This part time role (4 days a week) is within a busy small team representing the residents, workers and students of the City of London. Healthwatch City of London are the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. We’re here to make sure that those running services, put people at the heart of care. Our sole purpose is to understand the needs, experiences and concerns of people who use health and social care services, and to speak out on their behalf. We also work to get services right for the future.
You’ll also be representing our organisation at network meetings across all the various Health and Social Care providers, charity partners and patient groups across North East London.
Role purpose
Working closely with the General Manager and Trustees you will develop and deliver the communications and engagement strategy for the organisation, making sure the patients voice is at the heart of everything we do. You will write monthly newsletters, daily social media posts, organise and manage engagement and information events and produce statutory publications. You will also deliver the volunteer strategy by recruiting and managing a wide-ranging volunteer team and identifying relevant projects which enhance and deliver on Healthwatch City of London objectives.

The Operations Manager is a key role within the team, ensuring the effective and efficient management of the SLG’s three sites: the Main Gallery, the Fire Station and Art Block. This includes managing the maintenance and upkeep of the SLG’s Grade II listed buildings and artist-designed gardens, as well as leading the Front of House team to ensure that the SLG provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors and a high quality of visitor experience.
The Operations Manager works closely with the Deputy Director and manages a team comprising two Operations Supervisors, the Gallery Technician and contracted and casual Front of House staff and Cleaners. The role takes the lead on the implementation and monitoring of the SLG’s environment and sustainability policy and contributes to organisation-wide work towards the SLG’s equity, diversity and inclusion objectives.
The post holder will be required to be an appointed first aider and a fire marshal, as well as a primary keyholder. They may, therefore, be called upon for out of hours emergencies. Appropriate training will be given.

About the role
The Senegal team are looking to recruit a Programme Manager Eye Health to oversee the development, co-ordination and management of Sightsavers programmes in Senegal. The postholder will ensure alignment with Sightsavers policies and preferred programme approaches (in particular the principles of scalable demonstration approaches) working closely with the Country Director to maintain in- house quality standards on the delivery of programmes.

Key accountabilities but not limited to:
- Lead the development of country level action and implementation plans for eye health as agreed with the Global Technical Lead, Eye Health and Country Director, Senegal.

- Deliver effective monitoring and support the evaluation of all aspects of the Eye Health programme, applying learning systematically to drive continuous improvement in projects and programmes

- Assist in preparing Budgets for projects and monitor expenditure against these, advising the Country Director on financial trends for example.
- Work with the finance team to ensure proper partner accountability for Sightsavers funds.

- Participate in all PR activities of the Country Office and represent Sightsavers at different forums in collaboration with the Country Director.
Essential knowledge and skills
- Degree in Medicine, preferably an Ophthalmologist or Postgraduate Degree in Public Health, Sciences or related disciplines.
- A proven track record within Programme/Project management, ideally in an INGO environment at PM level.
- Significant experience of strategic programme development.
- Technical knowledge on eye health in Senegal.
- Experience of managing an eye care programme in Africa, ideally in an international context.
- Strong advocacy, monitoring evaluation and research and logistics and supply chain management
- Current and ongoing right to work in Senegal
- Able to travel as and when required

Requirements

- Experience of donor compliance and reporting, including of institutional donors with complex compliance and reporting requirements.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic fundraising leader to shape and deliver a new long-term high value giving strategy, driving significant income growth across corporates, philanthropy, trusts, foundations and statutory funders. This pivotal role will reinvigorate our approach to high value fundraising aligning with our new organisational strategy and refreshed brand. To expand our pipeline, grow income and build sustainable partnerships and relationships and explore new funding opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a high-performing team to deliver the annual plan and secure six-figure+ income
- Developing a clear, sustainable fundraising strategy and implementation roadmap across multiple income streams

About You
- Extensive fundraising expertise, including building and managing high-value donor pipelines, securing six-figure+ gifts, and developing strategic partnerships with corporate, trust, statutory, and philanthropic donors.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading sizable teams, involving senior staff and volunteers, and working with fundraising boards.
- Strategic thinker and planner, with a proven ability to co-develop long-term high-value fundraising strategies, secure alternative funding, and translate goals into measurable plans.
- Highly skilled communicator and influencer, confident in presenting to senior stakeholders and Trustees, and adept at navigating and influencing within complex organisations.
- Proactive and values-driven, with strong negotiation, decision-making, and creative problem-solving skills; committed to driving income growth and innovation.
- Deep sector knowledge, including understanding of relevant fundraising markets, trends, and regulations, and able to lead with compassion, emotional intelligence, and openness to feedback.
About the Role
- Develop and implement a three-year high-value fundraising strategy and roadmap, underpinned by research, insight, KPIs, and measurable milestones.
- Manage income and expenditure budgets, ensuring financial targets are met, risks are mitigated, and performance is tracked against KPIs.
- Lead relationship-building and networking efforts, cultivating a strong pipeline of prospects and donors including high net worth individuals, trusts, corporates, and major grantmakers.
- Inspire and engage organisational leaders, staff, and volunteers in the identification and stewardship of key funders, ensuring collaborative relationship management.
- Drive the development of tailored funding propositions, working cross-functionally to align funder interests with organisational programmes and long-term goals.
- Ensure operational excellence, through effective frameworks, processes, and compliance with legal, regulatory, and best practice standards.
- Provide values-led leadership, fostering team development, continuous improvement, and alignment with St John’s compassionate leadership culture and strategic aims.

Our Merton Risk and Resilience Service is an integrated service, focused on mitigating risk, and promoting resilience, in children and young people (C&YP). Our service aims to reduce the harm to children and young people (aged 18 and under), within the Child Exploitation (CE) and Missing service area, and C&YP (aged 24 and under), within the substance misuse service area.

The role of Young Person's Practitioner (Risk and Resilience) is an excellent opportunity to make a direct and valued difference to the lives of children and young people (C&YP), who are at significant risk of experiencing child exploitation, substance misuse, or going missing from home.
Providing tailored support and guidance to children, young people, and families, this role will actively contribute to achieving high standards of care, quality, and positive outcomes - supporting service users to fulfil their potential, through consistent and meaningful participation.
Main Duties:
- Providing tailored one-to-one support, guidance, and interventions.
- Assessing the needs of children and young people, determining appropriate support plans and pathways, and informing risk reduction plans - supporting access to additional or specialist services where necessary.
- Ensuring that referrals, support, care, and risk management are of a high quality, with ease of transition.
- Developing sustainable joint service work with referring agencies, local authorities, children’s social care, and children and families services (CFS).
- Ensuring timely and appropriate data recording – including tracking, outcome monitoring, KPI monitoring, and assisting with the production of feedback reports.
- Providing consultation, information, training, and presentations, to a wide range of stakeholders, from varied settings (we can help to build your skills in training provision if required).
This role works in partnership with a wide range of partner agencies and commissioners, providing continuous opportunities to build your network and knowledge within the Children’s Social Care Sector. We will also support you to build service-area specialisms, in the areas of Substance Misuse, Child Exploitation, Missing from Home, or Families work. Qualifications
- 5 GCSE’s (grade C or above), or equivalent.
- Experience of working with children and young people, with complex needs or vulnerabilities.
- Preferable: Working knowledge of supporting children and young people in one or more of the following areas: substance misuse, child exploitation, missing from home.
