The Service Desk Analyst is a key role within the Technology function, acting as the first and second line of support for end users across the organisation. The role is focused on delivering a high quality, customer centric support service aligned to ITIL best practice, ensuring incidents and service requests are resolved efficiently, within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and with minimal disruption to business services.

The post holder will play an active part in incident, request, problem and change enablement processes, working collaboratively with internal teams and third party suppliers to restore service quickly, prevent recurrence of issues, and continually improve the end user experience.

The IT Department now executes a mixture of Azure Cloud and 3rd party outsourced IT services, in an entirely new and modern IT infrastructure that utilises the latest technologies. The IT function serves 900 staff in the National Church Institution co-located bodies and aims to adopt common solutions across the NCIs where practical. IT provides a broad range of customer focused IT services such as technical architecture and support, networks, change management, business analysis, project management, Training, Procurement, systems administration and applications hosting.

Purpose of the role

​The Business Analyst will play a key role in improving our organisational efficiency, strengthening our data and reporting infrastructure, and supporting the growth and sustainability of our services. Working across teams, the postholder will analyse and streamline processes, enhance data capture and reporting, and support the integration and improvement of our core systems (CRM, Finance, and operational tools). About the role:  

The Data Analyst (Geo-Spatial) is a key position in the Monitoring & Evaluation team and works closely with the wider Programmes Team to support the process of collecting, analysing, managing and storing high quality data.

The position is pivotal in the development and implementation of a new digital Information Management System (IMS) for the organisation’s Monitoring and Evaluation data. This involves working in partnership with a range of both internal and external stakeholders. 

The position will play a key role in turning geospatial evidence into insight for programme quality, landscape impact and carbon integrity. 

Main duties:  

• Lead on the analysing and interpretation of geo-spatial data across the organisation using a range of GIS, remote sensing and spatial analysis tools to support monitoring, evaluation and learning 

• Produce spatial analyses and maps to assess restoration, tree cover, land use and ecosystem change over time at project and landscape scale 

• Develop, maintain and manage online dashboards and visual analytics products to support programme management, learning and decision-making 

• Working with external developers, design and maintain digital data collection tools and workflows, covering data capture, aggregation, analysis and visualisation for project indicators and organisational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 

• Develop and maintain the organisational M&E geospatial database, focusing on areas of land benefiting from restoration activities, including tree planting, tree survival, landscape regeneration, and agroforestry systems

About the role

The Data Analyst works within the Data Team, using and transforming data from multiple sources to produce high quality, digestible reports, dashboards, and bespoke pieces of analysis for our fundraising and alumni colleagues.  You will also lead on any benchmarking projects, both the submission of data and the interpretation and presentation of their findings.  Being a clear communicator of often complex information, you will deliver insight into the performance of our various fundraising and engagement programmes, giving colleagues the information they need to continually innovate and improve.

In addition, you will have a raft of technical skills and approaches that will enable you to efficiently transform source data from multiple data sources ready for import into our Dynamics CRM system.

You will be keen to learn and develop, embracing new technologies and ways of working, and will work with the Data Team and others across the department to improve the quality of the underlying data we all rely on.  You will also work closely with others in the team, IT colleagues and other users across the organisation to shape future CRM features.

You will be required to liaise and work collaboratively with other teams on new fundraising projects and initiatives, thereby ensuring a joined-up approach, that future reporting requirements can be met, with learning shared and insight retained.  You will often need to manage multiple requests and prioritise your workload, albeit we have adopted an Agile approach to development.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

P&A has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office. Typically, this equates to two days per week, but we’re very happy for colleagues to be in more frequently if they so wish.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1. Knowledge of data insight, analysis and reporting techniques.

2. Significant experience of working with a fundraising or marketing CRM in a technical, database management or report writing capacity.

Purpose of Role

As a Senior Fundraising Analyst you play a leading role in supporting the charity’s fundraising growth objectives through data analysis, supporter segmentation, and insight generation.

Working within the central Data & Technology Directorate you will work closely with the Fundraising Directorate to optimise fundraising strategies and enhance understanding of supporter demographics.
