Tax Justice UK (TJ-UK) is building momentum for a fairer tax system. We want to see higher taxes on the super-rich to support quality public services and ensure the redistribution of wealth. Many sectors will coalesce around the demand for investment in public services, and TJ-UK will be at the forefront of this debate. 

Your role will help to win progressive tax reforms, build political support and anchor our campaigning with sound policy analysis. You don’t need a background in tax policy if you can demonstrate an ability to learn and master complex policy briefs. You do need to be hungry for change and be able to convince people in positions of power that progressive tax reform is sensible and feasible. Your policy expertise, political nouse and parliamentary knowledge will help the team to deliver change.

TJ-UK has a track record of securing campaign wins. We have built strong relationships with parliamentarians, policy makers and a network of influential think tanks and organisations. We also have excellent relationships with many influential media outlets, regularly securing extensive media coverage on tax justice issues.

The Role

Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in collaborating across teams to support finance and grantmaking. They are responsible for the smooth running of all transactional processes for grants, payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting. They will also lead on any applicable system enhancements thus offering a critical and wide-ranging systems support role for the grantmaking charity. The Candidate Profile

The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, human rights, and/or grantmaking organisation. They demonstrate knowledge and experience in charity/nonprofit grant accounting/financial issues and dealing with both financial and grant information and processes, understand accounting principles, and have knowledge of accounting, grantmaking, and budgeting processes. They have cash management, banking, and payment experiences. They demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to ensure the accuracy of work and demonstrate precise attention to detail. They will have the skills to give, receive, and work with feedback constructively. They also thrive in a virtual environment, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions. Multiple language skills would be ideal, while English fluency is a must.

Senior Finance Business Partner

This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.

Purpose of job:

In this role you will business partner with the Funding directorate to ensure high quality, accurate and timely budgeting and forecasting with respect to both restricted projects and unrestricted operational activity in the Funding team. You will work closely with the Funding Leadership Team and wider department and be their trusted financial advisor. This role will also give the successful candidate a unique opportunity to contribute to Comic Relief’s Shifting the Power Programme, a long term, transformative, civil society strengthening programme, co-funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), operational in Ghana, Zambia and Malawi.

You will be responsible for internal management information for senior management, alongside external reporting to funders. As part of the external reporting, you will be required to build relationships with external stakeholders including government funders such as FCDO and associated partners (including Anchor Partners who are co-funded by Comic Relief and FCDO as part of the Shifting the Power programme). This role may entail some overseas travel to partners. 

Key responsibilities:

Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting

· Develop technical expertise in relation to our funding principals such as Shift the Power, and advocate for the adoption of these principles within financial planning, reporting and relationships.  Shifting the power principals challenge the conventional top-down approach, where donors hold power, and advocate for a more democratic, inclusive and sustainable approach, where local communities have a say in shaping and implementing projects that impact their lives.

About this role:

This is a new and exciting opportunity for a Philanthropy Fundraiser to join the Charity team here at Alder Hey, the UK’s busiest Children’s Hospital.

We’re looking for someone who loves building relationships and is passionate about high value fundraising. You will have relevant charity fundraising experience with exceptional writing skills to create compelling applications and proposals for funding. The charity is currently conducting a four-day working week trial, due to end on 30th September 2024. This means that, for example, staff previously working 37.5 hours a week are now working 30 hours a week to enable a four-day working week. The trial is monitoring the benefits of a four-day working week against productivity. The vacancy

Could you be a Caseworker for vulnerable young people? Could you give them the support and guidance they need to get back on their feet and live independently?

The young people we work with have become homeless for a number of reasons – isolation or mental ill health, abusive relationships, substance misuse, involvement in gangs/county lines - their issues are complex so you will need to be able to build strong, trusting relationships so that our customers feel safe and supported. 

We are opening two new supported housing schemes in Lewisham.  Both schemes are part of our well-established Young Persons and Complex Needs service in London and will provide temporary housing for young people aged 16-17 who are experiencing homelessness.

