My client, a leading Not-for-Profit organisation is seeking an interim Finance Manager to assist the Finance Director through their year-end close.

The main responsibilities of the interim Finance Manager are:

• Manage the month-end process
• Assist the Finance Director with the completion of the annual accounts
• Ensuring that financial controls are adhered to and reporting any issues or non-compliance
• Routine month-end activities including reporting, journals, accruals, prepayments and dealing with relevant queries

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs Accounts Payable function; processes transactions in the accounting system and maintains accounts payable files for vendors. Primary point of contact for questions and assistance regarding entry and payment of invoices.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

· Subject matter expert on Unit 4 ERP System Vendor Master File and accounts payable, provide support to other Internews staff also entering invoices.

· Prepare and enter multi-currency invoices for all payment methods (Barclays wire Transfers, ACH, check, FX, Western Union, etc.), including review for proper coding and approvals.

· Review and research open payables to resolve outstanding issues prior to payment.

· Process recurring remittances according to corporate schedule, including payment of invoices entered by others.

· Processing payments and Provide payment confirmations to appropriate parties as necessary.

· Maintain AP vendor master records in accounting system.

· Organize and maintain A/P files.

· Research vendor payment history in response to queries from Internews staff and others.

· Cross trained as backup staff to other department functions, including PSC payment processing and expense reimbursements and AP mailbox cover.

· Support of commitment accounting and purchase order monitoring

· Maintain Asset Register incl Additions and Disposal, Monthly Depreciation calculation and posting the journals into the accounting system.

· Balance Sheet Reconciliations including Payroll and Bank Reconciliations before month-end close.

· Debtor and Creditor reconciliations and Advances (Cards) before month-end close

· Processing and posting Prepayments before month-end close.

· Income & Expenditure Recording in the accounting system

· Proving support during Statutory and Donor Audits

· Fixed Asset Management.

· Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to upholding Internews Core Values.

Qualifications:

· 3+ years progressively complex accounting experience

The Opportunity

This role sits within our Evaluation unit in our Impact Partnerships team, who work with education organisations such as charities, universities and education technology companies (our ‘impact partners’). Our work focuses on helping these organisations to design and deliver evaluations, and to build their capacity for impact evaluation.

We are looking for a candidate who can support the team internally with a variety of delivery and administrative processes, working directly with our schools and partners to support their evaluation journey. This will include supporting new schools through their onboarding and data collection processes and monitoring their usage of our digital platform, the School Impact Platform.  You will also be responsible for liaising with schools to schedule focus groups with teachers and pupils and organise these events accordingly, and supporting colleagues with facilitating data collection and analysis, which will include reporting processes and creating surveys which form part of our evaluation work with schools.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to apply for our new professional development pathway, launching this summer. On this two-year scheme, a small cohort will rotate between our practices, gaining wider experience within strategy, evaluation and operational development within the education and social enterprise space.

About You

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others, and open to a range of backgrounds:

• Understanding and experience of the UK education system

• Experience of quantitative and qualitative data analysis (using Excel is preferred, and this doesn’t need to be highly advanced) and report writing

• Experience of working within an administrative or customer service/partner focused role

• Track record of effective process and project management.

About the team

The team will be made up of six Navigators based across the City of Manchester, as well as a Peer Coordinator. You will hold your own caseload, supported by the Team Leader.  You will work alongside Navigators who are based within partner organisations at the Big Life Group and Back on Track, as well as a team of peer volunteers. The team is also responsible for contributing to Shelter’s wider community priorities and work with internal colleagues to deliver our strategy. 

About the role

The service will provide Early Help Support for Adults facing multiple disadvantages via the ‘Bringing Service Together for People in Places’ (BST PiP) programme in Manchester and the national Changing Futures programme.  Your role will be to work directly with adults and liaise with linked agencies and services in the community to improve outcomes. Your collaborative, trauma-responsive and person-centred approach will be key to achieving this.  You will identify blocks and barriers within existing systems and find solutions to make wider and transformational change locally. We put the involvement of people with lived experience of multiple disadvantages at the heart of delivering this service and in co-production of future delivery.

About you 

You will need experience of frontline services, supporting adults from diverse backgrounds with multiple and complex needs and/or multiple disadvantages. You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of Manchester based services and community assets, be able to represent Shelter externally and have an appreciation of the barriers and personal difficulties faced by people accessing local services, You will have a proactive, creative, and collaborative approach, great relationship building skills, a flair for leading change and the confidence to challenge the status quo  You will also have demonstrable experience of working with volunteers and co-production.

Senior Helpline Advisor

In this role you will provide immediate and short term intervention via the telephone to children and young people impacted by crime and manage a small Triage team.

The Role

As a Senior Triage Officer - Children and Young people’s Service, you will be:

• Managing a team delivering initial telephone-based support and an effective triage service to those affected by crime
• Responsible for line managing a team including recruitment, performance management and monitoring, support and guidance
• Act as the first point of contact for clients referred in to the service, ensuring that comprehensive impact and risks assessments are completed and a tailored response to each client’s needs is provided.

