skills through play-based learning and meaningful interactions.

Role Summary:
To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for all children in the nursery, supporting their individual needs and development. The role also involves contributing to the ongoing growth of the setting by promoting a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment in line with the EYFS framework.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. To work as part of the Nursery team and other Early Years staff effectively deliver the EYFS, ensuring children with additional needs and the interests of the children in the setting are met
  2. To plan, prepare and deliver activities and experiences that promote a safe, stimulating, rich learning environment which recognises children’s learning and development needs
  3. To maintain accurate records of key children, observe, extend and support children's development and learning and to share with parents and carers
  4. To reflect on practice, adapting routines and activities to meet the needs of each child throughout the day
  5. To work with other colleagues to deliver a rich curriculum and diversity of children and families, creating a warm and welcoming environment for all
  6. To work in partnership to develop strong communication with parents/carers to help identify and support children’s learning needs
  7. To follow policy and procedural guidelines to protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns in line with Little St Pancras Nursery
  8. To work alongside the nursery manager and team to ensure children’s learning and development are to a high standard and that SPCA values are always upheld
  9. To work in partnership with the settings Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and other agencies and professionals, e.g. speech and language therapists, Ofsted, volunteers, and Students
  10. To ensure health and safety is to a high standard, hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained

Other Responsibilities

  1. To attend regular supervision and appraisal meeting
  2. To attend training as and when required, as per the requirements of the role
  3. To undertake such general duties as may be necessary from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the Nursery