A bit about the role:

As a Caseworker, you will be working with a team of highly motivated, compassionate, and dedicated colleagues supporting a caseload of young customers with complex needs. You’ll need to meet each customer weekly to help them with their goals and discuss their progress. And, when someone’s ready to move on, we'll rely on you to help them access the housing register or look for suitable rented accommodation.

What we’re looking for:

You may have worked with vulnerable young people in a paid or voluntary capacity, maybe as a Youth Worker or in an education setting providing pastoral care. You’re a great relationship builder, who can create trust so that our young people feel comfortable sharing their issues with you, you listen but in a non-judgemental way and you are able to spot signs for concern and act on them.

You’ll also need to be able to work on your own, sometimes dealing with challenging situations and diffusing them to avoid escalation. Is this you?

The Role 
 
As a Marketing Officer (copywriting and content) you will build brand awareness and help to ensure the Yorkshire Cancer Research brand is accurately and consistently presented at all times. 

 
Supporting the the Marketing Manager you will ensure consistency in brand messaging, tone of voice and visual brand representation. You will extend the charity’s reach across Yorkshire by supporting the delivery of integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns. You will also communicate effectively to our supporters to strengthen our relationship with them, create high quality and engaging copy, brand and marketing collateral and supporter communications. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Develop high-quality, supporter-focused written marketing communications for a broad range of channels and supporter touchpoints. These shall consistently apply the Yorkshire Cancer Research tone of voice principles, use the key brand messages and always put the supporter at the heart of our charity’s communications. 

• You will work with the brand team to help to maintain, update and improve our charity’s messaging and will provide training, support and guidance to colleagues as required.

• Lead the development of messaging, copy, content and collateral to support marketing and fundraising propositions or campaigns.

• Lead the creation of written copy and marketing content / assets (including, but not limited to, case studies, photography, key messages, quotes, claims, digital and printed collateral) to support the needs of colleagues across the charity.

• Help develop copy for / lead the creation of key corporate communications, working with relevant Brand & Relationships team members (e.g. Fundraising / Communications). 

• Support the marketing team to develop a process for sign-off on copy and collateral, delivering a good customer service to colleagues / stakeholders while meeting governance requirements. 

• Work with the Head of Marketing or Marketing Manager to help project-manage the delivery of marketing and fundraising campaigns 

 
About You

The BNSSG VCSE Alliance exists to enable diverse VCSE organisations to engage and participate in system-wide changes to health and care services. We are seeking a VCSE Brokerage Manager to lead the development of a Brokerage Framework, which will provide a clear, fair, inclusive and proportionate way for health and social care system partners to reach VCSE organisations.

About Us

The Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) VCSE Alliance launched in January 2024. It aims to influence and facilitate greater collaboration between the regional health system (BNSSG Integrated Care System) and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE). It seeks to do this by enhancing the role of the VCSE sector in the delivery and transformation of wellbeing and health, and cementing our sector’s role as a key strategic partner in the planning, design and delivery of health and care, in its widest possible definition.  

The co-design of a new ‘VCSE Brokerage Framework’ with colleagues from the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and System (ICS) is a key priority for the VCSE Alliance in 2024-25. The aim of the Brokerage Framework is to provide a clear, fair, inclusive and proportionate way for health and social care system partners to reach a diverse range of VCSE organisations. The intention is for it to be a new process by which grants and opportunities can be distributed to the sector. 

This is a really exciting time to join the Alliance and deliver a new innovative process which has the potential to be transformative for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

The Role

The VCSE Brokerage Manager’s role is to lead on the further development, piloting, and preparation for launch of the Brokerage Framework. The role will work closely with colleagues across the VCSE Alliance and the health and social care system. Ensuring that diverse VCSE organisations, from micro to large scale and that serve communities of interest, of place and of practice are included and enabled in the brokerage framework will be crucial to the success of this role.
