The Opportunity: Super Pollutants and Health Research Lead (initial 6-month contract)

Are you a talented, internationally-focused research leader with experience working on health and climate and with an interest in super pollutants? 
 
Clean Air Fund is looking for a politically savvy, proficient research programme lead and grant manager to join its super pollutants team, initially for six months, to play an integral part in a major funding proposal. Should the funding proposal be successful there will be an opportunity for a contract extension to play a critical role in implementing an ambitious research agenda. This is a fascinating opportunity for a dynamic research leader with a strong scientific background and sophisticated communication skills to join a talented team working at the nexus of climate and health. 
 
We want someone who can bring presence, initiative and relevant research management experience to our proposal development, our grant-making, and our advocacy for action on super pollutants with governments and international bodies. 
 
We are looking for someone who can start almost immediately. 

Essential Technical Competencies include:

PhD or equivalent expertise in environmental epidemiology, health research, biomedical sciences, public health, environmental science, or a related discipline. 

Demonstrated contributions to the research community through peer-reviewed publications, open datasets, policy briefs, clinical or commercial tools, or conference presentations. An Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) is required. 

Strong understanding of the science-policy interface in air pollution and climate mitigation.

Run by charity EMERGE 3Rs, FareShare Greater Manchester (FSGM) is a major food re-distribution charity in the city-region, fighting food poverty and hunger and tackling food waste.We are excited to add a new Driver/Warehouse Operative to our team to help us run our Surplus with Purpose scheme, as well as to support our normal daily operations. 

A typical day will include carrying out the daily van safety check, collecting your order lists from the Food Allocations team and then picking the fruit & veg for each order, which will be between 400kgs and 800kgs.   After safely building the pallets, you'll load them onto the van and then unload at the Community Food Members' (CFMs) site.  You'll collect their empty trays and return them to our Warehouse, perhaps stopping to refuel on the way, where you'll take on Warehouse duties as required e.g. picking orders, cleaning, goods-in, stock rotation etc.

You are the face of FSGM to our CFMs so you'll need top notch customer service skills, excellent communication skills and a commitment to working in a culturally sensitive way.  It's a physical job so you can comfortably lift up to 25kg at a time repeatedly and throughout the day.  For insurance purposes, you need to be at least 25 years' old, with experience of safely driving commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. If you have a licence for driving larger vehicles (up to 7.5 tonnes), even better.  The salary offered will reflect the driver qualification you have.

JOB PURPOSE:
 

• To coordinate support for children aged 2-5 with SEND at Springfield Park Road Nursery, working alongside nursery staff, parents and outside agencies to ensure the nursery provides high quality inclusive EYFS provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS Framework.

·        To promote an ethos of inclusive practice within the nursery, high expectations for children with SEND and the best possible outcomes.

• To provide advice and support to Children’s Centre colleagues in relation to SEND.
• To provide advice and support to other staff within the Springfield Project in relation to SEND, including Seedlings Stay and Play. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

Lead the SEND provision for the nursery

·        Work with the nursery manager to regularly review the SEND policy and practice within the setting and agree how it will be implemented. 

·        Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the setting’s SEND policy, and for coordinating provision across the setting.

·        Implement SEN support and the graduated approach of: assess, plan, do, review to meet the outcomes identified for the child, including writing and reviewing SEN support plans as well as statutory paperwork, such as EHC needs assessment requests (with support from Area SENCO).

·        Apply for ISEY funding for individual children and ensure funding is implemented to support children effectively.

Support colleagues 

·        Ensure all practitioners in the setting understand: 

o   their responsibilities to children with SEN

o   how to work actively and effectively within the Assess Plan Do Review cycle.

·        Support individual practitioners in implementing the approach for individual children 

·        Identify and use training and other sources of support available to colleagues. 

·        Support the nursery manager and staff during inspections by regulatory bodies and assist in the implementation of any recommendations.

Partnership working

·        Make sure parents receive the information, advice and support that they need in order to participate in the SEN decision-making process.

·       Involve parents in the discussion of any early concerns, in identifying any SEN, and at all stages of the graduated approach. 

·        Ensure parents are closely involved and that their insights inform action taken by the setting. 

·        Work closely with the Area SENCO and other professionals from education, health and social care agencies as required, making referrals as needed.

·        Understand the Birmingham local offer.

·        Work alongside Springfield Children’s Centre in running a stay & play for children with SEND

·        Provide advice on SEND to Children’s Centre colleagues.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, Social Care professional to join our Health & Wellbeing team on a 12 month Fixed Term contract.

Your role will be to understand the unique and often complex growing needs of our beneficiaries and to provide advice, advocacy and support to empower them to access the health and social care services they need. You will lead on hospital discharge planning and rehabilitation and support to access social care, so must be proficient in these key areas with recent experience. You will also lead on supporting Personal Independence Payments (PIP) applications and while we welcome experience in this area, full training will be given. You will contribute to the development and delivery of the Trust’s health and wellbeing services, and you will be an important part of the successful delivery of the annual programme of Holistic Needs Assessments (HNAs), carried out in beneficiaries’ homes.

Skills & Abilities

To succeed in this busy but highly rewarding role, you will:

• Be a good listener with excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible approach 
• Possess excellent knowledge of current social care referral, assessment and funding processes and the interface between health and social care – particularly in respect of hospital discharge planning and support
• Already have a good practical knowledge of the UK benefits system, particularly PIP
• Have experience of undertaking needs assessments (including in people’s own homes)
• Have a track record of working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Be comfortable working without clearly defined protocols and have creative problem-solving skills and a solutions-focussed approach
• Be sensitive, empathetic and non- judgemental and
• Have excellent organisational skills and an ability to work autonomously and prioritise a busy workload.

