Responsible to: Social Switch Project manager

Location: The post will be primarily based at Redthread’s Head Office in Brixton, with some days at Catch 22’s head office and working from home. However, all Redthread team members must have a flexible approach to working on other sites

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. The nature of Redthread’s Social Switch work means that occasional evening and weekend work is required.

Salary: £29.767,50 per annum + benefits

Contract type: 18-month fixed term, with the possibility of extension subject to funding

Purpose of the Post

London's Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has joined forces with Redthread and Catch22 to support young Londoners aged 16-30 to gain skills, qualifications, and employment in the digital and surrounding sectors.

The youth Mentor will be working within local communities to support programme users to progress into apprenticeships, employment, education, and training opportunities.

In this role we are looking for a Youth Mentor to provide tailored career guidance and occasionally deliver facilitated employability workshops to those enrolled on the programme. We want someone who is ready to champion the rights and needs of those facing barriers to work, and is committed to delivering the best they can, for the people on the programme

You will manage a caseload of service users and develop bespoke plans to support these individuals throughout their journey towards progression. It would be beneficial to have an awareness of the digital or technical sectors and/or apprenticeships.

You will immerse yourself in a targeted location and be responsible for engaging a range of referral partners to attract targeted young people onto the programme.

Main Purpose of Job

JOB PURPOSE

To inspire people with mental health conditions to progress, and to gain and sustain paid employment.  Some Employment Specialists will support clients with common (mild to moderate) mental health conditions (e.g. anxiety, depression), whilst others will support clients with more severe and enduring mental illness (e.g. schizophrenia, bipolar, personality disorders).

Depending on what clients are right for you to work with, you will either work across the local NHS primary or secondary care network alongside NHS clinicians to secure client referrals.

To work with clients with more serious mental illness, you will need to be comfortable supporting people who have experienced / are experiencing serious mental health challenges, as well as possibly other serious difficulties in their lives.  Although you will receive full training and support, it’s important you are aware of the potential impact this may have on your own mental wellbeing.

All Employment Specialists will follow the 8 principles of IPS, adhere to the IPS Fidelity Scale and achieve monthly targets and KPIs with the required administration and compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Engage a caseload of clients with mental health problems and establish trusting, collaborative relationships to support them into employment in line with contract targets and IPS fidelity.

2. Assess clients’ employment support needs; implementing and adjusting employment plans as necessary to support each client’s desired outcomes along IPS requirements.

3. Develop and deliver a range of practical services to meet clients’ needs including career guidance, job searching, CV preparation, interview skills, individual coping techniques or work coaching.

4. Build a constant flow of referrals to ensure a dynamic caseload.

5. Conduct weekly employer engagement activity in line with IPS Fidelity.

6. Understand the complex issues a client may face, recognise holistic support needs and work in conjunction with clinical staff.

7. Facilitate access to expert financial advice on welfare benefits and ‘access to work’ resources.

8. Provide support and reasonable adjustments if required, to employed clients to support them to stay and progress in work.

9. As requested, attend clinical team meetings to provide advice and information on employment and IPS.

About this key role

Job Title: Support Worker

Highway House is a charity that has been providing all year round shelter and support services to the homeless for the past 15 years. Our work with the homeless has evolved an adapted from 2009 to date to offer the support most needed at any given time. Highway House received the Faith Recognition Award for providing specialist services by Her Majesty’s Lieutenant at the Royal College of Medicine in November 2017. We have received the best shelter of the year award 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 by the London Prestige Awards.

Summary of role

This post is responsible for ensuring that guests who attend Highway House are in the first instance made welcome. The primary role will be to engage those guests that attend the day centre and guests that are resident in the shelter’s accommodation in developing a pathway of support for them and help them move to the maximum independence they are capable of.  Providing baseline and continuing monitoring of their progress will be required, as will working closely with the project manager.

· Be responsible for receiving guests 2 days a week (7 hours each day) at the day centre

· Initial recording of guests details in database system

· Work with guests to identify their needs

· Research and engage appropriate support for guests

· Develop links with health and welfare agencies to benefit guests

· Support the physical and mental wellbeing of guests

· Visit guests placed in the shelter’s accommodation 1 day a week  (4 hours) to do support work with guests.

· Supervise and inspect state of property and run room checks on weekly visit to the shelter’s accommodation.

Refuge workers will provide safety planning, support, advice, and assistance to children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and are staying in the refuge. Additionally, you will establish and maintain links with statutory and voluntary agencies; to promote and support the welfare of families who have experienced domestic abuse. Form and maintain relationships with local specialist domestic abuse services, and finally, ensure that child welfare is ensured in accordance with Stop Domestic Abuse’s Protection from Abuse Policy.

This role includes the opportunity to be on call out of office hours as this is a 24-hour, 7 day a week service running outside of usual service hours.  The on-call out of hours service may involve the following duties and responsibilities, this is not an exhaustive list and is subject to change to ensure contract and service delivery requirements are met by the organisation and to provide a high-quality service to people affected by domestic abuse. Stop Domestic Abuse is committed to running a 24-hour service to people affected by domestic abuse that is accessible, supportive and welcoming.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will lead by example, be the day-to-day expert within the team and be a positive role model to the team of caseworkers, escalating any concerns to the Team Leader or Service Manager as required.  Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, we will rely on you to provide support, advice and advocacy for young people and their families regarding accommodation, and to produce support and risk management plans based on assessments, while also delivering a holistic support service that will include practical help such as social and housing support, ETE options, benefits work, debt advice, liaising with utilities, appearing in court, and cleaning.

