You will lead a two-year project contributing to the work of the No Wrong Door partnership – local organisations and local residents working together to ensure there is ‘No Wrong Door’ for Black Disabled people seeking employment, as they can expect excellent support from any organisation.
We want to change the system, influencing employment support providers and their Commissioners to ensure support for Black Disabled people who are seeking employment is appropriate, accessible and inclusive.

Your role will involve working primarily with Black Disabled Lambeth residents. We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Foston Hall (subject to contract award). Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy programme at HMP Foston Hall, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison-based. About the role
This tole is based in Cumbria. Turning the Spotlight is a busy service supporting families experiencing domestic abuse including perpetrators. You will manage case workers and facilitators in our dedicated healthy relationships programme.
As a Team Leader you will:
- provide leadership, advice and guidance to your team
- monitor the progress & quality of support delivered to service users
- develop your team, addressing any individual development/performance needs, setting both individual & team objectives & undertaking annual appraisals

The Refugee & Migrant Services Caseworker will join the Refugee & Migrant Services Support Team, who work alongside our ESOL team and volunteers to meet clients’ needs as directed by the R&MS Team Leader. The post is based at our offices in Bedford but will involve some local travel to deliver support and home appointments. Our team deliver a number of services, including:
- Welcoming and providing holistic integration support to resettled refugee families, empowering them to live independently with less support as time goes on.
- Providing vulnerable migrants with high quality information and advice, empowering them to make well-informed choices.
- Providing supported accommodation for people who have been refused asylum.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Building trust and maintaining positive working relationships with all clients, external agencies and other areas of KAP.
- Systematic recording of all notes and actions related to client support, maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and support plans using our case management system.
- Fulfilling funders’ & commissioners’ reporting requirements; generating statistics, case studies and keeping detailed records.
- Meeting resettled families at the airport and bringing them to their new homes.
- Ensuring clients understand their rights and responsibilities regarding their accommodation, supporting them to fulfil these.
- Supporting clients through advocacy to access; health & wellbeing services, welfare benefits, housing, immigration advice, community events, education, training, volunteering and paid work.
- Assisting resettled families’ children to access education and ensuring appropriate support is in place for them.
- Provide advice and support to resettled families through home appointments in Bedfordshire.

About the role:
This role is based in Rochdale Police station along with some hybrid working, you must be prepared to deliver and facilitate recognised support and behaviour change programmes to perpetrators of domestic abuse (DA) and those at risk of becoming perpetrators. You will need:
- An understanding of domestic abuse & stalking & it's impact

- Empathy & ability to support service users thorugh advisory, negotiation & persuasive skills
- Experience of working directly with perpetrators of domestic abuse
- Knowledge of effective ways of working/engaging with perpetrators of domestic abuse
- Good interpersonal skills, able to network & develop strong working relationships with other agencies
- A background in Probation, Homelessness or the Police would be advantageous

· Offer coaching guidance to empower individuals, helping them to achieve the appropriate next steps
· Work in conjunction with the Volunteer Development Manager to recruit, train and manage volunteers who assist in delivering support services
· Lead on aspects of cross team projects and develop new resources that meet our community’s needs, while collaborating with other teams and external partners
· Identify gaps in knowledge across the Support Team and identify possible training areas
· Develop information for our website and other resources, for example, writing initial drafts and reviewing information
· Plan and facilitate online and in person events for the brain tumour community, including online meet ups for young adults
· Day to day management of our online peer support

· Update and maintain accurate contact information on the CRM database, producing data reports as required to evidence the impact and reach of our support services

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. We are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach. As a Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant, you will provide high quality practical and emotional support to potential victims of modern slavery within a safehouse setting.
You will work as a member of the team providing a safe temporary environment for vulnerable adults who have experienced trauma and exploitation. The role will involve assisting service users with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.
This service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly, which will include on call duties, evenings, weekends and bank. Both roles will work between two properties approx. 4 miles apart on a Rota basis. A full induction and continuous training will be given.
The 30 hour per week post will be shifts from 4pm-10pm, 5 days per week, however, the initial induction will consist of day shifts until knowledge of safe house is comprehensive.
You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and ideally experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens. Relevant social care qualifications or suitable experience of supporting vulnerable people is essential.