The role is full time (5 days a week – Monday to Friday).  However, 4 days a week will be considered (Friday must be a working day).   There is the opportunity to work either from the Trust’s office in St Neots, Cambridgeshire or home (within 45 miles/1 hour from St Neots) but there will be the requirement to attend regular team meetings in St Neots and regular travel to visit beneficiaries across the UK, with the possibility of overseas travel.

About the role

Alumni Relations

• Provide logistical support for overseas trips and other visits undertaken by Development staff.
• Take minutes for meetings of the Campaign Board, Development Committee, Alumni Advisory Board, and other groups.

Internal collaboration

• Work collaboratively with the wider team and colleagues across Pembroke, supporting work outside your functional area where necessary.
• Support fundraising colleagues with regular giving activities including telethons and mailings.
• Provide general support and assistance to the team, particularly for event administration and donor stewardship.
• Attend events as required and assist the Senior Alumni Relations Officer to ensure they are successfully delivered.
• Co-ordinate stationery and office supplies including fundraising and alumni relations materials.
• Collect and deliver post to the Porters’ Lodge.
• To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required by the Development Director, which may include travel and event attendance outside standard working hours.

Bromley Recovery and Wellbeing College (BRWC) runs a curriculum of free peer and professional-led workshops and courses across the borough of Bromley. Our aim is to enable students to achieve greater insight into their own mental wellbeing and gain skills to help them achieve personal goals, independence and self-management of their own mental health.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bromley Recovery and Wellbeing College Manager to join SEL Mind on a one year fixed-term basis. You will be a strategic planner, responsible for reviewing, implementing and managing the significant development of Bromley’s Recovery and Wellbeing College (BRWC)  You will design and oversee the delivery of quality-assured courses in response to wider local need, providing equity in opportunities and lead on delivering a successful shared vision for the BRWC. The role comes with line management responsibility for a BRWC Coordinator and an administrator, ensuring operational support for the day to day delivery and efficient running of the college as well as support for tutors and students.

You will work closely alongside SEL Mind colleagues as well as our Bromley Mental Health Hub partners Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.  You will also use strong partnership working skills to collaborate with stakeholders across the borough.

You will have experience of successfully delivering learning to others and of line management in a busy, fast paced environment. A strategic, proactive approach to problem solving and planning as well as excellent organisational skills are a must. Confidence to communicate effectively with a wide range of people is also required.

Are you a creative and digitally savvy communicator with a passion for meaningful work? Join the National Safeguarding Team as our new Digital Officer and play a pivotal role in promoting awareness, engagement, and best practices across a range of safeguarding initiatives.

As Digital Officer, you'll support the Communications Manager in delivering outreach campaigns, producing high-quality multimedia content, and shaping digital strategies that drive impact and engagement. You'll contribute to both ongoing communications efforts and upcoming campaigns, ensuring our safeguarding messages are delivered with clarity, sensitivity, and reach.

• Develop and deliver compelling digital content across web, social media, print, and video platforms.
• Support safeguarding communications initiatives with creative input and timely execution.
• Act as a digital imaging expert-offering training, managing content workflows, and ensuring quality control.
• Coordinate and deliver digital content projects in line with organisational goals and engagement strategies.
• Ensure all digital material complies with accessibility, copyright, and data management requirements.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues to maintain and optimise multimedia tools and equipment.

• A basic DBS check will be required as part of our pre-employment checks.
• This is a hybrid role with the expectation to work from the office location 1-3 days per week.

What We're Looking For

• A proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong digital content creation skills.
• Experience in web content management, graphic design, or multimedia production.

You will need to be/have:

• A salary of £40,572 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

We are seeking a Governance Support officer

The Church of England is continually striving to improve its safeguarding practices. The 2020 report by IICSA on the Church highlighted failures in respect of child sexual abuse and, more broadly, the challenges facing the Church to get safeguarding right.

The Church's aspiration is that safeguarding is not experienced and approached as a matter of administrative compliance. Rather, it should be what the Church is - something that flows from its core beliefs and values, part of its DNA.

The Church has made important and positive strides over recent years. There is, however, still much to be done to keep children and vulnerable adults safe, and to promote their well-being. The Church is a complex collection of different bodies. Most of the safeguarding work is carried out locally within the 42 dioceses and cathedrals in England. This work is supported centrally by a National Safeguarding Team (NST).

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support NSP meetings and events, including agenda-setting, minutes, and follow-up actions.
• Manage financial processes (e.g., invoices, honoraria), budget administration, and supplier setup.
• Develop and maintain systems for data, decision-tracking, and confidentiality
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders through newsletters, SharePoint, and inbox management.
• Support recruitment, induction, and governance arrangements including working groups.
• Ensure consistency and alignment across safeguarding teams and National Church Institutions.

Key role requirements

• This is a part-time role and you will be required to work 14 hours per week.
• A basic DBS check will be required as part of our pre-employment checks.

We are looking for someone with:

• Proven ability to handle sensitive communications with tact and professionalism.
• Excellent digital literacy, confident across Microsoft 365 and a variety of web-based tools such as web-based applications (such as Asana, Zoom, SmartSurvey) and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Able to build and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, including those who are survivors of abuse.
• Highly competent minute/note taker.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Experience in triaging and responding to communications of a sensitive nature.
• Strong administrative and organisational experience, ideally within a national team.

Salary: £25,500 - £28,000 + benefits (including paid travel when working out of London)

Location: Will be working in shopping centres, train stations and other locations throughout London and surrounding areas (ideally, candidates should be based within London or the surrounding area)

• Strong resilience to handle negative objections

• Experience in a fundraising role will be beneficial but is not essential.