We will also rely on you to ensure, on a daily basis, that all monitoring information and evidence is being recorded and collated in line with agreed processes, that you contribute to the services’ out of hours rota as required, plus work closely with the Team Leader and Service Manager to ensure the team can work effectively e.g. identifying training opportunities and peer-supervision.

What we are looking for

• Proven experience of engaging positively with vulnerable young people or other vulnerable groups with understanding and knowledge of relevant policies and legislation
• Experience of using support plans to enable young people to successfully access and sustain accommodation and support services
• Substantial experience of providing support, advice and advocacy 
• Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team, working together to achieve positive outcomes for young people and establishing links to further the aims of a project
• Substantial experience of assessing risk and implementing safety procedures when thinking about young people involved in or at risk of violence or exploitation
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written 
• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work

We are recruiting for an experienced Employment and Transition Mentor to work closely with Autistic/neurodivergent individuals aged 16 to 25 residing in the Bromley borough, to enable skills which will assist them in overcoming barriers to employment and achieving their vocational goals.

This role involves assessment, guidance, and advocacy to ensure that each student reaches their maximum potential. 

In partnership with the London Borough of Bromley, this new unique role has been developed as part of an exciting pilot project funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to support autistic/neurodivergent students to transition from school into further training or permanent paid employment. 

The successful candidate will provide training and workshops to participants and their support networks to enhance understanding and coping skills. In addition, the role will be required to provide training for other stakeholders (employers and other organisations) to raise awareness and ensure they understand the needs of the participants. 

Main Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of participants to help them take the steps they need to gain employment. This can include CV writing, interview practice, work experience, apprenticeships, college and/or other vocational courses, paid employment opportunities.
• Work closely with local employers and engage them in signing up to the Employability programme  
• Act as main liaison between participants and professionals working with the participant to ensure that reasonable adjustments are made to enable success
• Provide information and signposting & collaboration opportunities to participants.
• Work closely with participants to identify and address their employability and reasonable adjustment needs
• Provide emotional and practical support.
• Empower students and families to ensure their views inform decision making and support.

Clinical Psychologist

Parenting and Creative Therapy Service

Contract: Permanent, 21 hours per week

0.6 WTE, 3 days per week - location: Coram campus, London

Coram Parenting and Creative Therapy Service offers art, music and drama therapy, therapeutic

parenting, clinical psychology and family therapy to children and families at our dedicated creative

therapies centre, in schools, and at home (online). We work primarily with adoptive and connected

carer families, and children who have low level mental health difficulties. We are a trauma-informed

service, and are developing Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) approaches in our work and

have specialist expertise in neuro-diversity and children with special education needs. The well

established team has a strong track record in therapeutic interventions, including music therapy and

narrative therapy based multi-family groups for younger children who are adopted or with a Special

Guardianship Order. We are developing partnerships with universities - Newcastle University and

The Institute of Contemporary Music and Performance and are piloting research based creative

therapy interventions. We work within very diverse communities and we consciously challenge

ourselves and our practice , seeking at all times to be inclusive and anti-racist. We welcome

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to provide therapeutic multi-disciplinary assessments

and interventions in our work with adopted and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) families. This

work involves trauma informed approaches, using DDP, narrative, family and life story work. The

team is led by a Clinical Psychologist who will provide supervision for this role. The team provides

creative, relational, and evidence based approaches collaborating with wider networks and reaching

schools and communities to inform child centred and trauma informed practice. The post offers a

unique opportunity to work alongside skilled creative and family therapists. We seek to empower

children and families using strengths based narratives, as well as accepting vulnerability and seeking

opportunity for connection, strengthening resilience and support.

The successful candidate will be a clinical psychologist that is skilled and experienced in working with

developmental trauma, and child and family work and operate with initiative and responsiveness in

a dynamic professional environment. A background in CAMHS and/or a social care services would

be desirable. Experience of running multi-family groups would be an advantage. They will be a

supportive professional, a team player and enjoy working in a diverse, respectful and challenging

team.

The Marylebone Project is one of the UK’s largest providers of support services to women experiencing homelessness. The women we support have multiple disadvantages and require dedicated services like us to provide them with the right help to get back on their feet. Our purpose is to empower those we work with to take the steps they have identified are needed to achieve their goals. We do this by being person-centred with support and creating a Psychologically informed environment that encourages recovery.

The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity within the Project, your role will be based within our newly refurbished Centre where you will manage a caseload of service users who may have complex needs and challenging behaviour. You will provide Advice, Guidance and information (IAG) to vulnerable adults and holistic support to address their needs within a psychologically informed environment and will provide specialist VAWG support.

Part of your role will also include Coordinating and facilitating our Drop-in Service for rough sleepers, providing them with a range of services including food provision; laundry; showers; clothing and nurses clinics.

Salary

£31,927 per annum

Hours

Average 40 hours a week on a five-week rota. Normal working pattern will be working across early and late shifts & working two weekends. Working hours and rotas are subject to change by the organisation as required, based on operational/service need, though we try not to do this frequently. Some flexibility in working hours is expected.

Pension

The employee will be enrolled into a pension scheme providing the post holder meets the criteria for eligibility. Minimum pension contributions will be paid by the employer for you if you are eligible.

Annual Leave

28 days, including bank holidays, rising by one day a year to a maximum of 33 days after each full year’s service. As the project works on a 24/7 basis, you will be required to work some bank holidays, including Christmas and New Yea
