JOB PURPOSE:
This Role Turns Data Into Action for Community Impact
At Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C., every donor interaction, contribution, and campaign generates valuable insight. The Data and Donor Relations Officer ensures that donor information is accurate, secure, and effectively used to build strong relationships, improve engagement, and guide fundraising strategy. You will be the guardian of donor data and the connector between insight and action, ensuring that each supporter feels valued and informed while maintaining ethical and safeguarding standards.
This is not a generic admin role. It is strategic, detail-focused and high-impact, central to the C.I.C’s long-term sustainability.
Purpose of the Role
This role exists to:
- Maintain and manage donor databases with accuracy and security
- Track donor engagement, contributions, and interactions
- Analyse donor behaviour and generate insights to inform campaigns and communications
- Support the Fundraising Director and Communication Specialists with data-driven strategies
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, and CIC policies
- Provide reporting on donor activity, trends, and retention strategies

Experience Qualification and Requirements

- Experience managing donor databases or CRM systems (e.g., CiviCRM, Salesforce, Donorbox).
- Competence in data entry, tracking, and ensuring data accuracy.
- Experience analysing fundraising or donor engagement data.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Airtable, or donor management software.
- Knowledge of GDPR, data protection principles, and ethical data handling.
- Experience in non-profit donor relations, fundraising support, or CRM administration.

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all donors, sponsors, and stakeholders across the organisation’s donor management systems or CRM platforms.
- Monitor and track contributions, engagement metrics, and fundraising activities to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Generate regular reports for leadership, highlighting trends in donor retention, engagement, campaign performance, and income streams.
- Support segmentation and targeting of donors and supporters for personalised outreach and engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Content and Donor Communication Specialists to personalise messaging based on donor data and behaviour.
- Ensure all personal, financial, and sensitive donor data is handled ethically and securely in line with GDPR, data protection laws, and organisational safeguarding policies
- Analyse donor behaviour, giving patterns, and campaign results to provide actionable recommendations for improving donor experience and engagement.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships with donors and sponsors, including stewardship, recognition, and follow-up communications.
- Maintain and improve data management systems, processes, and documentation to support efficient operations and reporting.
- Liaise with fundraising, membership, and digital teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of donor data across platforms.
- Flag data quality issues or system gaps and recommend solutions to leadership.
- Contribute to planning for scaling donor management systems as the CIC grows.
- Support the development of dashboards, analytics tools, or visualisations to improve understanding and accessibility of donor data.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in donor management, data protection, and CRM system use within charitable organisations.

Who are LRMN?
We offer refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants a specialist and holistic service. We advocate for people’s rights, campaign for wider change, meet their basic needs and help them improve their wellbeing.
Why do we need you?
Triage volunteers are an essential part of our team, making sure that clients are able to access the right service. You will deal with initial client enquiries (in person, over the phone or by email), assess what support clients need and help the access the right service for them. This might be with us, a partner or another external service.
Our triage team is integral to the smooth running of LRMN. Without them our advisors wouldn’t be able to provide life changing support to the people who access our services.
Our triage team are the first people that clients will talk to so it is essential that we offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space and give them the right information about the services we offer. Given the demand that we face, volunteers help us do that.
What activities will you be involved in?
As part of our triage team, you will volunteer alongside staff and fellow volunteers to:
• Welcome clients to our office/Migrant Hub and speak to them about their needs
• Help clients and referrers understand the services we offer and how to access them
• Respond to new referrals and upload them onto our case management system
• Contact clients to book in appointments and follow up referrals
• Take on other administrative tasks as identified from time to time
As you become more experienced, you may be involved in giving basic advice, providing support letters and other duties.
Our triage volunteers are based at our Migrant Hub drop-in service (in Woolwich on Tuesdays)
You will be supervised by the Business and Operations Manager and/or Migrant Hub Coordinator but will liaise with staff across the organisation as appropriate.

Key Tasks and Objectives

Founded in 1997, the Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants provides a place for refugees, migrants, and people seeking asylum to rebuild their life with support and community. From classes to casework to financial assistance, the Centre has a wide offering available for our community of over 200 people. Our approach is compassionate and human and the support we offer is long term - on average people stay with us around four years.
The current Board brings a wide range of charity and public body experience including strategy and fundraising and we are looking for skills to both enhance and complement these strengths.
The Centre has a dedicated and talented staff team led by our CEO, Andy Ruiz Palma, who joined in 2000 as an English teacher. In addition to this staff resource we have around 40 volunteers who provide direct support through activities. We also have in place accountancy support to the executive and a dedicated fundraising team.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a strong empathy with our client group and who understand how to work with organisations rooted in a local community. You will bring excellent people and communication skills and demonstrate good team-working.
We are open to applications from people looking for their first Trustee role or who may not have considered being a Trustee before and will provide mentoring to help trustees find their feet.
