About this key role
As our Accommodation Adviser, you will complete an Initial Needs Assessment (INA) with each service user using a strength-based approached within agreed contractual timeframes, before assessing need and risk, alert to changes that could indicate change in risk or serious harm, including personal safety and safeguarding.
You will contribute to the design and delivery of an effective and solution-focused accommodation plan and advise and support service users to achieve successful outcomes utilising your specialist housing knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of accommodation and local service provision. You will also be expected to maintain and build new relationships with social and private housing providers and within the criminal justice sector, voluntary and statutory agencies. Monitoring progress and recording on digital systems is also a key duty.

- Relevant housing qualification or extensive experience
- Strong experience of working as a key part of a high-performing team
- Experience of using digital technology and of providing evidence for external audit purposes
- Knowledge of the main issues affecting homelessness and rehabilitation of offenders
- A sound understanding of how staff with lived experience can provide additional value
- Outstanding interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written
- A collaborative, flexible and professional approach to your work.

Basis is looking to appoint a Group Facilitator who can provide appropriate emotional and practical support to women in the sex industry and/or those who are being sexually exploited through group support sessions. The women we support all experience stigma; some may also have (recent or current) experience of poor mental and physical health, substance abuse, homelessness and sexual or other forms of abuse and/or substance abuse). You will be responsible for facilitating themed groups focusing on practical and emotional support as well as developing peer support and influencing mechanisms working in partnership with other partners in Leeds.

About the role:
You will be driven to make a difference every day with the ability to focus on the needs of vulnerable service users. Homicide Service training includes, criminal justice process; trauma informed approach to support; supporting traumatically bereaved families; personal and professional resilience.
As a fully trained Homicide Family Caseworker you will be responsible for managing your own complex caseload to the highest quality standards.
You will need to be able to travel to home visits within, and occasionally outside of area, and therefore a driving license and use of a car are essential. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

About this pivotal role
Have you worked with socially excluded or challenging young people and other vulnerable groups? Do you have personal experience of gangs, knife crime or the other issues they face? Are you able to provide 1:1 mentoring support? Then join us as an Education Inclusion Mentor.
Working as an Education Welfare and Inclusion Mentor you will have relevant experience of successfully engaging and working with children and young people in an inclusive, relational and restorative capacity to secure positive outcomes. You will understand of the needs of vulnerable children and young people, the communities they live in and of how disadvantage can impact on learning and life chances. As part of the team delivering this exciting new intervention, you will need to demonstrate that you have the ability to work flexibly, and at pace to meet appropriate deadlines with independence and be enthusiastic about working with a wide range of professional partners to bring about whole system change.
What we are looking for:
Our successful candidate will be embedded in a secondary school offering intensive one-to-one mentoring to young people who have been identified by their education setting as needing targeted support.
You will work closely with the education setting to prioritise safeguarding and contribute to a shared aim of reducing exclusions, reduce risky behaviour and raise aspirations.
To secure this role:
- You must have a proven track record of engaging positively with young people, young offenders or other vulnerable groups, plus providing support, advocacy, and the ability to assess clients’ needs.
- Want to work in an embedded setting in schools.
- Be able to establish positive and professional relationships with the children, young people, and professionals.
- Be able to build trust and create a safe space for children and young people in which to explore challenging and potentially traumatic issues and topics.
- Have experience of providing 1:1 mentoring to young people.
- Be able to assist with providing monitoring information and the evaluation of the project.
- Be able to represent the organisation externally as required. This includes the ability to embed yourself and work collaboratively with the partner schools and adapting to their culture.