As a key member of the team, the Grants Officer will work closely with the Head of Charity and colleagues across the team to build a sustainable funding pipeline to help generate significant growth by securing grants by:

• Personally securing substantial gifts from Trusts and Foundations (up to £150k)
• Delivering income targets, in line with the annual budget, from a portfolio of Trusts and Corporate Foundations
• Responsibility for researching Trusts and Corporate Foundations in alignment with a wide variety of projects and appeals that address the needs of BTH
• Developing high-quality bids/applications/cases for support for a variety of funders

About the role
As a valued member of our Customer Engagement team, your role will be pivotal in driving our support and fundraising efforts through outbound calling. Your mission is to connect with our British Heart Foundation (BHF) supporters, who are the lifeblood of our organisation.

Here’s how you’ll make a difference:

• Supporter Engagement Specialist: Connecting with our BHF supporters through outbound calls. 
• Fundraising Event Advocate: Promoting major fundraising events like the London Marathon and the London to Brighton Bike Ride.

Working arrangements

We have two 6-month fixed term contracts available. These roles, while initially for six months, could potentially lead to permanent job opportunities.

Working hours are between 09:00am – 07:00pm, subject to business needs. Normal working hours are 09:00am to 05:00pm - Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work 11:00am - 07:00pm during peak event season.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our Birmingham office (B37 7YE).

Mind in Brighton and Hove empowers and supports people who have experience of mental health issues in Brighton and Hove and West Sussex. We are a Local Mind Affiliated to National Mind.

We are seeking to appoint a Mental Health Advice Worker for our busy and established service in Brighton and Hove. The role plays an essential part of our response to those people contacting us with their mental health enquiries and concerns.

You will responsible for offering a range of face to face and telephone mental health advice and information to people living in the city, including carers and family members who have contacted us with a mental health concern. The service also delivers awareness raising wellbeing workshops and community outreach as part of its delivery.

The role involves supporting people to identify strategies for looking after their own mental health wellbeing along with providing self-help information and resources.

You will require excellent communication skills, a track record of undertaking advice work and experience of successfully engaging and working with people with lived mental health experience. A commitment and understanding of the recovery model is essential.

Ivy Rock Partners is delighted to be supporting a leading global development organisation with the recruitment of an interim Programme Finance Officer to support the Programme Finance Manager in running an efficient and effective programme financial management and reporting processes in relation to their programmes and grants.

About the role

As Programme Finance Officer you will provide support to the full life cycle of grants: from donor concept proposals to final reports. You will maintain a close working relationship with all finance and programme teams and relevant staff across their international network and external donors. You will prepare financial information for internal reporting purposes, including the quarterly CEO report, monthly dashboards, and quarterly cash balance reports.

You will oversee the grants management and compliance processes, including maintaining the grants management tracker to ensure they are properly recorded and monitored. You will review budgets for proposals and make recommendations for improvements and liaise with the programme/partnerships team to ensure they are complete, accurate and compliant with donor requirements.

You will also carry out any other duties as assigned by the Programme Finance Manager or the Head of Finance and Operations.

About you

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience working within international charities or donor agencies and have a good understanding of grant accounting
• Experience working with EC, ECHO, DFID or equivalent and have familiarity with compliance rules
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
• Experience working within financial accounting and financial reporting in a charitable context
• Broad understanding and experience of development issues and organisations

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) is a national Christian charity working in partnership with local churches to give struggling children hope and a future.

Building on the huge success of TLG Early Intervention Coaching, TLG Therapeutic Support will be a new way for TLG, with partner churches, to provide support in school for the increasing number of pupils struggling to cope due to their emotional, relational, and mental health experiences. 

In this role we are looking for an individual that thrives working with children and young people in a school context and is passionate about supporting pupils and their families struggling with emotional, relational, and mental health challenges. This role requires a formal counselling qualification or at least evidence of notable progress on the journey to attaining a counselling qualification. The TLG Therapeutic Counsellor will be present each week in the school, providing specialist trauma aware care for these children, whilst supporting staff and parents too.

The organisation works worldwide, working in partnership with community-level and national organisations and government to deliver support on important and high profile healthcare programmes. The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager oversees the financial planning and analysis function for the charity, working to drive financial performance and support the charity in deciding strategy. An oversight of responsibilities is as follows:

• Leading in the development of annual budgets and forecasts
• Partnering with relevant budget-holders to inform on the competion of budget templates
• Producing and presenting budget analysis for budget-holders and the senior leadership team
• Reviewing and providing insightful analysis on month end

What's on offer:

• Develop the service provided to budget holders, promoting good financial management, accountability, efficiency and value for money.
• Manage the annual budget process, produce reforecasts and provide general support to budget holders throughout the process.
• Provide accurate and timely monthly management accounts information, including variance analysis for budget holders and Heads of Schools.
• Provide high quality advice and support to internal decision makers including business case and costing analysis.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified with previous experience of finance business partnering in a large, complex environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude are also a must.
